Failure of Battery Energy Control Module (BECM), within the high voltage battery. Vehicle is unable to charge and sets “reduced power” message. GM released special coverage bulletin for this issue (N232432680), but this vehicle is not listed due to which state it was registered. Continued failure of the BECM will lead to inoperability of the vehicle.

Weeks later, I scheduled a servicing appointment with Chevy Crews in North Charleston, due to brake screeching, the repairmen told me again that the brakes had condensation on them, so he dusted them off and the screeching wou

At 141,620 miles, Chevrolet of Wesley Chapel started an oil consumption test and stated in writing that oil consumption can lead to repeat failed converters and false oxygen sensor readings. Despite substantial repairs, the problem pattern continued. I am reporting this as a possible safety-related defect affecting engine operation, emissions-system failure, and drivability, and I am asking NHTSA to review whether this indicates a broader safety-related defect.Read more

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Incident date: Feb 21, 2026
The failure is believed to have originated in the fuel delivery system, specifically the check valve in the low-pressure fuel feed jumper line at the engine. This valve failed to seat properly, allowing high-pressure pulses to travel back into the low-pressure side of the system. This malfunction caused the S-shaped portion of the fuel feed line near the tank to vibrate excessively against its mou
... nting clip. This constant friction wore through the line, resulting in an active fuel leak. All damaged components remain on the vehicle and are available for inspection upon request. The safety of the driver, passengers, and the public is at immediate risk due to a severe fire hazard. Because the leak is located near the fuel tank and undercarriage, gasoline is being released where it could be ignited by road sparks, static electricity, or exhaust heat. A fuel leak of this nature threatens a catastrophic fire that could result in vehicle loss or personal injury. The problem has been confirmed via a physical inspection that matches the symptoms documented in a GM Service Bulletin (Recall - High Pressure Fuel Pump Leakage). While the vehicle has not yet been subjected to a formal tear-down by a dealer due to the danger of driving it with a leak, the visual evidence at the exact location specified in manufacturer documentation confirms the failure. To date, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Prior to the leak, the primary symptoms were an audible rattling and ticking noise from the engine bay and underside, characteristic of the pressure pulses described in the TSB. There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages, as the mechanical wear on the exterior of the fuel line occurred outside the scope of the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic sensors.Read more

On 03/13/26, I was taking a family trip when all of a sudden my 2021 chevy silverado (with 6.2L v8) began to lose power and shake uncontrollably causing me to make an emergency roadside stop. Fortunately, traffic was light and I was able to avoid a collision. I immediately heard a loud knocking sound coming from my engine and several check engine safety lights were displayed. On 3/16, I brought my

The dealership checked for recalls on my truck but were surprised that my vin did not pull up a recall even though there was a recent major engine recall (# N252494000) issued for my exact model truck with the same issues my truck displayed. It should be noted that my vehicle had less than 24,000 miles on it and I have kept up with regular oil change and maintenance service and that before this issue I have had zero issues with this vehicle. To make matters worse my powertrain warranty expired 2 months prior to this incident so I am having to pay out of pocket over $12k for a new engine. On 03/19/26, I contacted Chevy but was told there was nothing they could do for me and stated that NHTSA would have to get my vehicle added to the recall. I am requesting that my vehicle and others like it get added to this massive engine recall so I can get reimbursed for my new engine and also to protect other families from possibly being involved in a major unavoidable crash. Once on the way home from the dealer, but I could not return as they were closing when I picked up my new 2026 Silverado 2500HD pick up. ... ted to get to the speed limit, while doing so, the truck hesitated for a couple of seconds then banged into gear. The second time for that same scenario was several days after resulting in the same hesitation and then bang into gear. No warning lights were reveled. I called the local Chevy dealership, as instructed by the dealership I purchased it from was 107 miles away, they gave me an appointment to investigate the problem. Upon arriving, I needed to back up to align my vehicle with the entrance to the service area and my truck would not go into reverse. I tried 2 times shifting from park to reverse and nothing, I put it back into park while still running and went into the service area explaining my new issue, the service writer got a mechanic and he tried shifting into park with no luck. He then shut off the engine, waited about 30 seconds, restarted the engine and shifted into reverse and it worked. They checked for codes and none were present, so they test drove it for about 20 minutes, did not experience either symptom and email GM service assistance and were told to have me come back and they would check the parameters and make sure the software was updated as well as the transmission fluid level and condition. I returned for them to accomplish those tasks and drove home, 2 miles, and had no issues till the trip I was going on today, I warmed up the vehicle as it was only 37 degrees today and when I put it in reverse, it did not engage, so I shifted into drive, it engaged then I put it in reverse and it did finally engage. Now I'm going to renotify the dealershipRead more

The vehicle is currently exhibiting a loud, rhythmic metallic ticking/tapping noise from the top of the engine. This is a known precursor to a sudden, catastrophic loss of motive power as documented in GM Service Bulletins PIP5847A and PIP6101. The cause is attributed to manufacturing debris within the hydraulic valve lash adjusters, which prevents proper lubrication and causes valvetrain desynchr
... onization. This defect leads to severe engine misfires (DTC P0300), "Reduced Engine Power" mode, and potential engine seizure. 1. Component/System: The 2.7L L3B Engine Valvetrain / Hydraulic Lash Adjusters. The vehicle is available for inspection. 2. Safety Risk: The audible ticking indicates imminent mechanical failure. This defect causes sudden and unexpected loss of motive power at highway speeds. Driving in this condition puts me at extreme risk of being stranded in active traffic or losing power while merging/passing, creating an immediate risk of high-speed rear-end collisions. GM is aware of this debris-related defect via TSBs but has not issued a safety recall to prevent the resulting power loss. 3. Dealer Confirmation: Yes, confirmed by Chevrolet dealer on 3/18/26. The dealer knows about this particular issue, and decided not to act. 4. Inspection History: Inspected by authorized Chevrolet service technician. 5. Warning Symptoms: Loud metallic ticking/clacking that increases with engine RPM. This is a known precursor to a sudden, catastrophic loss of motive power as documented in GM Service Bulletins PIP5847A and PIP6101.Read more

Description: On June 23, 2025, I was involved in a traffic collision in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to the police report, another driver failed to yield while exiting a private driveway and struck the front of my vehicle while I was stopped in the center turn lane preparing to turn left. As the vehicle entered my lane, I pressed the horn continuously in an attempt to alert the driver. My right
... hand was positioned on the horn pad in the center of the steering wheel. At the moment of impact, the driver airbag deployed while my hand remained on the horn pad. I immediately experienced severe pain in my right wrist. Medical evaluation confirmed fractures of the distal radius and ulna requiring surgical fixation with plates and screws. My purpose in submitting this report is to document a potential safety concern involving the interaction between horn activation and airbag deployment. Activating the horn during an imminent collision may be a foreseeable defensive maneuver, which could place the driver’s hand directly over the airbag module at the moment of deployment. I respectfully submit this information for safety review in case similar incidents have been reported.Read more
