Water intrusion occurred inside the rear taillight assembly, resulting in visible moisture/condensation within the housing and subsequent taillight malfunction/failure. The affected taillight performs critical rear lighting functions, including brake and signaling illumination. The presence of water inside the sealed taillight assembly indicates a failure of the lens or housing seal. Over time, m
... oisture intrusion caused degradation and failure of the lighting function. Loss or impairment of rear lighting reduces the vehicle’s visibility to other drivers, particularly at night or during adverse weather conditions, creating a safety risk related to rear-end collisions and improper signaling. The condition developed during normal vehicle use and exposure to rain and environmental moisture. No collision, impact, or external damage occurred prior to the failure. No dashboard warning messages or alerts were observed prior to discovering the issue. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized dealership, which confirmed the taillight failure. The dealership stated the light source is not serviceable and that the entire taillight assembly must be replaced. The manufacturer acknowledged the issue but stated the vehicle was outside the warranty period and offered only a partial goodwill assistance of approximately 20%, leaving an out-of-pocket repair cost exceeding $800. Multiple consumer reports and online owner discussions document similar instances of water intrusion and taillight failure on Chevrolet Bolt vehicles, suggesting a potential pattern related to taillight design or sealing rather than isolated damage or maintenance-related failure. The affected taillight assembly remains available for inspection upon request.Read more

I attempted to remote start my 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid from inside my home using the Toyota mobile app. I received a confirmation notification stating that the vehicle had started and would automatically shut off in 10 minutes. Approximately six minutes later, I exited my home and approached the vehicle, which was not running. After unlocking and entering the vehicle, the interior temperature conf
... irmed that the vehicle had not been running. I attempted to start the vehicle by pressing the brake pedal and pushing the start button. No dashboard lights illuminated, no warning messages appeared, and the vehicle was completely unresponsive. I attempted this process two additional times with the same result. After exiting the vehicle and closing the driver’s door, I attempted to lock the vehicle using the touch sensor on the driver-side door handle. The vehicle would not lock. I attempted this a second time and it still would not lock, indicating a complete loss of electrical power. This failure occurred in cold weather conditions and involved the hybrid battery and associated electrical system. The loss of power created a safety risk because the vehicle could not be secured and could have left me stranded in cold weather. Later that day, I contacted my insurance company for roadside assistance. A tow truck arrived and jump-started the vehicle using a portable jump box, which allowed the vehicle to start and the battery to recharge. A Toyota service appointment is scheduled to inspect the vehicle. The issue has not yet been confirmed by a dealer. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or other representatives. Only the roadside assistance tow truck driver responded. The vehicle and battery are available for inspection upon request.Read more

On [XXX], while driving approximately 30 mph, my vehicle displayed the warning “STOP SAFELY – ELECTRICAL FAULT DETECTED.” I immediately pulled over and restarted the vehicle, but the warning reappeared. Due to safety concerns and proximity to my home, I cautiously continued driving. Two blocks from my residence, I stopped briefly and received a message stating “BATTERY LOW – PLEASE STAR
... T ENGINE.” After restarting and turning the vehicle off again, the original warning cleared; however, the vehicle has been completely inoperable since [XXX]. The SUV was towed for battery replacement and then towed again after diagnosis confirmed a failed DC-DC converter. The dealership has advised the earliest availability of the replacement part is February 19, 2026, resulting in over two months of total vehicle downtime. I have received minimal updates during this time. I reported this issue to Land Rover/JLR but have not received follow-up or resolution. Based on my research, DC-DC converter failure is a known safety issue, and JLR has prior awareness of this defect. This failure presents a serious safety concern due to loss of electrical function while driving, possibly emergency brake issue, along with unreasonable repair delays related to a known issue. I am requesting acknowledgement of this safety concern, clear communication regarding my case, and appropriate assistance due to the extended downtime and still having to pay a monthly car payment/insurance and manufacture warranty just expiring at the 50,000 miles. The driver information center suddenly indicated steering assist disabled, temperature gauge drops to below cold, air conditioning blows warm air. In August 2025, AutoNation Toyota on Sahara, checked the VIN of my Toyota Sienna and contacted Toyota while I was present. Toyota confirmed a broken fuel-door hinge was covered under a Customer Support Program. Instead, AutoNation attempted to repair, rather than replace, the hinge. This caused the metal fuel cap door to end up bent, paint to be gouged out from the bottom of the fuel door area, mi
... salignment of the fuel door, and therefore issues with the door’s sensor reading correctly. I took the van back until they received shipment of a new fuel cap door. After the attempted repair, since the fuel door no longer aligned, the safety sensors repeatedly activated which strained the sliding-door ECU. The passenger sliding door began freezing intermittently, forcing my children to exit through the trunk several times. Finally, the door opened on its own as I was driving down the street. These issues did not exist prior to dealership service and presented a clear safety concern. Between October and December, I received conflicting explanations from Gerald, James, Ivan, and Rudy at AutoNation Toyota regarding whether the issue involved the fuel door, ECU, motor, or general wear and tear. AutoNation repeatedly failed to return my calls or respond to the emails I sent them. Toyota Corporate also informed me the dealership was also not responding to their outreach attempts after I contacted them due to not being able to get ahold of AutoNation Toyota. I emailed four managers on October 15 with detailed documentation and received no response. My vehicle remains unsafe, unrepaired, and in the possession of AutoNation Toyota. I approve allowing it to be inspected. While at AutoNation, the vehicle driver could not open the passenger sliding door after AutoNation's attempted repair. They have had my van for 4 months now so no one else has looked at or inspected it. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.Read more

