On multiple occasions over the last 2 weeks the steering will lock up while driving. This is happening at different speeds and different locations. The steering wheel locks up and takes a few seconds to free up. This vehicle is unsafe for my family, because at any given time the steering could cause us to crash. The actuators on both sliding doors were replaced by a Chrysler dealership under a recent recall. Both doors had been having problems locking and unlocking. The actuator on the passenger sliding door had to be replaced twice, but the door continued having issues with getting stuck in the locked position. Then, while my teenager was driving 55 mph, the door spontaneously opened, even though all doors were locked while driving. Alarm bells sounded. Fortunately, I was with her and helped her to navigate to the shoulder of the road and put on the hazard lights so that I could try to shut the door. It did shut. This is a serious safety concern because my children usually are sitting in the back, right next to the sliding door. I am worried the door will randomly open while we are driving, or that the door will randomly lock them inside. It has not functioned properly since the dealership tried to replace the recalled actuator.Read more

They said they discovered there was faulty wiring and repaired it at the cost of just nearly $700. I picked up the car. I drove it for under an hour and it stopped in the middle of a busy street. I took the car back to the dealership. They kept it for two weeks and finally said they made it do the event again. They then proceeded to try to diagnose it. After a week or so they called to say they thought they had diagnosed the problem. However they could not get the part that they thought needed to be replaced. None seemed to be available. The dealership then called to say that they had found two parts but only one was available. I was informed that they weren’t sure they could get the part at all. (The cost for parts and labor will be $1000.) My car has now been in the dealership for almost a month. They tell me that they have no idea when the car will be fixed. I was also informed that even if they put this part in the car they cannot guarantee me the car will be safe to drive. I will not have any confidence in this car again. My tire size is 245/50 R 20. At 39,106 miles I had a bulge in the side of my front passenger tire. I had the tire replaced at the dealership. The cost was covered by my extended warranty with road hazard. A month later at 40,468, I had a bulge in the rear passenger tire. I went immediately to the dealership. They did not have the Falken tires in stock or available from their suppliers. My remainin
... g 2 tires were showing some normal wear for 40,000 miles. I made the decision to go with a different brand which would be available sooner. My warranty covered the cost of my second bulging tire. I of course had to pay for the 2 tires that were beginning to show some wear. I also chose to replace the front passenger Falken tire as well. The one that was replaced at 39,106 for a bulge in in the sidewall. I did this for 2 reasons. It is always best to have 4 tires of the same brand on a vehicle. Most importantly, I had already had 2 Falken tires develop a bulge in the sidewall. That is a failure rate of 50%. I did not feel comfortable with using Falken tires. In all my years driving, I have never had a bulge in a tire. I understand that it is usually caused by hitting potholes, driving over curbs, etc. but my driving habits are the same as before. I paid over a $1000.00 for 3 tires. Perhaps, this is not a safety issue with Falken tires that I should be reporting but I prefer erring on the side of caution. My feelings will not be hurt if you tell me I am wasting your time.Read more

Driving on the freeway without any noticeable trigger, the engine stalls. A message comes up saying shift to P to start. Pressing the accelerator doesn't do anything. Only think I can do is coast to the shoulder. After turning off the car and turning the car back on, the car worked fine. This has happened to me 3 times in the last month all going highway speeds.

For more than 2 years we have been dealing with intermittent hard shifting and the dealer, because they are not able to replicate they say they can't diagnose to be able to fix. I don't know if it is related or not but I thought I mention it since its a common customer complaint in the Pacifica Forums. We've learned to live with hard shifting can't really afford to buy a new car now, but this stopping while driving was the tip of the iceberg.
