Check engine light came in. Took into repair shop to change oil and diagnose issue. It was about 7,000 miles since previous oil change with full synthetic oil. Drained oil was full of metal shavings. Refilled oil and ran engine. Metal shavings was again observed in oil immediately. Mechanic stated vehicle needed a new engine. Noticed another complaint (#11674909) built around same time with exact
... same issue. Vehicle has ~160k miles with regular maintenace and only synthetic oil. There should not be engine damage at this point that would lead to a failure as this. Cost of repair is currently being worked up by repair shop but likely in $3-7k range.Read more

My 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring-L has suffered repeated and dangerous electrical failures since purchase. Shortly after buying it from AutoNation Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Valencia, CA, I had to return it twice for electrical repairs that kept it in service several weeks under warranty. About two years later, while still under extended warranty, the engine underwent a complete rebuild for multi
... ple-cylinder misfire codes that were likely caused by intermittent CAN-bus voltage loss rather than a mechanical defect. Over the past nine months, the vehicle has again developed severe electrical faults while driving: sudden loss of power steering assist, all dashboard lights illuminating, windshield wipers activating spontaneously, and the engine failing to shut off using the Start/Stop button. The vehicle has also stalled without warning while driving in traffic or idling at red lights, restarting only after 5–10 minutes and blocking traffic lanes, placing me and surrounding drivers at significant risk. Two major repairs in the last two weeks failed to resolve the defects: (1) repair of the CAN-bus system after the vehicle would not start and acted erratically while driving, and a week later (2) replacement of the brake-booster vacuum pump, which was shorted internally and caused CAN-bus shutdown, complete steering loss, sudden braking, and no engine power. The vehicle is currently at Dependable Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Canoga Park, CA, awaiting further diagnosis despite repeated repair attempts. These symptoms match Chrysler TSBs 08-007-17 and 08-033-21 concerning Body Control Module water intrusion and communication faults. This ongoing electrical defect has caused steering loss, random stalling, ignition failure, and unpredictable vehicle behavior—issues widely reported by Pacifica owners. It poses a serious safety hazard and warrants immediate investigation and recall.Read more

Cv joints clicking. Local Honda service department is aware of the problem, but no fix for it. Service high voltage battery with reduced power. This just came up that limits driving. Heater stopped working. Infotainment center will black out on and off every time I turn on the car. Very dangerous when I forget and I’m backing out of my garage.

I am formally requesting immediate review and investigation into multiple unresolved safety defects involving my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, VIN [XXX] . Jeep has acknowledged a hybrid-battery fire-risk recall affecting this model, yet there has been no available remedy or repair timeline, leaving the vehicle unsafe for regular operation and posing risk to myself, my family, and others around the
... vehicle. Primary defect — High-voltage hybrid battery fire risk (UNRESOLVED) My vehicle falls under an active hybrid-battery safety recall involving potential internal failure of the high-voltage traction battery capable of causing thermal events or fire while parked or in motion. Despite this being a critical safety hazard, Jeep/Stellantis has: Provided no repair or replacement timeline Offered no interim mitigation beyond advising parking precautions Provided no alternative transportation or safety guarantee This leaves me with a vehicle that cannot be safely used, parked near structures, or charged, effectively removing the primary functional design reason I purchased a 4xe plug-in hybrid. Additional unresolved safety-critical issues In addition to the fire-risk recall, my Grand Cherokee 4xe has experienced: Steering component issues, including instability and safety concerns while driving Suspension-related defects, including risks tied to coil-spring recall applicability Loss of hybrid system functionality, severely limiting drivability and efficiency Multiple disruptions causing loss of use, travel restrictions, confidence in safety & reliability These combined failures demonstrate systemic integrity concerns that extend beyond the battery recall alone. Why NHTSA’s involvement is needed Because Jeep has failed to present a repair path or a timeframe — and because this defect can escalate to vehicle fire, immobilization, or sudden failure while driving — I believe there is sufficient cause for expanded review and enforcement action. I brought my car in to my local mechanic and was told my rear suspension was corroded. He said it would cost around five thousand dollars to repair. In all my years of driving, I have never had the brake lines rust out on a vehicle and can't imagine that this is not related to the suspension issue. I believe mercedes benz should be responsible for this repair just like they are responsible for the corrosion with the rear suspension.Read more

