BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN 2014, (IT WAS THE 6TH CHRYSLER MINIVAN I'VE OWNED SINCE 1995.) I LOVE THESE MINVANS! THIS ONE HAS HAD AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH CYLINDER #3 MISFIRING AND CAUSING VIOLENT SHAKING (AS IF IT HAD A BROKEN ENGINE MOUNT). THE PROBLEM HAS ALWAYS BEEN DIAGNOSED AND EVENTUALLY "FIXED" BY THREE DIFFERENT CHRYSLER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS IN NC, FL & VA.(THE PROBLEM OCCURED ON VARIOUS TRIPS).

THEY INSTALLED A NEW SPARK PLUG, AND AFTER LEAVING DEALERSHIP AND DRIVING NO MORE THAN 20 MILES, VIOLENT SHAKING OCCURED AGAIN. I IMMEDIATLEY RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS TIME #3 SPARK PLUG HAD "EXPLODED" AND CAUSED THE CYLINDER HEAD TO CRACK. ALL PREVIOUS REPAIRS WERE COVERED BY THE "LIFETIME" WARRANTY PURCHASED AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE IN 2014. HOWEVER THIS TIME, CHRYSLER INSURANCE SENT AN INVESTIGATOR WHO DETERMINED THAT THE DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY THE EXPLODING SPARK PLUG AND THEREFORE DENIED COVERAGE. THE CHRYSLER SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID THE "PCM" FAILED, CAUSING THE SPARK PLUG FAILURE. THE INSURANCE AGENT CONTINUES TO DENY THE CLAIM BECAUSE THEIR POLICY "DOES NOT COVER SPARK PLUG PROBLEMS" ! THEY NOW WANT ME TO PAY $2500 FOR REPAIRS. IN ALL CASES, THE "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" CAME ON AND I WOULD RETURN TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT CHECKED. THEIR COMPUTER CHECK ALWAYS DEFINED THE PROBLEM AS BEING SOMETHING IN CYLINDER #3, BUT INCONCLUSIVE BECAUSE OF NO OBVIOUS ENGINE SYMPTOMS. THEY WOULD RESET THE ENGINE LIGHT AND SEND ME ON MY WAY UNTIL AN ACTUAL PROBLEM OCCURED, AND THEN LEAVE THE VEHICLE FOR MORE DETAILED CHECKING. My car is using an excessive amount of oil. I did an oil change on April 4th and by May 4th my car was telling me I need an oil change. I had not even driven it the recommended 3,000 miles before doing an oil change. I added the 1 1/2 quarts of oil that my car showed was low and had only driven it for a 2 hour trip before it needed oil again. It also smelled like it was burning.

No mater what I tried it wouldn't budge had to the dealer twice about it they said they needed to order a part. They are in northeast Ohio Right now I am 200 miles from home on a Sunday . And hope a local dealer has the part This van has been a disappointment to say the least.

While stopped at a stop light, one of the radiator cooling fans (plastic) disintegrated, severely damaging the radiator beyond repair. Engine coolant was quickly lost. We pulled off to the side of the road. We had to replace the cooling fans and radiator.

On the gear shift lever of my vehicle, there are jagged, hard plastic pieces between the leather and the shift lever that continuously cuts my fingers while shifting gears. The cuts are similar to papercuts. One time, a piece of the hard plastic broke off and got stuck in my hand, which required tweezers to remove. Very painful.

I tried to start my Chrysler Pacifica in the morning. The car would not start, and all of the vehicle's dashboard warning lights came on at different times when i pressed the On/Off ignition button. There was no clear, or coherent error message being displayed about what was wrong with the vehicle. Every warning light came on and off. The vehicle's computer module appeared to have malfunctioned

The dealer informed me it was simply a low battery problem, but could not explain to me why all of the warning lights on the dashboard and console came on and off. The "L" gear should typically slow down the vehicle when engaged, especially going downhill, so that you can use the transmission to slow the car down and use less braking. On a recent trip on I-5 the Grapevine, i used the L gear to attempt to slow down the vehicle on a steep and long descent. Instead of slowing the
... vehicle down immediately upon switching to L, the vehicle actually sped up 10 to 15 mph initially before it starts to slow down the car, creating a very dangerous situation especially when vehicles in front of me were slowing down too on the descent. I took it to the dealer, and they actually replaced the TCM because of another dangerous problem (see Complaint 11405469, March 2021) with the vehicle. I have tried the "L" gear again after, and it still does the same thing. The dealer says they cannot replicate the problem because there is no downhill where they can test for this problem.Read more

