The incident involved a 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer, purchased new in late February 2025. The failure appears related to the vehicle’s electrical/charging system and associated control modules, resulting in a sudden loss of critical safety systems. The vehicle was towed by GM Roadside Assistance and is currently at an authorized Chevrolet dealership, where it is available for inspection upon requ
... est. While driving in Cambria, New York, the dashboard illuminated with multiple warning indicators and the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power steering and braking. The brake pedal traveled fully to the floor with no resistance and no braking effect. Steering effort increased dramatically. The driver was only able to avoid a crash due to favorable road and traffic conditions and was able to coast to a stop and pull off the roadway. This failure posed an immediate and serious risk of injury or death to the driver and others. The problem had occurred previously in the form of repeated warning messages. Beginning within the first week of ownership, the vehicle displayed “Service the Charge System Vehicle May Stall” warnings and since then has appeared hundreds of times. The vehicle was previously towed to an authorized Chevrolet dealership, where we were informed that General Motors identified the issue as a known software-related problem and advised that the vehicle could continue to be driven while awaiting a future update. The catastrophic failure occurred after this guidance. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Chevrolet dealership both prior to and following this incident, and General Motors has been involved through dealership communication. No police or insurance inspection has occurred, as no collision resulted. Based on the repeated warnings, dealer statements, and nature of the failure, the best assessment is an electrical or software-related malfunction, though the precise root cause remains UNKNOWN and requires investigation.Read more

I'm driving down the road and unexpectedly the power steering completely goes out and the car is almost impossible to steer. When I shut the car off it usually resets sometimes for only a couple seconds, sometimes longer before the power steering fails again. It has happened in the middle of multiple turns, highways driving, city driving and is very dangerous. If you look online it is a very commo
... n issue amongst other Subaru models with the same steering system, as well as the wrx but not for my year. If you look online you will see multiple people complaining about it. Messaged Subaru and they said they weren't concerned with the safety issue, they were only concerned about it not being covered under warranty anymore. I did take it to a Subaru dealership and they even said it was very common and didn't even really look at the car to diagnose and its around 3000 to repair. This is going to cause an accident at some point if not in my car someone else's. It doesn't matter either what speeds you are going if it happens. It has happened multiple different days so I'm only putting today in since it happened today as well.Read more

The A/C evaporator core in my 2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat has failed twice within a short period of ownership. The first failure occurred at approximately 20K miles in 2022, when the air conditioning suddenly stopped blowing cold air. The dealership diagnosed a leaking evaporator core and replaced it under warranty. On [XXX] at approximately 50k, the exact same failure occurred again — loss of r
... efrigerant and no cooling. The vehicle again required replacement of the evaporator core, a repair that involves removing the entire dashboard and is extremely labor-intensive and expensive. This appears to be a recurring defect rather than normal wear. I have learned that many other Dodge Charger and Challenger owners report identical evaporator failures, often multiple times, suggesting a possible design or manufacturing flaw with the HVAC evaporator used in these vehicles. Loss of A/C may seem like a comfort issue, but in extreme heat it can create a driver-safety risk due to overheating, window defogging problems, and driver fatigue. I live in Arizona where daytime temperatures regularly climb above 80 degrees, even in the winter. A major component like an evaporator should not repeatedly fail in a late-model vehicle. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether 2019–2022 Dodge Charger/Challenger vehicles are experiencing an abnormal rate of evaporator core failures that may warrant a recall, extended warranty, or technical service bulletin. Repairs Performed: • Evaporator core replaced in 2022 at Bill Luke Chrysler / Dodge in Phoenix, AZ • Evaporator core replaced again on February 4th, 2026 at AAA Auto Repair in Phoenix, AZ • Refrigerant leak confirmed both times • Dash removal required for repair Supporting Documents Available: Repair orders, dealership invoices, diagnostic reports INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Hello, since I purchased the vehicle on October 1, 2025, there have been issues regarding collison system and adaptive cruise control. When driving down the road it will try to come to a complete stop with no reasoning. It happens more often when it is rainy and night time. I believe the collision system is conufsed with oncoming traffic and it thinks they are on my side of the road but they are n
... ot. I also get alerts with side mirrors and shaking of my seat when no one is beside me. It triggers to say someone or a vehicle is approaching from the side, but there is no one or nothing there. The issue that is most troubling is I almost hit someone in the rear end on 02-03-2026. I went to slow down for a traffic light, and it started slowing down, but then got a surge and would not allow me to stop any more. It kept going. I had to remove my foot from the brake and hit it again harder. It has happened a few times, but not in a situation like this. Thankfully I was following a safe distance or I may have hit the vehicle stopped in front of me. Similar situation happened a few times, one when I was pulling into an Applebees to eat, the brake did not want to stop the vehicle. It was like a surge of power again. This time was not as bad as no one or a vehicle was not in front of me. I have also noticed it a few times driving and when I go to stop the surge, but it seems to be escalating. I do not have the auto start stop on, I switch it off as soon as I start the vehicle. I do not have the auto hold on when it happens either. I have an appointment on the 16th of February to hopefully get it looked at, but will see.Read more