The High-Voltage (HV) Hybrid Battery Pack Assembly failed, resulting in a system shutdown and the required replacement. The primary code is DTC P0A80 ("Replace Hybrid Battery Pack"), which indicates an internal manufacturing or design flaw, specifically a weak battery module or compromised internal connection, not normal wear. The defective component (the high-voltage battery) is currently at and
... is available for inspection. The entire vehicle is also compromised by the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module defect (NHTSA Recall 23V-651000). My safety was put at risk in two primary ways: 1. Immediate Loss of Power: The hybrid system failure resulted in a loss of drivetrain power, rendering the vehicle nearly immobile. This occurred on at approximately mph, placing me at high risk of a collision. 2. Latent Fire Risk: My vehicle is covered under the NHTSA ID 23V-651000 fire risk recall due to the ABS module. Hyundai specifically advised owners of these vehicles to "park their vehicles outside and away from structures" until the remedy is complete, confirming the severity of the latent fire hazard. The failure of the secondary HV battery system occurred within this already dangerous, electrically unstable environment. Yes, the vehicle was inspected by the Hyundai dealership / independent shop at the time of failure.. The manufacturer's corporate division has been contacted and is aware of the defect and the resulting $10,000 replacement estimate, as they offered a 50% "goodwill" subsidy which I am rejecting, asserting 100% coverage is required for a defect. Yes. The primary preceding warning was the intermittent appearance of the "Check Hybrid System, Turn off engine" warning.Read more

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding ongoing and severe engine issues with my 2018 Hyundai Sonata SE. Despite proper maintenance, the vehicle has developed extreme oil consumption and misfire problems that have made the car unreliable, unsafe, and financially burdensome. Beginning around 118,000 miles, the vehicle started consuming oil so rapidly that I was forced to completely replace th
... e oil every 1–2 weeks because it would run dangerously low or nearly empty. This level of oil loss is not normal, acceptable, or sustainable. I have detailed documentation, receipts, mileage logs, and maintenance history supporting this. In addition to oil consumption, the vehicle has repeatedly misfired, produced diagnostic trouble codes, and fouled spark plugs with oil. I have been forced to replace spark plugs approximately every two weeks, which is clearly abnormal for any modern vehicle. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has experienced violent knocking noises, severe loss of power, hesitation during acceleration, and near-stalling. One incident was so loud and aggressive that it felt like the engine was going to come out of the hood. These symptoms pose a serious safety risk while driving. I brought the car to a Hyundai dealership at approximately 118,000 miles for an oil-consumption test. The vehicle failed that test, clearly confirming excessive oil consumption. Despite this, Hyundai refused to provide repair, internal engine cleaning, or engine replacement, claiming the vehicle was already over 100,000 miles I have maintained this vehicle responsibly and have documentation of regular oil changes, spark-plug replacements, inspections, and diagnostic reports. Despite my efforts, the issue continues to worsen, and the vehicle remains unsafe and unreliable. This ongoing problem has caused significant financial strain, emotional stress, lost time, and fear of engine failure while driving. Based on countless similar complaints from other Hyundai owners, this appearRead more

**Nature of Safety Defect Within 13,000 miles of normal mixed highway and light off-road use on a Toyota Highland, one tire developed a sidewall bubble and all four tires exhibited extreme and uneven tread wear—far below the advertised 50,000-mile treadwear warranty. The remaining tread depth on all four tires is already under 2/32" in multiple locations, with severe cupping and feathering that

I purchased this van in March 2025, it was used about 62000 miles, but dealer said it was in good condition, no issues. In September 2025, a battery light came on, that also activated the Start/Stop could not be used and needed service as well as Service Shifter. I brought the vehicle in and they simply replaced the auxiliary battery and sent me on my way. On November 13th, I was driving and a bat
... tery light came on as well as the Stop/Start not available error, and then moments later said "Stop Safely Vehicle will shut off soon". Thankfully I was only moments from home, and made it safely with my 5 children who were also in the van. Obviously this is dangerous as the vehicle stopping while driving can kill myself, my children, anyone in my vehicle, as well as cars around me as I live in a busy area, Tampa, FL. This car had just been given a review in March when put up for sale, and I had brought it in for an oil change, as well as a motor mount replacement, and the aux battery change, before this. My car has been serviced multiple times and this should have been checked or errors/updates reviewed. This auto/stop start seems to be a key in the safety issues as well since that light comes on every time there is an issue. Now the dealer states they are going to replace my PDC, main fuse box, and see if that fixes the error, but I have read that this is an error in many Chrysler Pacificas and mine is another.Read more

