At about 800 miles i noticed ticking from the engine and random and intermittent jerking. Some of which were very severe that felt like someone rear ended me. I took into the dealer with my complaints. They kept my vehicle for 2.5 days and didnt give me a loaner. The my were unable to reproduce the jerking and said the ticking was normal. They showed me the ticking and said its normal and will go
... away after it warms up. They did a vehicle update and said it will help. They said theres nothing else they will do. I knew something was still wrong but felt like they wouldnt do anything and I couldn't give up my vehicle for days at a time. I continued to drive it and was planning on taking it to a other dealer for a check up. But at about 3500 miles. One day the truck began squealing and grinding. I attempted to drive the truck home and the truck just died on the freeway. Luckily I knew something was wrong so I stayed in the slow lane so it was easy for me to get off. Thats the first time the check engine light came on but it was too late. I had it towed to the dealer and they checked and it was catastrophic engine failure.Read more

My 2025 Acura MDX (under 10,000 miles) has failed to restart after the automatic idle stop engaged at stoplights and drive-thru lines at least 7 separate times. When I release the brake, the engine often remains off and the vehicle will not move, leaving me stopped in traffic. I have not yet required a jump start, but on several occasions the vehicle came very close to not restarting at all. This
... most recently occurred at a sandwich shop drive-thru. These incidents occurred in normal drive mode and in normal weather conditions. No abnormal driving conditions were present when the failures happened. Other owners online report the same problem, with some needing to carry jumper cables. I believe this is a serious safety risk because the vehicle can stall unexpectedly in intersections and traffic when the auto stop-start system activates. I am now concerned about relying on this vehicle in traffic because I cannot trust it to restart when stopped.Read more

I am writing to formally document a series of catastrophic mechanical failures involving my vehicle, as well as serious inaccuracies currently reflected on the Carfax report. At approximately 15,000 miles, my vehicle experienced a catastrophic engine failure that required a full engine replacement. Less than 900 miles after the engine replacement, the vehicle then suffered a catastrophic transmis
... sion failure, which also required replacement. In connection with the transmission failure, there was also a fuel module issue that left me stranded. These failures were not minor or routine service events. One breakdown occurred on a major roadway and required the road to be shut down due to the vehicle being disabled. Another breakdown occurred on the Florida Turnpike as a result of complete engine failure, leaving me stranded in a highly dangerous situation. Despite the severity of these events, the Carfax report does not accurately reflect what occurred. The Carfax report does not state that the engine was replaced, and the transmission failure is not identified as a transmission replacement at all. Instead, it is reported as routine or normal service, without any indication that a catastrophic transmission failure or replacement occurred. This misrepresentation significantly understates the true condition and mechanical history of the vehicle. Due to the repeated catastrophic failures, the circumstances under which they occurred, and the risk posed to my safety and the safety of my family, I am genuinely afraid to drive this vehicle. I want to ensure that all of this information is properly documented and that the vehicle’s records accurately reflect its true history and condition.Read more

After driving the vehicle for a short period, I became uncomfortable continuing to operate it with brake-related warning lights still active and returned it to the dealer. During diagnosis, the brakes locked and the parking brake would not disengage, rendering the vehicle undrivable. No collision or injury occurred. However, the vehicle was released to me with active brake system warnings and later found to have serious brake defects. Due to the safety-critical nature of the braking system and the repeated electrical and brake-related service history, I am reporting this for documentation and review.Read more