I was driving on an overpass and suddenly loss propulsion in my vehicle. My vehicle stopped all of a sudden and while driving, leaving me stranded in the middle of the roadway blocking traffic. Numerous motorists stopped to give a hand but the vehicle would not switch gears from PARK, to neutral to even give me a hand moving the vehicle out of the roadway to the side/shoulder. Due to this issue, a

I used OnStar in my vehicle and also spoke with a representative who notated the incident and I was advised that a tow truck would take approximately 90 mins to 2 hours to reach me. In this instance, that was too long of a wait for events going wrong with the vehicle itself and was subsequently transferred from the roadway to a GMC dealership, namely Group 1 South on the Gulf Freeway. They are handling my repairs and have diagnosed that the engine needs to be completely replaced and are in the process of repairs. We have had several problems with our 2021 Nissan Kicks, all of which are safety concerns, and all of which have have occurred at well under 100,000 miles. We purchased the vehicle from a Nissan dealer in January of 2022. 1 - Rust is bubbling up from under the paint. I am told this is perforating rust that could easily spread to or originate from the frame of the vehicle. This could cause the enti
... re structure to fail. Despite the 5 year, no mileage limitation warranty for perforating rust, Nissan has refused to comply with the warranty. At the executive complaint level, they have admitted that the warranty exists, but at the repair level, Nissan has repeatedly informed the Dealer that the vehicle is not covered by a rust warranty or that the warranty expired based on mileage. The person at the corporate complaint level refuses to speak with the dealer or affirm the coverage in writing. At the repair level, Nissan has offered a fix outside of warranty coverage (a patch) which does not provide the continuing coverage provided by a warranty repair (which requires replacement of the panel). I have spent countless hours taking the car in to have it looked at and on the phone to try to get coverage with no success. 2 - The structural metal on the inside of the drivers door is cracking. We took the car in for repair because the window was not working but when they opened it up, they found that the the structural metal of the door itself where the window mechanism is attached has cracked. We have video indicating this may be a design defect in addition to poor materials. The Nissan dealer is not helpful, saying only that they don't have a body shop. Body shops say the entire door needs to be replaced but do not want to get involved with seeking help from Nissan. 3 - The CVT transmission failed just after the manufacturers warranty expired which is way too early for this problem. By some miracle, most of the cost was covered by a third party warranty company.Read more

