Traveling down a country road on a clear afternoon, the vehicle traveled approximately 35 mph while cresting a small hill. On the other side of the hill was a "T" shaped intersection where another vehicle stopped in the intersection from a stop sign several feet behind. Just then, the onboard computer installed in the control panel of the drivers seat had acted upon either the obstruction or the switch in lanes and assumed complete control of the braking and steering systems. The driver was unable to retrieve control from the computer systems artificial intelligence before a direct crash occured with a telephone pole. Rendering the vehicle dangerous as live wires draped the saturated earth below the tires and feet of passengers exiting the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted, but no follow up has been made. Neither the police or insurance representatives have been helpful or any investigation made into this account. The red "BRAKE" light would quickly blink once every 2-3 minutes. Van would accelerated very slowly from low speeds or stopped position, would jolt forward or back aggressively, and could not overcome a moderate grade incline from being stopped. The odometer jumped quickly between 1k-4k rpm, but the engine did not appear to actually do so. When stopped and switching from D to R, reverse functioned similar to being in Neutral. The blue shifter gear knob lights would also blink. When turned off and back on, R would engage faster than normal. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request Driven with 3 family members in the vehicle when the malfunction occurred. My spouse verbally stated that she did not feel safe. With extreme caution, operated the van back home and chose lower speed roads. Would be hazardous to operate in a parking area or near pedestrians. Odometer was turned back from this dealership registered in New York State I believe it's very unfair for law-abiding citizens like myself to go through such a disastrous experience as well as almost losing $8,900, I'm kindly asking you to please investigate this matter because I believe most of the vehicles sold by this seller has fake odometer reading (mileage). Three times since this past summer, while driving approx. 30-40 mph the van's power shut down. We were able to steer and brake which allowed us to coast to a spot to stop. All three incidents occurred with children in the van during rush hour. We were forced to pull over on a dangerous section of road. The first incident the car did not restart for about 45 minutes. ... n about 5 minutes and the third attempt it took about 1 minute to restart. In each incident it appeared as if something in the electronics of the van shut down and eventually reset on its own. The "check engine" light came on after each of these incidents, but no indication prior that there was an issue. After multiple times in the dealership service center and with support from FCA Customer Care it was eventually decided that the transmission needed to be replaced which occurred in November. Since then there have been a few incidents where the van simply would not start. After some time and opening/closing doors, plugging/unplugging it, and pressing the start button, it eventually restarted. The check engine light came on again but would then turn off a few days later. We were told by the dealership that if the light was not on there was little they could. Then a few weeks ago (December) a similar incident occurred again where the car shut off, this time while driving about 10 mph. We brought the van to the dealership and again they investigated with support from FCA. We were told they investigated "connections" within the van but they were unable to find a definitive problem. Additionally they took the car for an extended test drive during which the van did not do the shut down problem. We have now been informed by the dealership that FCA is closing our case and we need to pick up the van. Because no problem was identified and fixed, we do not feel safe driving the van for fear that this problem will occur again which puts the people in the van at significant risk.Read more

When attempting to start, we received a "Service Charging System" error on the dash and the vehicle would not start. Fortunately after waiting several minutes we were able to get it started and made it to our destination. The next morning it did not start and we had it towed

The issue was reproduced at the dealer and they did some things to clear error codes, recalls, etc. and the vehicle started one day but then the issue reoccurred the next day. After three weeks they were able to upgrade the hybrid system software which seemed to do the trick. We picked up the vehicle and drove it home. Two weeks later on Christmas day when we were leaving a family party the issue came back and we were not able to get it started. The next day 12/26/22, we had it towed to the nearest dealer where it is currently at as of this writing. When it was delivered to the dealer the issue was still present however they did not bring it in to service for a week and when they did the issue was not there. They are working to recreate the issue to try and diagnose. There were no warnings or error messages in advance of this issue occurring. Luckily this issue did not happen while driving as that would have put myself and family in a dangerous system. The fact that this issue has not been resolved and seems to occur randomly is a major concern. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle knowing that this can happen and leave us stranded or in an unsafe situation. We are currently working with the dealer with hopes of a solution but this is a serious issue.Read more

On 11/19/22, while driving to a family member's for Thanksgiving week, we stopped to get gas and turned the vehicle off. When attempting to start, we received a "Service Charging System" error on the dash and the vehicle would not start. Fortunately after waiting several minutes we were able to get it started and made it to our destination. The next morning it did not start and we had it towed
... to the nearest dealer. The issue was reproduced at the dealer and they did some things to clear error codes, recalls, etc. and the vehicle started one day but then the issue reoccurred the next day. After three weeks they were able to upgrade the hybrid system software which seemed to do the trick. We picked up the vehicle and drove it home. Two weeks later on Christmas day when we were leaving a family party the issue came back and we were not able to get it started. The next day 12/26/22, we had it towed to the nearest dealer where it is currently at as of this writing. When it was delivered to the dealer the issue was still present however they did not bring it in to service for a week and when they did the issue was not there. They are working to recreate the issue to try and diagnose. There were no warnings or error messages in advance of this issue occurring. Luckily this issue did not happen while driving as that would have put myself and family in a dangerous system. Multiple times the van will intermittently stall while driving down the road or stopped in traffic. First the dash lights flicker, speedometer and rpm gages go to 0, and warning lights such as esp, traction, abs, airbag, battery etc flicker on and off and occasionally hear almost a spark through radio speakers, then everything shuts off, both electrical and mechanically. One time I could barely press the brake pedal, or steer and it was at night which means the vehicle was completely dark with no kinds of lights at an intersection with my 2 children and myself inside. So very scary! It gives me the worst anxiety to drive it and I'm too scared to sell it as I feel I would be knowingly selling a very unsafe vehicle. Occasionally the sliding side doors do not operate properly. First time the other night while the van was parked I hit the automatic shut button for the sliding door and lost all power to the vehicle and then it popped back in and operated fine. I have had multiple mechanics look at it and nobody can figure it out. Bought the van used in March or April of 2020 and had issues starting just 2 weeks after purchase. The van is now at around 108000 miles. I am out of money, a vehicle and options. Please help from a very scared and desperate mother who otherwise loves her minivan!Read more

On 1/02/2023, I was getting in the van and the driver side active headrest popped open. The vehicle was parked and was turned off when this happened. I searched online to see how to fix it and many customers have the same complaint and forums recommended that I report this to NHTSA. Please let me know if you need pictures or any other information.

The dealer replaced the mounting bracket with a revised bracket that was welded to the vehicle chassis; however, the dealer declined to add the suspension strap. As a result of the repair, the vehicle was no longer aligned. The contact stated that the vehicle sticker indicated that it had been modified by Eldorado National-Kansas.
