Seat back falls to complete recline position and base slides forward and back. I googled it and found this has been happening since 2017 it is a safety issue. My Granddaughter was riding in the seat and it collapsed backwards. I don’t think there are a lot of these seats out there because it only on limited cars.

We purchased a 2025 Chrysler Pacifica in September 2025. In October, 2025 we begin to receive Urgent Safety Recall notifications regaring Driver Side Curtain Air Bag. My husband went to the dealer where we purchased van and was told we would have to be on a waiting list and we were number 20 on her list. The dealer has never contacted us about scheduling a repair on the Driver Side Curtain Air
... Bag. We have made 3 trips to the dealer and have been told the same story...we are 20th on her list. The Recall clearly states that because of this defect, "occupant could be ejected during a crash." To us, that seems critical to have repaired. Chrysler evidently doesn't think so putting us at great risk in case we were in a accident. Stated in their Recall: "We are sincerely concerned about your safety and reiterating scheduling a repair". After two calls to the Customer Service at the company and 3 trips to the dealer, we are no closer to having this repair schedule. I thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide in helping us expedite this repair.Read more

While stopped at a traffic light on a downhill slope, my 2023 Chrysler Pacifica suddenly applied the brakes by itself and shifted into Park as I began to accelerate through the intersection. I have since learned that the 2023 Pacifica has numerous electrical‑system Technical Service Bulletins, and this appears to be an unintended Auto‑Park activation caused by an electrical or sensor fault. Vehicle details: 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, VIN [XXX]. I am submitting this complaint so this issue can be investigated as a potential safety defect affecting other vehicles as well. This incident scared me badly, and I no longer feel confident that the vehicle will behave predictably in traffic. I found the headrest exploded on the driver side when I got in the car in the morning. Apparently, this is common as I found it on the Internet while looking for a solution. Looks like a plastic part inside the headrest broke. AHR system inadvertently activated it seems. I’m glad I wasn’t in the car and it didn’t hit my head.

This vehicle has experienced three separate powertrain failures stemming from the same transmission defect (DTC P0A43 — Drive Motor Position Sensor, eFlite transmission). Incident 1 — April 19, 2026: Complete sudden loss of motive power on the highway with family aboard. Vehicle towed to Castle Rock Chrysler CDJR. Failed Repair — May 8, 2026: Chrysler corporate mandated a software flash ra
... ther than a hardware repair. Vehicle failed identically within 10 miles of pickup in live highway traffic. Towed back same day. Incident 3 — June 6, 2026: A replacement transmission was installed. Within one week of pickup, a progressive transmission whine developed followed by visible smoke from the engine compartment while driving. Vehicle was immediately pulled over and towed to avoid a third highway failure. Chrysler's own STAR engineering team (TSB 21-014-26) has documented this as a known defect requiring transmission rebuild or replacement. Chrysler blocked a full transmission replacement for over 5 weeks citing backorder, then located one within hours when a repurchase review was requested. This defect causes sudden loss of motive power at highway speeds with no warning, creating an immediate safety hazard. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this defect pattern on 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid vehicles and evaluate whether a safety recall is warranted.Read more

I am a full-time power wheelchair user with Multiple Sclerosis and rely on this 2024 Chrysler Pacifica wheelchair-accessible van as my primary means of transportation. Since purchase, the vehicle has repeatedly experienced dangerous loss-of-power events while being driven. Immediately before the failure occurs, warning beeps sound and multiple warning lights illuminate, including Check Engine, ET
... C, Park Brake, FCW, ESC, and MIL. After these warnings appear, the vehicle loses acceleration and enters a reduced-power/limp-mode condition. Pressing the accelerator does not result in normal acceleration, creating a serious safety hazard in traffic. Most recently, on June 4, 2026, this occurred approximately six times during a single trip. During one incident, the warning lights illuminated, the vehicle lost acceleration, and we were forced to pull over with emergency flashers activated in a dangerous location. A police officer came upon us, stopped to assist, and advised that the location was extremely dangerous. Because I use a power wheelchair, I cannot safely transfer into a standard vehicle, taxi, rideshare, or other transportation. We explained to the officer that if the van were to be towed, I would effectively be stranded because there was no practical way to transport me in my power wheelchair. The condition later cleared and we were able to continue. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by Chrysler service departments and DriveMaster, the local mobility provider working with Freedom Motors. The problem has been reported repeatedly but is intermittent and has not been reproduced during inspections. Despite multiple repair attempts, the problem persists. The vehicle is available for inspection. These recurring loss-of-power events create a serious safety risk for myself, my family, and other motorists.Read more