The vehicle has developed a serious transmission defect involving harsh shifting, delayed engagement, and repeated slipping into neutral while driving. Since picking the vehicle up from Key Acura after an inspection, the condition has worsened significantly. The “Check Engine” light, the flashing “D” indicator, and the transmission warning light are now consistently illuminated. Prior to t
... he dealer visit, these warning lights were intermittent; they are now on at all times. The vehicle can unexpectedly lose propulsion or fail to accelerate, which creates a safety risk during normal driving, especially when merging, crossing intersections, or turning. The symptoms are consistent with the known torque converter and transmission issues documented in Acura Service Bulletin 23‑029, which applies to 2017–2018 RDX models. The dealer inspected the vehicle but did not perform repairs, and the drivability and safety concerns have become more severe since the visit. Acura/Honda Client Relations has been contacted and a case is open, but no resolution has been provided. Over the past several years, there have been multiple instances where I or my wife are driving on the highway and the engine light comes on or starts flashing, and I am unable to go faster than 50 miles an hour, and the engine itself feels to be underpowered. We have taken it to the dealership for repair at least five times over the past five years and in each case they have attempted to do a repa

The issue has intensified from the initial symptoms, (which were as I described, but resolved by turning the car off, waiting 30 seconds to a minute and then turning the car on again) to how it is now: in addition to the check engine light, every other light and warning system has gone off when driving on the highway and the engine was unable to go faster than 40 miles an hour, and it does not resolve by restarting the car. The dealership and Honda America’s main phone line have as of yet been unable to give me a clear answer as to why this is happening or whether it can be fixed. A sudden drop in speed and power on the highway as we have experienced many times over the last five years is inherently extremely dangerous.Read more

While crossing the road—right at the center—my Evolution brand low-speed vehicle, with less than eighty miles on the odometer and full battery charge, completely shut off. No warning lights, no alerts, no gradual slowdown. Screen went pitch black. The whole thing died. Before I could move or react, it restarted by itself. And since my foot was still on the accelerator, it shot forward—slamme

Sudden blackout, sudden restart, sudden surge. Once showed an R zero one two battery error. This isn't safe. It's unpredictable.Read more

While driving, the engine light turned on and the battery light. Truck started shaking and shut off. Lost complete power. Was right next to my driveway thankfully. Very unsafe situation as I have my wife, [XXX] and [XXX]. Had it towed via my insurance progressive. Mechanic confirmed it was the alternator which is a common problem for the etorque alternator ram rebel 2020. Order is back ordered by

Component/System Failure: The engine and lubrication system appear to be malfunctioning. The vehicle has repeatedly experienced sudden engine shutdown while stopped at traffic lights and during low-speed operation. The dealership has identified oil leakage involving the oil pan and oil filter housing and has indicated there may be an internal oil leak within the engine. The vehicle is available fo
... r inspection upon request. Safety Risk: When the engine shuts off unexpectedly, the vehicle loses propulsion in active traffic. This creates a risk of rear-end collision and prevents immediate maneuvering out of traffic flow. The loss of engine power while stopped or moving at low speeds presents a serious safety hazard to myself and surrounding drivers. I am concerned that the suspected internal oil issue may lead to catastrophic engine failure while driving. Dealer Confirmation / Reproduction: The issue has been reported to the dealership multiple times beginning in January 2025. The vehicle has undergone multiple inspections and repair attempts, including partial fuel injector replacement, battery replacement, and an oil consumption test. The dealership has acknowledged oil leakage and has stated that replacing the oil pan gasket and oil filter housing may not resolve the suspected internal oil leak. The defect has not been permanently corrected. Inspection by Manufacturer or Others: The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by the dealership. The matter has been escalated to Kia Corporate for review. No police or insurance inspections have occurred, as no collision has yet resulted from the stalling events. Warning Lamps / Symptoms: During each stall event, the check engine light illuminates along with multiple dashboard warning lights. The stalling first began in January 2025. Oil-related concerns and possible oil loss were reported during prior service visits. The condition continues despite repair attempts.Read more

