We purchased our vehicle on July 8, 2019 and it was 18,179 miles on August 9, 2021, is slightly over what would be considered eligible under the NY Lemon Law for new vehicles. We took our vehicle in to the Service Center for a routine inspection on August 9, 2021, because we realized our sticker expired only to learn that it would not pass inspection due to the check engine light coming on. After
... they diagnosed it, we were told the reason for the Check Engine light being on was some wires had supposedly been chewed by rodents. The service department repaired the wires and we paid $979.55 out of pocket for that repair. We were told to pick up the vehicle on August 11, 2021 (with an expired inspection) and drive it for approximately 100 miles and then bring it back in one week to see if they would be able to perform the inspection. After driving the vehicle for less than a week is when the nightmare begins! FIVE INCIDENTS LATER, the vehicle’s electrical system continues to dangerously malfunction WHILE WE ARE DRIVING. The vehicle still can not be inspected. The service department continues to give the vehicle back to us band-aiding every repair of the electrical system and the issue IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. The last incident, the 5th time, we took a trip to New Paltz NY and we received the dreaded Uconnect Service Alert about the Malfunction Indicator as soon as we arrived there. We immediately cut our trip short and attempted to go back to the Bronx to return the vehicle to the Dealer Service center. We called Eastchester Chrysler and left a voicemail that we were on our way to return the vehicle again. The vehicle started to malfunction severely as we were driving on I-87. Practically every system was indicating failure including the Air Bag, Brake system, Electronic Stability Control, Shifter, Steering, etc. The vehicle stalled near Exit 14A Chestnut Ridge. We had to pay $340 to be towed to our home in the Bronx, because it was too late to take it to the dealer.Read more

Greetings, My name is [XXX], age 27. I am a young single mother of two children, and as I felt like I was truly blessed to get any car that would be reliable to take me to work. Unfortunately, I was leased a 2016 Chrysler Town Country vehicle, as I still owe $11,000 after making monthly payments of $367.00 since May 13th, 2021., with a $4,200 payment down. What I thought was a blessing for my
... situation, but in reality it was a predatorial loan in disguises from The Contra Costa County, public Auto Auction. As I only had this car for 5 months, I am now seeming to be extremely frustrated that I am being charged $500.00 to get my car serviced, as Chrysler Dealership is the only reliable source to service this vehicle due to the complication of their being a specific machine to add transmission fluid into the transmission. There is a check engine light exact for my transmission sensors, but it actually needs to be changed immediately. Due to my financial hardship that COIVD has caused me as a young single mother, I am unable to pay for this unknown excessive charge for the proper service. This is causing a huge delay within trying to get this problem fixed before the transmission ends up blowing out on me. I was also informed that I would not be eligible to get a rental in return for the amount of days that It will take to get an appointment at a Chrysler Dealership. Please have a supervisor contact me immediately regarding this concern, this is causing a serious matter. My contact information is as listed below: [XXX] Thank you in advance for your time, and consideration regarding this unfortunate disaster of getting this specific car without knowing exactly what programs I would run into in the near future. While driving the van suddenly stops and the engine cuts out-this has been accompanied by multiple dashboard warning lights going on and off. The steering wheel also locks up when this happens. When attempting to start the dashboard lights and interior lights would flash on and off and then stop. I have taken it to an independent repair shop that was unable to correct any issues due to proprietary Chrysler programming. My local Chrysler dealership told me that they could not replicate the issue. I have also had issues with the side and rear power doors opening part way and then closing and vice versa. This incidents have occurred while the vehicle was running but not in motion. The local dealership did diagnose an electrical issues with the rear folding seats that was caused from a programming bug that they indicate was fixed. All of these issues have occurred multiple times and every time I am told that it could not be replicated so there was nothing to be done. Currently the van is not operational as it will not start, when attempting to start ALL the lights (internal and external) flash on and off, the vehicle indicates that it is in run mode but the engine is not on. I did have the battery tested, it’s fine. Multiple online searches revel that I am not the only consumer with this issue.Read more

The sliding electrical/mechanical passenger door does not close entirely and continually retries to re-close. Occasionally the condition can occur while driving causing fear the door will open or not be locked exposing passengers to potential serious injury hazard while in motion. The condition has not improved despite efforts to clean, clear, oil parts to try and remediate the item. Dealer is not making any recommendations for remediation on this defect to this point. These cases first noticed in 2018, and has continued off and to the present. I was made aware of potential class action on the issue from another FCA auto owner and raising this item for purposes of lending my experience to the number of customers affected by this SLIDING DOOR ELECTRICAL/Mechanical issue.Read more

A few weeks ago we took our car to a mechanic to have the brakes worked on as a part of routine maintenance. When we picked it up, he noted that when he had it up on the lift, he saw that the engine cradle was very badly rusted. He said that we shouldn't drive it anymore because of the risks involved. I tried to crawl under the car when we got home (there isn't a ton of clearance) but I saw what h
... e was talking about. At that point we looked online and found hundreds and hundreds of similar experiences and complaints. We were left dumbfounded at the risks this introduces...thinking about what would happen if this mechanic hadn't noticed the issue and we'd been driving down the interstate with our kids when the thing decided to give way. And the fact that the manufacturer knows of this issue and has done nothing is beyond disgusting. Fortunately we found out from the mechanic, not from the engine falling out. Even still, this means that we're left with a worthless car. While our car is abandoned in the driveway hoping for Chrysler to right their wrong, we still see lots of similar vehicles on the road. I'm guessing that their owners don't know that they're driving death traps either. We had a 2008 Tacoma with similar frame rust issues and Toyota recalled it almost a decade after it was manufactured, and replaced the entire frame. Chrysler should have to do the same to repair their shoddy and negligent design, or at least compensate us for the complete loss of value so that we can have some money to put towards its replacement. I also think that this issue needs to be publicly noted for all similar model years. We'd purchased this from a Chrysler dealership, and had checked the Carfax and Consumer Reports before purchasing this vehicle, and none of them noted these issues even though the vehicle was a few years old at the time. Vehicle has been repaired.*JBRead more

This Chrysler 300 is equipped with side view mirrors which tilt down when vehicle is placed in reverse gear. It is suppose to tilt a few degrees so that you can see noting is under your rear tires such as a small child or o pet cat, dog, etc. However this vehicle s mirrors tild down so far the only view you have is the ground area directly under the drivers /passenger front door. You could see
... a child or pet or even to safely back the vehicle up. I have taken this to the dealership they tell me there is no fix for this condition Is this something associated with just this car??? Or, have other vehicles had this problem??Read more

Both of my headrests in the front (driver and passenger) within a week of each other have suddenly "popped" forward. They are broken and can't be put back together. It is very dangerous. Thankfully no one was riding in the passenger seat. The driver seat occurred when the vehicle was parked. This could have really hurt someone.