The steering wheel in my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is sticking or catching, especially during turns or when trying to return the steering wheel back to the centered position. Unknown cause. The steering system nearly consistently exhibits a sticking sensation during gradual turns, particularly when the steering wheel is positioned near the 11 o'clock or 1 o'clock position, and very noticeably at h
... ighway/freeway speeds. A very dangerous situation. During these events, there is increased steering effort required to return the steering wheel back to center. After or during the correction of the steering wheel back to the center position after these events, there seems to be some type of a sudden reactivation of the power steering assistance. It feels extremely dangerous to continue to operate this vehicle with this current condition.Read more

I purchased my 2020 Chrysler Pacifica in January 2020. By April 2021, I began experiencing ongoing issues that have never been fully resolved. In the six years I have owned this vehicle, I have gone through six batteries. The vehicle has stalled in the middle of the road and, at other times, has failed to start altogether. The vehicle also does some jolting randomly which can be very harsh to the
... passengers inside. I specifically purchased this vehicle because of its safety features, as I have young children. Unfortunately, these repeated failures have left me feeling unsafe and concerned about the reliability of the vehicle. Each time I have brought the Pacifica to the dealership, the battery has been replaced or recharged and I have been told the issue was fixed. However, within six months to a year, the same problem returns and the vehicle is back in the shop. The issue has occurred again, and I am at a loss as to what to do next. It is clear that there is an underlying problem that has not been properly diagnosed or repaired. After six years of recurring breakdowns and unsuccessful repair attempts, I have been unable to fully enjoy or rely on this vehicle. I am requesting that this matter be taken seriously and that a thorough investigation be conducted to permanently resolve this ongoing issue. Given the repeated repair history and the safety concerns involved, I believe this situation warrants immediate attention.Read more

While driving my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, the vehicle experienced a sudden, severe malfunction of the Electric Power Steering (EPS) system. The dashboard illuminated a "Service Power Steering" warning light, which was accompanied by an immediate, complete loss of power steering assist. The steering wheel became extremely stiff and heavy. It required immense physical force to steer. This failure occ

The vehicle also suddenly restored power assist while I was using the extra force which made driving very dangerous. I use my minivan to drive my kids to school every day and this hazard could have resulted in tragic loss of life especially with an infant and three toddlers in my car. I just noticed that the safety probe PE25009 has been opened last year with no recalls yet. Please help us resolve this ASAP as this is a critical, life-threatening, safety issue.Read more

The vehicle has an unresolved electrical/propulsion failure involving sudden shutdowns while driving and CAN C bus/lost-communication faults. Since the high-voltage battery was replaced through a recall-related repair, the vehicle has had repeated shutdown/loss-of-communication events, occurring dozens of times. In the most serious incidents, while driving at speed, the dash flickered, windshield
... wipers activated unexpectedly, headlights turned off, turn signals would not work, and steering locked or became difficult to control. The vehicle then completely shut off while still moving. After shutdown, the hazard lights would not work. One documented incident occurred on the interstate at about 70 mph. This puts occupants and others at risk because the vehicle can suddenly lose motive power and critical electrical/control functions at the same time, including lighting, signals, hazards, instrument display, and steering/control assistance. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by a Chrysler dealership. Dealer records documented multiple modules losing communication on the CAN C bus. The dealer replaced the shifter module as a possible contributor, but the problem continued. The dealer later corrected loose pin tension at a communication/star connector, but the vehicle continued to shut down and later scan reports still showed widespread active/stored CAN and lost-communication faults across powertrain, hybrid control, body control, braking/ABS, steering, and shifter-related systems. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The problem has been confirmed by dealer scan reports and repair records, but the root cause remains unresolved. The manufacturer has been contacted through customer care and repair/scan documentation was submitted. The exact root cause is UNKNOWN, but dealer findings indicate an unresolved major electrical/CAN communication problem possibly involving the harness, connector network, or communication system.Read more

2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The vehicle has ongoing steering, electrical, and power steering/EPS failures. The steering wheel intermittently jerks/pulls while driving, the vehicle has experienced random loss of steering assist, and the electrical system cuts out or malfunctions during normal use. The steering wheel lights and backup camera guidelines also disappear during driving sessions and only ret

