But the van just shut off so I made it to a parking lot turned the switch off then it started right back up and it happened again on my way home. It has happened multiple times. The contact stated that the computer module was replaced; however, the failure recurred while driving and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed that no issues were found. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Jim Browne Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Dade City (12020 US-301, Dade City, FL 33525) who diagnosed that the ignition key had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the ignition key was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that whenever the failure recurred, he would put the vehicle in neutral, then drive and attempt to restart the vehicle but the vehicle would only restart after he waited 10-15 minutes. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened; however, the manufacturer closed the case after a while. All powered functions ceased and i was left to pull over with no power steering, the brakes didn't respond as well, signals weren't working either. Chrysler Care told me I was 10K miles out of warranty and would not extend good will fix because I was not original purchaser. But they were the original manufacturer! Don't buy Chrysler.

I wanted to write to you and let you know about our recent and scary experience with our new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Limited. We purchased our van on Labor Day, September 6, 2021. Since then, we have had 2 out of town family funerals and a family vacation so we have right at 5k miles on the vehicle. On 11/5/2021, at approximately 1:15pm, I was driving our van on a 6-lane major thoroughfare w
... ith my two small children with me. We had 43% of our EV battery remaining and so we were driving on EV power (and had a half tank of fuel also). Suddenly, the engine power stopped, I had no acceleration, and a “Service Charging System” message popped up on the instrument info panel along with a check engine light, a red battery light near the compass, and a red plug symbol just below the fuel gauge. I was not able to get the van to do anything but roll with whatever forward momentum we had toward the side of the highway. In nothing short of a miracle, we avoided multiple collisions and safely made it to the shoulder. We had electric power to run the radio and climate fan only but the car engine was completely inoperable and could not start or shift into gear after multiple attempts to restart it. I contacted roadside assistance and waited for a tow while trying to keep my small children calm and safe sitting in a dangerous location on the side of a highway. After about 30 minutes, the car engine fan shut off and so I attempted to restart the car and it finally worked. I immediately headed toward the closest dealership by taking the side roads and hoping that we wouldn’t have another incident and be a sitting duck on the highway again. This vehicle malfunction could have, and realistically still could, cause a traumatic and horrific fatal motor vehicle collision. This is not just a routine and minor malfunction like a door sensor issue, or check engine light, etc. This issue can lead to a severe safety issue that will, and did, render the vehicle a target with no escape.Read more

Research also revealed that many of the Chrysler 300s are experiencing this issue. Also, I did have the dealer to take a look at the panels when I went to have my car serviced on 10/27/2021 and was advised to submit a claim with Chrysler. I tried to get a new one installed it wouldn’t work. I was told it could be an electrical issue. In July 2021 my right low beam head light stopped working. I tried to get a new bulb installed and it still wouldn’t work. At this time I was told the same thing, that it seems like there may be an electrical issue. This month, November 2021, a few days ago on Monday November 1st, I began noticing an acceleration issue in the morning. I would press the accelerator and it wouldn’t pick up until a few seconds later, it was like a delay. Later that day while I was driving on the free way a red flash symbol with lines between it began flashing on my car and my car wouldn’t drive over 20 mph. I pulled over. Shortly after I turned my car back on and it began driving semi normal and I was able to get home. I tried out my car the next day and in the morning the same thing happened again. The red flash symbol with 2 lines on the side of it began flashing on my dashboard and my car wouldn’t go over 20 mph. I’m not sure what the issue is but when I looked up what the red flashing symbol, I noticed a few others who had a similar experience with their 2008 Chrysler Sebring which made me want to look up whether there was a recall and I found out there was but when I searched whether my car was eligible through my VIN number it said there was none unrepaired.Read more

Yesterday, I was entering an entrance ramp onto the freeway and m

The first time this occurred was April 2019 when my car lost power while I was driving on a high rise bridge during a storm causing the car to hydroplane back and forth against the railing. I was able to restart it and turn the hazard lights on so I would not get hit. But this accident injured me causing me to undergo months of medical treatment. Even after telling the insurance company about the power loss during the accident and even after the car was repaired from the accident then returned to me, it still was losing power. They took my car back and told me after inspecting it again, it was the battery and they replaced it. This was never taken serious when I was injured and could have died that day and many other days since. They did not check to see if it could have been a recall issue. Now I am experiencing this problem multiple times a week, and unless this is done by the manufacturer, it will not be corrected, putting us all in danger or leaving me without transportation because I have no faith I will be safe to continue to drive this car that I still have a year and a half of payments left. Even after telling the insurance company about the power loss during the accident and even after the car was repaired from the accident then returned to me, it still was losing power. They took my car back and told me after inspecting it again, it was the battery and they replaced it. This was never taken serious when I was injured and could have died that day and many other days since. They did not check to see if it could have been a recall issue. Now I am experiencing this problem multiple times a week, and unless this is done by the manufacturer, it will not be corrected, putting us all in danger or leaving me without transportation because I have no faith I will be safe to continue to drive this car that I still have a year and a half of payments left. My wife recently noticed that the garage door opener intermittently stopped working and then unfortunately she was driving in the rain and figured out the windshield wipers do not function anytime the garage door opener stops working. Transmission completely fails with only 83,000 miles. Paid at a Chrysler/Dodge dealership to have the transmission replaced with a new one. August 17th after driving the vehicle the transmission failed again. Took several weeks before they replaced the transmission valve body on supposedly a new transmission. After 1,644 miles the vehicle again loose power.

Keys (pod) get stuck in ignition cannot remove them and cannot shift out of park to remove them, the shifting piece won't move out of park but the car start but can't shift gears or remove the key pod.
