While driving my 2022 GMC Yukon Denali at interstate highway speed, the engine suddenly failed without any prior warning. At the time of the incident, the vehicle had approximately 65,000 miles. There were no warning lights illuminated before or during the failure. The engine immediately began running rough, produced abnormal knocking/ticking noise, and then completely lost power. This created a
... dangerous situation, as I was traveling at highway speed and suddenly could not maintain speed with surrounding traffic. I had to quickly maneuver out of traffic and safely reach the shoulder to avoid a potential accident. Due to the complete loss of engine power, the vehicle was inoperable and had to be towed from the scene. The vehicle has been properly maintained and has not had any prior mechanical issues. I contacted a dealership, but as of now, the vehicle has not yet been inspected or diagnosed. Based on the symptoms, the failure appears consistent with a lifter-related engine issue reported in similar vehicles. The sudden and complete loss of power without warning presents a serious safety concern.Read more

The contact stated that while the temperature gauge was midway, the vehicle stalled. The battery warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that whenever the temperature gauge was midway, the vehicle would stall. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic who replaced a fractured spark plug and the timing chain. The vehicle was repaired; however, two months after the last repair, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Component/System: Fuel System – Fuel Filler / Left-Side Radiator and Cooling Fan Assembly (subject to NHTSA Recall 25V536). What happened: On June 15, 2024, I was refueling my 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 at a BP gas station in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. As I removed the fuel pump nozzle from the vehicle, a violent explosion occurred. I was immediately engulfed in a fireball. My clothing caught fi
... re and was burning me. I jumped clear of the flames and extinguished the fire on my clothing. I saw that the vehicle remained fully engulfed in flames with the pump nozzle still lodged in the filler. I ran to the adjacent pump island where a station attendant was attempting but was unable to open a locked fire extinguisher cabinet. I broke the glass with both of my bare hands to remove the fire extinguisher. I sustained a severe laceration to my forehead that was approximately 3 inches long and required plastic surgery of over 50 stitches to close. I then ran to the car that was burning with approximately 10 foot flames and I used the fire extinguisher to put out the fire on the vehicle and pump. I then pulled the pump handle from the fuel filler opening and called the police. The police and fire department arrived and confirmed the fire was extinguished. The flames singed the hair on my head and legs. Component availability: Documentation including photographs, police report, and medical records are available. Safety risk: A fuel-fed explosion at an active gasoline pump created an extreme and immediate risk of death or serious injury to me the station attendants and others. Dealer/manufacturer confirmation: GM subsequently issued NHTSA Recall 25V536, acknowledging the defect — fuel spillage during refueling can contact the left-side radiator cooling fan, which remains active even with the ignition off, causing ignition. This recall directly confirms the defect that caused my incident. Insurance inspection: The police and Geico inspected the vehicle. No warnings at all.Read more

Driving my truck and I suddenly got a warning on my dashboard that said, "Low Oil Pressure. Turn Engine Off." I pulled over immediately, shut off the the engine and called for a tow. Dealership called to let me know the engine was seized and would cost $22,270 to repair. Looking online I found that Chevy had released a Customer Service Program (CSP) detailing that the oil coolant lines in 2019 Sil
... verado 1500 could have a weak / defective crimp holding the oil coolant line onto the connector and could separate causing catastrophic oil loss. It is also stated in the CSP that cold weather makes the issue more likely. I have tried getting GM to cover the repair since they knew about the issue and never contacted me to make the fix. GM is maintaining that they did nothing wrong and that my VIN is not listed as one of the vehicles in need of repair. This, despite the acknowledgement of the CSP and that the CSP "is for the dealerships." Which I pointed out the correction listed was for me to have the oil lines replaced and that never happened. I also pointed out as they said this wouldn't have been listined on my VIN because it was for dealerships and yet no one: not GM, not the dealership I bought the truck from, nor the dealership that regularly serviced my truck mentioned the oil line issue to me.Read more

I am submitting a vehicle safety complaint regarding my 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid. Additionally, there is a concerning discrepancy regarding vehicle usage while in dealership custody. My records indicate a substantial increase in mileage
... during service, which is not reflected in official service documentation. This raises concerns about vehicle handling and accountability. Hyundai has declined to escalate or properly address the issue and has advised that they will continue repair attempts without further resolution. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed and recorded as part of any ongoing safety investigations.Read more

I am writing regarding the diagnosis provided for my vehicle [XXX] . As there were no coolant leaks before or after the vehicle was towed to your dealership. I am formally requesting a
... re-evaluation and more detailed evidence. Given the known history of these engines seizing, I need to ensure this diagnosis is absolutely correct and not a symptom of the internal defect. I request the following information be provided immediately: 1. Evidence of Overheating: Did the vehicle store any specific "overheating" codes in the ECU prior to the engine shutting off? 2. Oil Pan Inspection: Has the oil pan been removed to inspect for metal shavings or debris? If the connecting rod bearings failed (the recall issue), there will likely be metallic debris in the oil, regardless of the condition of the water hose. 3. Bearing Clearance Test (BCT): Was the mandated Bearing Clearance Test performed? If not, I request that this be done, or that a teardown be performed to inspect the rod bearings specifically. 4. Causal Link: Can you provide evidence that the water hose failed causing the engine to seize, rather than the engine seizing causing a pressure spike that damaged the cooling system? ... t would be hard to diagnose with no engine warning light on. Feb 24th, engine failure, warning light stayed on and towed truck to Chevy. Truck on standby, repaired Mar 10th, replacing 2 oxygen sensors per Diagnostics. Picked it up on March 11th, but engine shutdown again the same day and 4 additional failures while driving in my neighborhood, making the truck undrivable. I reached out to Chevy service supervisor, Juliana, but have received no response for the last 10 days. I urge NHTSA to investigate this defect as it poses a severe safety risk. I’d like to report a serious, ongoing safety concern with my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado (5.3 V8 53,028 mi) since Dec 2025. Over the last 4 months, I have experienced at least 20 engine failures/loss of power, with no engine light illuminated after restarting truck. These failures result in a complete loss of power, including steering and braking, posing a significant risk of a crash. Chevy said i

There is a defect in the motorized electric charge port door. When you press the button it rarely works to open the charge port door leaving me with unable to charge my vehicle. I fear this will leave me stranded and my only course of action will be to rip the door off in anger. Many others are experiencing this issue. Chevy needs to address this.
