We were driving on the interstate and suddenly the truck increased RPMs rapidly with no acceleration when pressing the gas. The vehicle began to decelerate quickly on its own. We turned on our flashers to warn drivers around us. The truck suddenly gained back some acceleration, enough for us to move to the right, and lost full power again, and we coasted to the shoulder. If the vehicle had not gai
... ned back some acceleration after the initial deceleration, we may have been rear-ended. We had it towed to the nearest Ford Dealership. They confirmed the transmission had a total failure. They quoted around 4500 for a rebuild, or 9500 for a new transmission. The truck has only about 53,000 miles on it. I wanted to report this concern because I’m now aware there are many reported issues with this 10-speed transmission, and the sudden complete loss of power as we were driving was extremely dangerous for us and the people around us. We did sometimes experience slightly rough shifting when the truck was “cold” upon starting, however we noticed this since we bought the truck new, and we thought this was normal for it. The failure itself was sudden and unexpected.Read more

On [XXX], I was driving on the highway with my family in the vehicle and the check engine light came on, then it started running roughly. I headed off the highway on an exit ramp and the engine died about halfway down the ramp. It wouldn't restart after that. This happened about an hour away from my house in Painesville, OH. NOTE-We are visiting DE, but reside in Virginia. I recently experienced problems with my "Wheel Speed Sensor System" on my 2014 Chevy Silverado, LT, 5.3L V8 4WD, Crew Cab. My local garage in DE (our Condo is in DE- our home-residence is Virginia) looked at the vehicle and said I was having a problem with the wheel speed sensors partially locking up my brakes and causing a drag when driving. The
... garage in Newark, DE- Littles Garage told me that their system said there was a recall on my vehicle and that I'd need to have service done at a Chevrolet Dealership at no cost. I went to 2 Dealerships who stated my Truck's VIN did not show up in their system as having any active recalls. Reading the Recall notice, I see that GM contacted the Dealerships directly (I guess not to make the recall public) who have/had sold this vehicle with instructions to contact owners directly; however, I purchased the Vehicle in SC from a Ford Dealership in 2017. Since RECALL # N192261050 is stated as a safety problem that could cause my truck to be a dangerous safety hazard that could cause serious damage and even death to occupants of the vehicle. I understand from my garage that the issue is intermittent once discovered, even as I have not experienced anything for about a week, and it can re-appear at any time. You can understand that I need the NHTSA to help me resolve this issue and if I am deserving of a Recall Fix, to help me with Dealerships in DE. NuCar Chevrolet of New Castle, DE has been recommended to me by Littles Garage as one of the best Chevy Dealerships. NOTE I am visiting DE and need to get back to Virginia shortly (I'm hesitant to drive this vehicle at highway speeds). The brake system, specifically the master brake cylinder and/or associated brake system components, failed or malfunctioned. It has remained in the continuous possession of the authorized Chevrolet dealership since January 13, 2026, and has not been returned to ser
... vice. The defect involves the primary braking system, which is a critical safety component. Sudden and unexpected loss of braking ability significantly increases the risk of a collision, serious injury, or death to the driver, passengers, pedestrians, and other motorists. The vehicle was deemed unsafe to operate due to the risk of brake failure. The problem has been confirmed by the authorized Chevrolet dealership. The service department diagnosed the issue as a defective master brake cylinder and/or related brake system components. The dealer advised that the condition presents a safety risk and that the vehicle cannot be safely operated until the issue is addressed. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Chevrolet dealership acting as the manufacturer’s representative. The manufacturer has been made aware of the problem. No inspection by police or an insurance representative has occurred, as no crash took place. The vehicle remains unrepaired as of February 9 due to parts unavailability. There was no adequate warning that would have allowed the driver to anticipate the loss of braking performance. The defect results in sudden brake failure without sufficient advance warning, which is a significant safety concern. The issue was identified in January 2026, at which time the vehicle was taken to the dealership. On January 13, 2026, the vehicle was removed from service and has remained at the dealership continuously since that date. The vehicle remains out of service because the master brake cylinder is on backorder. There is no ETA, and as a result, no repairs.Read more

While driving at highway speed, the vehicle experienced a sustained loss of motive power. Despite the accelerator pedal being fully depressed, the vehicle would not accelerate beyond approximately 62 mph. Based on the symptoms and prior service history, the malfunction appears related to the fuel/propulsion system, engine, or powertrain. The vehicle is currently parked and available for inspection
... upon request. This failure placed the safety of the occupants and other motorists at risk. The vehicle was unable to safely accelerate, merge, pass, or respond to traffic conditions. Hazard lights were activated, and the vehicle was forced to remain in the slow lane of the highway for an extended period to avoid being struck by faster-moving traffic. The problem was reproducible and occurred repeatedly during the same trip. Acceleration was tested multiple times, and each attempt resulted in the same loss of power with no response to throttle input. The condition persisted for the entire drive. The vehicle has not yet been inspected following this incident. However, the vehicle previously received a manufacturer warranty repair involving replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump, and the manufacturer has issued a warranty extension for this component. The loss of motive power occurred after that repair. No warning lamps, alerts, or messages were observed prior to or during the failure. There were no warning symptoms immediately preceding the loss of motive power. This loss of propulsion at highway speed created a serious and immediate safety hazard due to the inability to maintain normal traffic speed or maneuver safely.Read more