The upper radiator hose on some huge percentage of these trucks fail (mine has failed at just over 37K miles). You can check the Colorado Chevy forum, youtube, etc., et al, and find plenty of instances where this has failed. As this is the cooling system, it can cause the engine to overheat and potentially ruin the engine. The flaw seems to be an engineering issue with the rubber seal they use (in

Instead, my local Chevy dealer, since its not a recall item, said they could schedule a time next week for me to LEAVE the truck and then they would get to it in 7-10 days. Since the dealership was closed, I was forced to stay an additional night in a nearby hotel and paid $106.46. The vehicle was inspected by Countryside Chevrolet, who diagnosed the issue as a failure of the fuel pump control module however I was informed that this VIN was not covered under warranty or any special coverage, despite the fact that we experienced the exact same failure on our 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, which was covered under warranty for this same defect. I was forced to pay $708.72 for the repair. This inconsistency is unacceptable—especially considering GMs extensive history of complaints, recalls, & class action litigation involving defective fuel pump & fuel system components, which present a well-documented safety risk. I filed a complaint with GM Customer Care (Case XXX). I submitted all required receipts for repairs, towing & hotel, however GM denied my claim without providing any explanation, only stating VIN was “not covered.” Also, GM refused to provide a written justification & my request for a manager callback was ignored. No consideration was given to the safety implications of this failure. This response is unacceptable & demonstrates a failure to take responsibility for a known safety defect. 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned? The windshield wiper system failed. The design of the cowl area (under the hood) allows snow and sleet to accumulate and become compacted. This creates a physical obstruction that prevents the wiper linkage from moving, leading to total wiper failure. • Availability: The system is available for inspection upon request. 2. How was safety put at
... risk? Safety was compromised due to a sudden loss of visibility during inclement weather. The inability to clear snow and sleet from the windshield while driving created a blind operating environment, significantly increasing the risk of a crash or striking an unseen hazard. 3. Has the problem been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealership or independent service center. 4. Has the vehicle been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance? No. The vehicle and its components have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives at this time. 5. Were there any warning lamps or symptoms prior to the failure? No. There were no warning lamps, error messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. The wipers stopped functioning only once the snow had compacted sufficiently under the hood to block the mechanism.Read more

The ABS violently stops at random times in parking lots or reversing from my garage going FWD or backwards, screen has turned black, software updates won’t go through, charging issues/wont charge, premature inner tire wear notably in the right rear passenger side, doors, especially passenger doors, won’t open, the heat is nonexistent in the rear & barely works in the front, most recently a cod
... e popped up in my app for powertrain. VW dealer wouldn’t specify until I came in person a month later & allowed me to take a picture of the code (attached) “Driving an EV with a P0AA600 isolation fault is dangerous, as it indicates a failure in the high-voltage (HV) system's insulation, causing current to leak to the chassis. Risks include severe electric shock or electrocution, fire hazards from damaged components, and potential complete vehicle failure or refusal to start.”Read more

Most vehicles with ABS experience what I call “ABS shudder/jutter” when applying brakes across a road seam where the road surface is uneven or a rut in the road. In this particular case while applying the brakes across a long rut in the road, the “ABS shudder/jutter” was much worse. NOT SPEEDING and having plenty of distance to stop. With brake pedal to the floor several times, the
... vehicle continued to move forward. The last few feet before colliding with a pickup truck, although the road was completely dry, the vehicle was driving forward yet sliding forward slowly. Felt no different than being on ice. Collision aversion system did nothing to help avoid. There is also only electronic parking brake and not an emergency brake to pull a handle on to assist in stopping. Dealership wasn’t able to find anything simply by driving around and slamming on the brakes and not finding any error codes. Regional technician currently scheduled to be here the 27th of Jan. Several people online have expressed similar concerns, just haven’t hit anything. I feel that the issue lies with the ABS system specifically braking over uneven road seams or ruts in the road and my experience is being discounted.Read more

I am submitting this complaint to report a potential vehicle safety defect involving the factory-installed running boards on a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe. The running boards become extremely slippery during light snow or minimal winter precipitation, creating a significant risk of slipping while entering or exiting the vehicle. This occurs during normal use and does not require heavy snow or ice. I hav
... e experienced multiple near-falls despite stepping carefully, and the condition is repeatable. Given that the Chevrolet Tahoe is commonly used as a family vehicle and may be accessed by children, elderly individuals, or passengers with limited mobility, I am concerned that the running boards present an unreasonable slip hazard under common winter driving conditions. At this time, no injury has occurred; however, the frequency and severity of the slipping raises concern for potential injury if the issue is not addressed. The running boards are factory-installed and have not been modified. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue to determine whether the design or materials of the factory running boards meet reasonable safety standards for normal winter conditions. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Radiator started leaking in <3000 miles of driving the brand new GLE 580 Mercedes Benz. Twice I got errors in the car that stated check coolant level I could hear liquid moving in the front of the car when I parked it. Once while driving, the AC totally stopped working and on the entire drive, I couldn't feel the cool air. I also got 48V battery issue during this drive. I called the dealer and t
... hey said not to worry and that they will top off coolant. A few weeks later, I got another error and this time I took the car in and the dealer said that the radiator was impact by an "unidentified debris", had developed a leak and coolant was leaking. They refused to cover this under warranty and I had to pay out of pocket despite multiple requests to cover under warranty. This was a brand new car, no accident, this happened under normal driving conditions. The dealer and the manufacturer have failed to provide any documentation or engineering review. I believe this was a problem that existed in the vehicle prior to my purchase, i was sold a defective vehicle and Mercedes Benz didn't have proper protection in place for the radiator. I request NHTSA to do a thorough review.Read more