Just after Thanksgiving, my vehicle displayed a “Service Emergency Calling” message. I brought it to the dealership and they documented the concern, referencing GM bulletin PIP6077B, but no repairs were performed. On December 30th, while parking, I shifted into reverse and the vehicle would not reverse and instead moved forward. A “Service Transmission” warning appeared and the vehicle was
... towed. The dealer cleared the codes and released the vehicle without performing any diagnostics. About two weeks later, when starting the vehicle after work, several warnings appeared, including “Service Safety Restraint System,” “Forward Collision System Unavailable,” and a rear-seat alert despite no passengers. While driving, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and blind zone steering assist were not functioning. The next morning, the vehicle suffered a complete electrical failure. It would not start, the screens stayed off, and the doors would not lock or unlock. The vehicle was towed again. The dealer replaced the battery, claimed it had simply died, and attempted to return the vehicle to me. I refused because none of the prior warnings were diagnosed, and I was told the codes “erase when the battery is changed.” After I demanded full electrical and transmission diagnostics, including a parasitic draw test, the dealership informed me the vehicle was unsafe to drive. They stated the OnStar/telematics module was draining the battery and the replacement part was backordered with no estimated arrival date. I was told multiple customers are waiting for the same part, which means this is NOT an isolated event and needs way more attention than it's being given. This defect results in loss of essential safety systems and complete vehicle shutdown, creating a significant safety risk.Read more

2.0L EcoBoost engine and coolant intrusion. Coolant leaked into two of the cylinder heads, resulting in engine failure and the need for a full engine replacement.Initially, the vehicle would not start. A tow company technician was able to get the vehicle started, after which I was advised to drive directly to my mechanic. I was informed that the exhaust smelled like diesel fuel and that if the eng

ICCU failed while driving on freeway. Heard loud pop which dealership determined to be a blown fuse as a result of the ICCU failing. Car decelerated to 30-40 mph and stayed in this limp mode. Light on dash indicated an electrical system issue. Vehicle was towed to dealership and repair was made under warranty.

A recurring malfunction occurs with the infotainment/radio and rear backup camera display. The rear backup camera view remains stuck ON while driving forward in DRIVE at speeds over 20 mph, including highway speeds. The system also cycles between screens (including switching to the camera view), and the infotainment freezes and becomes unresponsive (loss of screen/control). Audio playback and hand
... s-free calls become staticky/distorted. These events create a serious driver distraction and safety risk while driving. This has occurred multiple times, including during long-distance driving, and has been significant enough that I have had to pull over to the side of the road multiple times. In multiple incidents, the system did not recover until I pulled a fuse to reset/shut down the system so I could continue driving safely. The unit remains powered ON after the vehicle is turned OFF and exited. There is also a history of battery drain/no-start events requiring jump starts. No warning lights or warning messages are displayed before or during the failure; the system becomes unresponsive and behaves unpredictably. The problem is intermittent and has occurred multiple times over the life of the vehicle, including after a head unit replacement. Dealers have documented the concern on repair orders; during the most recent visit the dealer noted no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored.Read more

The Ioniq 5 has a known issue with a part called the ICCU. When the part fails, which it seems to inevitably do despite multiple recall repair visits and software upgrades, the car ceases to be driveable. In advance of this moment when your multi ton vehicle turns into a brick you get a short warning saying pull over, but that is not always possible. The car starts loudly beeping and reduces its m
... ax speed to 12 mph, which is not great on the freeway. The ICCU is a huge safety problem, a known issue that Hyundai is well aware of, and the part needs to be redesigned and the NTSB needs to force Hyundai to extend greater warranty protections for this event. This just happened to me, the dealership says they have 8 other ioniq 5's in with the same issue and I am number 9 on an ioniq 5 iccu loaner car waiting list while the part is back ordered for at least one month. My car stopped at a stop light and fully blocked an intersection when it bricked as I came off the freeway, was super scary to sort out in the middle of the road and I was very happy that my twin toddlers were not in the back seat, i was not so happy I had to pay to have the vehicle towed and arrange a comedicly complicated way to pickup my kids due to this known issue parts failure.Read more