Both Honda and the dealer acknowledge this is a known issue affecting many Honda Accord owners, but no permanent fix exists. This car has had numerous transmission issues and a documented torque converter failure. Honda extended the warranty for 2018 pilots with these failures but did not include our vin number even though it’s the sane problem. They are refusing to fix it. This is a widespread issue and they are refusing to help us even though there are known manufacturing problems. The dealer hid this problem from

Dealer refusing to fix it even with these records and hiding this from us and Honda corporate doesn’t care and said they only have to fix the ones that have certain vin numbers even though it’s the same problem and systemic. On November 14, 2025, at approximately 0200 hours, in Fresno, California, I was driving southbound on Highway 99 at approximately 70 mph using cruise control. It was raining heavily at the time, and visibility was significantly reduced. I was traveling in the middle lane when I suddenly felt what I believed to be an impact on the driver side of my vehicle. Due to the weather conditions, I was unab
... le to visually identify what struck the vehicle. Immediately prior to this event, I noticed faint headlights in lane 1 (fast lane), but I could not determine whether that vehicle made contact with mine. At the moment of the perceived impact, the side curtain airbags deployed unexpectedly. I initially thought the deployment was a collision with another vehicle because the force felt like a physical impact. Once the curtain airbags deployed, I immediately lost control of the vehicle. Steering became impossible, and the vehicle veered off the roadway, ultimately coming to a stop on an embankment adjacent to the highway. California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene, took my statement, and inspected the vehicle. They reported no exterior body damage consistent with a collision. The following day, I visited the tow yard and conducted a daylight inspection of the vehicle, confirming that there was no visible impact damage on the body panels or exterior surfaces. After the on-scene investigation, the vehicle was towed, and the responding officer provided me with a courtesy ride. As a result of the incident, I sustained minor injuries, including whiplash, road rash on my left shoulder and upper forearm, and soreness in my neck. This event involved unexpected deployment of side curtain airbags without any confirmed collision, leading to loss of vehicle control, roadway departure, and driver injury. I am submitting this complaint for investigation into potential airbag or sensor malfunction.Read more

Component/System: The propulsion system of my 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, specifically a suspected internal transmission wiring-connector short—the exact hardware defect identified in Recall 23V-010 as capable of causing sudden loss of motive power. In my case, both propulsion sources (gas and electric) simultaneously ceased providing power, leaving the vehicle unable to accelerate. The vehic
... le, its transmission, and all hybrid-system components are available for inspection upon request. When inspected at the Chrysler dealership, technicians retrieved a diagnostic trouble code they acknowledged corresponds to the known wiring-connector short condition. This code was present before any recall procedures were performed. Safety Risk: I was traveling at highway speed with my family, the vehicle abruptly lost all motive power and began decelerating without my ability to maintain speed. I was forced to coast to the shoulder while surrounded by faster-moving traffic, exposing me and other motorists to the danger of a high-speed rear-end collision. Dealer Confirmation: The Chrysler dealer confirmed the presence of the wiring-connector-related fault code and agreed that it aligned with the recall defect pattern. However, they performed only the software update required under Recall 23V-010 and informed me that they would not undertake further inspection or physical diagnosis unless I paid out-of-pocket, despite the safety-critical nature of the failure. They are ignoring the fact that the physical underlying defect is not fixed by the software update, much to my frustration. With this unfixed, the car is not safe to drive IMO. Inspection: The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Chrysler dealer. No additional parties have inspected it. The dealer did not examine or repair the wiring harness or connector itself, refusing my request to do so. Warnings/Symptoms: A hybrid/electrical-system warning message appeared moments before the shutdown. No prior symptomsRead more