I have taken my vehicle to the dealership, Preston, Hood Chevrolet, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The problem I’m having is the avoidance system! Not getting warning nor will the vehicle stop an emergency situation where I’m going forward in a vehicle stops quickly in front of me nor will it work if a person is walking behind my vehicle or if there’s a vehicle behind my vehicle when I’m back
... ing out of my driveway. They keep telling me everything checks out on the computer and they keep saying it’s normal and it’s only meant to possibly slow down the vehicle before a crash. They do not give me any definitive answer and they also escalated to GM response is basically the same thing. You can read all over the Internet that a lot of people have this problems. I have friends that own the same truck and it works perfectly. My truck will not. It’s very frustrating because one of the reasons why I bought a new vehicle like this was for those safety reasons. Also, when I am pulling out of a parking spot and turning the wheel, the truck accelerates by itself and goes into cruise control. Only doing a few miles per hour. And this might be because of the location of the activation of the cruise control switch. It is a lever on the steering wheel and it’s easily to engage. And I don’t understand why it would engage at such a slow speed. I’ve had several situations where a vehicle has stopped suddenly in front of me and my truck will not respond at all with a late morning shaking of the seats no alarm and no breaking luckily I was able to stop in time with my own reaction. The technicians will not work on this because the computer says it’s OK. It seems like they have technicians but not mechanics. My opinion. I spent a lot of money for this truck and I’m [XXX] although my reactions are still pretty good. I’m looking at a vehicle that will assist if I do not react. This vehicle doesn’t react and I paid for this and I am afraid when I need the avoidance system, it won’t work. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMRead more

My 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 experienced a premature transmission failure consistent with GM’s known 8-speed transmission defect. The vehicle has been inspected by my out-of-pocket expense extended warranty company Endurance Warranty Services sub-contracted repair claims adjuster. The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) has intermittent failures. During the last failure, my wife was on a busy freeway (Interstate 5 near Hwy 120 northbound) in heavy but fast moving traffic. She was driving in the #2 lane (of 4 lanes) when she experienced sudden loss of propulsion. The vehicle slowed to 5 MPH in traffic that was moving 70 to 80 MPH. She had to traverse through the #3 a
... nd #4 lanes to the narrow emergency shoulder. Cars were honking and flipping her off. In the emergency lane, the vehicle completely died after 30 to 60 seconds. She was at risk of being rear ended during the dangerous 5 MPH lane changes and in the time parked in the emergency lane. She could not start the car for 15 minutes, after which the system came back to life. She was then able to start it and continue home. The first time the ICCU failed was in a parking lot. This is a known defect with Hyundai which they have attempted to rectify with Recall Campaign 272. However, they refuse to replace the ICCU. After the first event, they replaced the battery after 22 months/32429 miles. Now they want to replace the battery again after another 20 months/34k miles. What they don't get, is that the batteries have not prematurely failed. Instead the ICCU has intermittently and temporarily drawn the batteries down causing the vehicle to lose propulsion and die. They refuse to replace the ICCU because an error code they were looking for was not in the memory. They have performed three software updates on three separate dealer visits, but the issue has not been resolved. During the last visit they kept my vehicle for six weeks while I appealed through Hyundai Consumer Affairs and the Service manager appealed through his Dealer rep. But the factory engineers held firm and would not approve the ICCU warranty replacement, and instead wanted me to pay for 12V battery replacement. We don't know if there were any warning lights since my wife was busy navigating the danger.Read more

Check engine turned on and at the same time the vehicle turned into safety mode abruptly, it slowed down to 10 miles an hour while on the high way and receiving a message stating that the "engine power reduced", the issue was presented to the dealership and they believe to be fixed with a sensor issue, the light came back on a few days after the initial repair and once again the engine lost power
... while driving the vehicle, the vehicle was then taken back to the dealership for repair once again, both times I mentioned the service bulletin, which they did not consider in their repair, stating that the issue was specific for a code (which all codes present are in the service bulletin) the 2nd repair was done on a actuator, which they stated should fix the issue, and did not, a 3rd time the vehicle lost power while hauling a trailer, this time I brought up the concern of them not reviewing the service bulletin, this time they confirmed that the service bulletin was the issue causing the check engine light (GM service bulletin no: 21-NA-149) now they are looking to slowly start repairing the issue and wait for the check engine light to turn on again to then go back and forth and review step by step the instructions in the bulletin.Read more