The exact root cause is UNKNOWN, but the affected systems appear to include the EPS/power steering system, steering/suspension components, battery/electrical system, and possibly related control modules. My safety and others’ safety were put at risk because the vehicle has lost steering assist and had electrical failure while being driven, including a prior failure in an intersection. When the steering assist drops or the wheel jerks, the vehicle becomes difficult to control. This is especially dangerous because I transport my family in this vehicle. The issue has been reported repeatedly since purchase. The vehicle was inspected/repaired through Carvana/SilverRock’s repair process at Brockman Automotive, including rack and pinion/steering-related work. After that repair, the vehicle continued to drift and handle improperly. A later independent inspection at Davidson Automotive identified a loose/not properly secured tie rod, alignment problems, and a failed auxiliary battery. The shop could not complete deeper diagnostics until those prerequisite issues were corrected. The vehicle has also suffered abnormal front tire wear after the steering/alignment problems. Warning/symptoms before or during failures include steering wheel jerking/pulling, clunking/clanking/grinding/groaning noises, vehicle drift, service start/stop warning, electrical malfunctions, intermittent steering wheel control/light issues, loss of backup camera guidelines, and loss of steering assist. The vehicle/component is available for inspection upon request.Read more

High voltage battery pack, Power Inverter Module (PIM), and HV charging system. PIM replaced twice (p/n 68381781AD, 8/4/25 and 8/18/25) after being found melted with arcing damage at HV connections. Battery pack has active BPCM fault codes and a recorded cell voltage excursion. Vehicle available for inspection. Vehicle lost all motive power without warning at highway speed on multiple occasions,
... requiring the driver to pull over. This occurred on a platform subject to recall 24V-536 (HV battery fire risk). A melted inverter and arcing at HV connections were found on a vehicle still being driven daily. BPCM data shows Cell 79 recorded a voltage excursion to 1,526 mV — less than half minimum safe operating voltage — stored in permanent memory. Yes. Lawless Inc. (Woburn, MA), authorized Chrysler dealer, confirmed fault codes PA121-00 and P0A43-00 on 8/4/25 and replaced the PIM. Vehicle returned 8/18/25 with same failure — dealer confirmed arcing damage and melted inverter. Three visits total; defect unresolved after two repair attempts on the same component. All three visits performed by authorized Chrysler dealer under 10-year/100,000-mile HV battery warranty. Stellantis warranty claim opened each visit. No police or insurance involvement. Red warning "Will Lose All Power" appeared on instrument cluster before each shutdown. Battery range has displayed erratically since 2/28/25 (~17,788 miles), when nonlinear discharge was first reported and dismissed. Active BPCM Level 2 safety fault (L2/L1 CELL MAX V CMP_FLT) remains present today.Read more

2018 Chrysler Pacifica exhibits severe 'sticky' and binding steering at highway speeds (70+ mph). When maintaining a straight line or slight left curve, the steering wheel notches and resists physical effort when trying to turn back to the right. Correcting the vehicle requires sudden, excessive force to break the electronic resistance, causing a jerky movement that risks overcorrection and loss o

Due to safety concerns of this Urgent Safety Recall, I do not feel comfortable using the vehicle to transport myself or my family and the manufacturer has sent me notices regarding the recall and "claims" the parts are available on their recall information website - I beg to differ since I have not been able to get anyone give me a time frame for repair of this safety recall... Action (lack of) from the manufacturer is not acceptable. I have notified my Family Attorney of all the contact notes (dealer, manufacturer, NTHSA) and mailings from the manufacturer, regarding this recall in the event something occurs related to the CAB's before the repair can be completed.Read more

My 2017 Chrysler Pacifica steering wheel started locking in place at approximately 10 a 2 o'clock the other day as we were on a couple hundred-mile trip over the Memorial Day weekend. We looked up the symptoms, it said there was a recall for the Power Steering Assist v53/NHTSA 19V-348. I drove the car slowly the entire way home and set up an appointment at CDJR of Morgantown for the next day May25
... th at 8am. After arriving at the dealership, I was informed that this particular recall was closed, although its description fit exactly what my car had been doing the previous day. I informed them that my main battery IBS had been broken for nearly a year and wondered if that could have been the problem also. They took the car at 8am and at 9 am the man at the desk that had been helping me came to the waiting room and informed me that URSE dodge (where I bought the vehicle in 2017) showed record of performing the recall check " That's a lie" I replied! None the less, at 10 am they reported to me that the auxiliary battery had 0 CCA and needed replaced and that the IBS would also need replaced, all of which would run me nearly 1000 dollars. I asked when they could get the IBS and the parts department said 5 days, I asked the gentleman that had originally been helping me if they checked the ground wire from the original recall and he said yes, and it was fine. I changed the auxiliary battery and the IBS myself at Advance Auto yesterday and after I had the main battery hot lead off it also cleared all the codes that the dealership said was on the vehicle (electrical codes). I drove the vehicle yesterday and I can't say for sure that it did it, although I believe it stuck lightly a couple of times. The IBS and the auxiliary battery are my fault, I should have addressed them sooner. The bigger issue here is that URSE dodge in Fairmont never called me, I never received a recall notice.Read more
