Today is 1/21/26. My car has had problems since 12/4/25 when I started getting drivetrain warning lights. After "call roadside assistance" prompts, it will start, but a drivetrain fault appears on the dash. Many faults have appeared at the dealer and I have it in writing that there is nothing more they can do. They escalated the issue to BMW with no resolution, to date. I have requested a buy-back
... and they no longer return my calls. In terms of safety, I'm not sure what could happen if the drivetrain fault light is on. On three separate occasions, it told me that the car was in danger of rolling over when I was on a flat surface. Another time, the car wouldn't go over 30 mph. This didn't feel safe! The dealer has reloaded software many times. Once they said I could pick it up and when I started it to drive home, the fault light appeared. They said other cars have come in for similar issues, but the software update has solved the problem. They said they have never seen anything like this before. As far as I know, other than the local dealer, all other BMW inspections have been done remotely. Documentation of what as happened every day is attached. I received the 2022 Hybrid Ford Maverck XLT on March 2023, and had first 12V battery replacement on August 2023 as it was dysfunctional leading to car stalling. On 01/11/2026, the truck suddenly got stalled during drive due to the dysfunction (8.0V) again of the 12V battery, which triggered several error codes. Obviously, this is the truck defect can may pose catastrophic risk to driver and surrounding drivers. I searched Google and found more 2022 Maverick with such serious issue! My total cost of repair and towing from this defect is $1145.11. Thank God that my family was safe during the sudden stalling while driving. This design change appears to directly address the same water accumulation issue that caused the failure in my vehicle. The failure results in loss of the vehicle’s ability to charge, rendering the vehicle inoperable. Tesla declined to repair the issue, stating the vehicle is out of warranty, despite acknowledging the design change in later models. I wanted to register a complaint on an issue we have experienced in our 2024 Honda Prologue EX Elite with the "CV axles." This vehicle was sold to us with like-new mileage and was also certified, pre-owned by Honda. Based on many blog postings about consumer experiences with this issue, I believe it would have been difficult for Honda to unknowingly sell this car with this as a design defect, and it does not have a fix other than replacing with the same part which is prone to failure. Again, this claim can be backed up by many other consumer postings which reference defective CV axles being replaced multiple times. We would have made a wiser decision on purchase selection and are now concerned about resale value of the car. ... stem failure due to large evaporator leaks. In total, three evaporators have now been confirmed as leaking across these two vehicles. The 2020 XC60 experienced evaporator failure in May 2025 and required full evaporator replacement under its CPO warranty. The 2019 XC90 subsequently developed the same issue. After multiple independent inspections and a full diagnostic performed by Volvo, they have confirmed that both the front and rear evaporators were leaking. The total repair estimate exceeds seven thousand dollars. Despite the statistical improbability of two vehicles purchased months apart suffering identical HVAC system failures within months of ownership, Volvo Cars North America denied my goodwill assistance request. The denial was based solely on the fact that a prior owner of the XC90 had previously received an unrelated goodwill repair. I was not informed of this at the time of purchase and had no connection to that prior claim. I then filed a complaint with the BBB against Volvo Cars North America. Volvo did not respond at all. The BBB has now formally closed the case and recorded that Volvo failed to respond to the complaint. I have acted in good faith at every step. I paid for diagnostics. I provided complete documentation. I pursued proper escalation channels. I sought resolution through the BBB. Volvo has remained silent. This is not an isolated service matter. It reflects a potential systemic defect affecting multiple Volvo platforms and model years. The repeated evaporator failures raise serious concerns as far us intaking large freon amounts. I am submitting this complaint regarding a manufacturer safety recall affecting my vehicle that has not been remedied and is creating a safety concern. My vehicle is subject to NHTSA Safety Recall 25V-586 (Alfa Romeo Recall 93C) involving a defective fuel pump / fuel delivery module that may cause loss of drive power while driving. However, the dealership informed me that Alfa Romeo has not yet released a final repair remedy and therefore they cannot perform the recall repair at this time. I contacted Alfa Romeo Customer Care and was advised that the dealership could run diagnostics and potentially perform a temporary or interim repair related to the fuel pump issue. When I relayed this information to the dealership, I was told that I would be required to pay out of pocket for parts and labor and wait for reimbursement once Alfa Romeo releases a final recall solution. I do not believe it is appropriate or compliant with safety recall requirements for a customer to be required to prepay for parts and labor related to a confirmed manufacturer safety defect. This recall involves a loss of engine power, which poses a safety risk while driving. At this time, no no-cost repair, interim fix, or alternative transportation has been offered, and I am being placed in a position where a known safety defect remains unresolved unless I pay out of pocket. I am requesting NHTSA review this matter, as the recall has been acknowledged but not properly supported with a no-cost remedy or alternative solution for the affected consumer.Read more

Looking at the manual, I see that there is supposed to be a warning sound when any door/hood/liftgate is open while driving, as quoted below. If someone else confirms this is normal behaviour, then I think we should file a safety defect complaint with the NHTSA and Transport Canada. “Door-ajar Warning Light/Liftgate-open Warning Light/Hood-open Warning Light The light turns on if any door/liftgate/hood is not closed securely. In addition, the warning sound is activated if any door/trunk lid/liftgate is not closed and the vehicle is driven. Close the door/liftgate/hood securely.” This was a very scary situation.