Our 2005 Chrysler 300 stalls and will not restart for many minutes after we refuel it. Chrysler stated they have extended the warranty to a life time coverage if you are experiencing this issue you are able to get it covered under said warranty. The passenger sliding door becomes permanently locked preventing you from opening the door, from the outside or manually, to access your children. Fortunately for us we were not in an accident when this happened and I was able to use the other door. This is a very common issue for the Town and Country vans and there needs to be a recall on the door actuators used before someones child is prevented

Sliding door shuts, beeps and reopens. we have to hit the button 3-5 times before it shuts. Back up camera flashes blue and does not work. Aux battery keeps going dead and the auto start stop quits working. I just had to spend 1000 to fix all the issues. after seeing other comments this seems to be quite a problem with a lot of these vans.

I just had to spend 1000 to fix all the issues. after seeing other comments this seems to be quite a problem with a lot of these vans.

The rear lift gate locking mechanism failed while driving causing the lift gate to open in traffic. There is no manual lock or release for the lift gate.

Chrysler 200 (2015) engine shuts down with no notice. I have to literally stop, put the car in park and restart the ignition in the middle of the road to get the car moving again. Mostly when deacceleration (turning a corner/slowing down for a traffic stop, going over a bump, etc.). The electrical system just shuts off. Notice that the temperature outside is usually warm. Seems to do better in
... cooler weather. The car does not get hot (temperature gauge has been tested). Oil is full and gets regular changes. It is Extremely Dangerous. Many times throughout this month I have almost been hit. Angry people cuss you out for stopping in the middle of traffic. Not only does it cause me high anxiety but the safety of myself and my grandchild is at risk. I am afraid to drive it but have no other means of transportation. Message displays: Put gear in park, restart engine. No engine light comes on so the mechanics are unable to diagnosis issue. It has been put on the code reader but not codes appear. Midas said it was the Power Distribution Center Electrical Connector (R24) . That they couldn't fix it but that it should be under warranty but it wasn't for my VIN # . Prior ( a week or so before) the airbag alert illuminated on the dash (2 different times) but went off after I adjusted my seat. At one time after I started having problems my low light beam indicator said my bulb was out but then went off and my low light still worked (not burnt out). I gave her the car yesterday 6/10/21 today is 6/11/21 She was driving vehicle pulling out onto busy road and entire vehicle shut off would not start 30 min of sitting waiting for AAA which costs money to send them and car starts up what the heck death trap

My van has a failing TIPM and apparently this is a common thing with these vans. It causes the horn to sound, wipers to start even when the vehicle is parked with no one in it and the engine off. It also causes the vehicle to shut off the fuel pump causing the vehicle to shut off while driving. Chrysler is well aware of this and refuses to issue a recall, even though this is something that happens

My 2005 Chrysler 300 has been having an issue with the fuel tank. When you get fuel in it then it won’t stay started. It keeps stalling out repeatedly. It also stalls out randomly under 25mph. Both are dangerous as it may cause you to get T-boned leaving gas station as it repeatedly stalls. Also it stalled out on the freeway on-ramp under 25mph. ... t the same time. Someone could have been injured or killed. And Chrysler needs to take this more seriously than they did just with the 2005 300c. It’s happening to more models of that year as well. Their offered remedy was telling me not to fuel it all the way up anymore past 3/4 of a tank. A dealership confirmed it needs a full fuel tank replacement and has had it since Memorial Day. They still have it currently. Chrysler told me and the dealership I’m on my own after treating me horribly most of the time on the phone calls with customer care center as I was jumping through hoops for them over and over for around 2 months. Whenever I get someone kind and helpful they won’t let me speak to them again. I have this all written down. And will get the estimate when I get my car back. But I don’t have $2800 ($2000 alone is just the fuel tank) to fix this on my own. Especially not when there is a known issue. Fuel tanks just don’t break and need full replacement as a common issue in vehicles. But Chrysler says my vehicle is too old. Which they knew the year of my vehicle when I called in the first place. And they know there is a known issue which is why they have lifetime fuel tank replacements on others of the same year. It’s too bad they weren’t pushed to do a total recall rather than just a safety bulletin. It left the rest of us that end up having issues with the fuel tanks in danger. It’s not just coincidental. It’s been acting up for awhile and I couldn’t find anyone that had ever heard of this until the Chrysler forums. It got worse in 2020 to present. Thank you.Read more
