The vehicle lost power and went into limp mode on 3/3. I had it transported to a dealership and they said there was metal containments in the motor. I got it back on 3/17 and they said all was well but it never drove right. It broke down again on 3/20 and the said the throttle body was out. Why had they not found this issue before? This seems to be a recurring issue with this model truck.

My 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe has a dangerous power-fold feature for the middle row. This problem is making headlines in another model, the Hyundai Palisade, and for good reason. Why isn't the Santa Fe included in the recall(s) that are intended to correct the problem in the Palisade? In my vehicle, the second row has two seats (captain's chairs). The power-fold feature is the only way to fold the
... middle row for additional cargo space. When my wife activated the power-fold, I was unable to prevent that seat from folding. When I activated the power-fold, and an [XXX] relative was standing outside the vehicle, he was able to reach in, but he was not able to prevent the seat from folding, and he was very concerned when he learned this. Please note that, when the middle row seats are (manually) positioned forward in the vehicle, the power-fold feature does reverse when the folding seat contacts the back of a front seat. So there must be a sensor, but its threshold is set very high. In addition, when the conflict is removed, by (manually) moving the middle row seat backward in the vehicle, the auto-fold seems to take that as an invitation to fold again. I have only observed this once, but I argue that this is an uncommanded movement, and that there is no possible justification for this software/firmware action. Thank you for reading this. Please consider the Santa Fe for a future recall campaign. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I had ANOTHER door latch lock assembly fail on my 2016 Hyundai Tucson. There was a TSB for this issue that the dealership said expired for my vehicle three months ago. They wanted a $200 diagnostic fee for a total repair of close to $1000. They confirmed it was another door latch lock assembly, although I’m not sure how because the door would not open from the inside OR the outside. When the
... rear passenger side assembly failed a week ago, my kids were stuck in the back of the vehicle. This is a potentially dangerous issue that Hyundai seems to be aware of. If the front driver’s side goes at the wrong time, and I am not able to open my door, it could have disastrous consequences. I could become trapped in my car in the event of an accident, fire, etc. Hyundai needs to recall all door latch assemblies and just replace them all free of charge. It’s ridiculous that it’s a guessing game of when they might stop functioning properly and potentially trap you inside the vehicle.Read more

In August 2025, I had taken the van for a drive to charge things up, got home, put it in park and parked it in my driveway, which has a mild slope. ~ 30 seconds - 1 minute after me leaving the vehicle, it rolled backward out of the driveway, across a busy street and 1/4 into my neighbors yard. I was mortified, there is usually a lot of people walking their dogs, kids etc...and cars going by. The v
... ehicle was stopped by the curb vs the 2nd back tire (Thie first one cleared the curb and was in my neighbors lawn. It ALMOST hit a BIG tree. I pulled it back into the driveway & checked it again, worried I may have somehow not put it in park, but it did it over and over again. Shortly after I put it in park and turned it off it "released" and started rolling spontaneously. I could have run over my neighbors; people, babies...pets, me... I piled logs and big rocks behind all 4 tires (put it park with the parking brake on of course,) & called the Mercedes dealer & made an appointment. I did not drive it again until it was "repaired," except for the fact that nothing showed up on the scanned as wrong. They kept if for 3 weeks but "it never did it again," & they "never found anything." They charged up the battery and said maybe it was because the battery got too low and that the chassis battery charges the transmission battery and maybe the transmission battery was low. They mentioned that they had had one other person come with the same problem. The local Winnebago dealership mentioned that they had had someone come in with the same complaint. With the vehicle unchanged after this potentially catastrophic event, how can I trust it? What happens if I am in it and it is parked on a slope and it does it again? What could happen if the transmission fails on the road? It was VERY SCARY. For a couple months I had a mini panic attack every time a young family walked by...what could have happened if they happened to be walking by when that happened. The vehicle has experienced repeated failures of the integrated telematics system, including loss of GPS location accuracy, loss of data connectivity, navigation malfunction, and intermittent failure of voice command and steering wheel controls. On one occasion, the vehicle experienced a complete display blackout while driving, during which both the infotainment screen and digital instrument clus
... ter went entirely black. The condition has occurred repeatedly and persisted despite multiple repair attempts. The vehicle has been out of service for approximately 82 cumulative days for diagnosis and repair of these issues. An authorized Chevrolet dealership ultimately diagnosed a failure of the telematics control module, which was replaced under warranty. Following this repair, the same data connectivity failure recurred and was documented with photo and video evidence. The vehicle was returned to the dealership for further diagnosis. The failure is intermittent and may not be present during every inspection. The telematics system supports navigation, driver information displays, and emergency communication features, including transmission of vehicle location and system data. Loss of GPS and connectivity may impair the vehicle’s ability to provide accurate location information during an emergency. The prior display blackout resulted in loss of driver information while the vehicle was in motion. The condition has been reported multiple times to authorized Chevrolet dealerships. Diagnostic procedures and programming were performed, and the telematics module replacement confirms a system-level failure. Recurrence after component replacement indicates the condition has not been permanently resolved. Prior symptoms included loss of GPS signal, incorrect location, loss of connectivity, navigation failure, and intermittent driver assistance alerts.Read more

The service 4WD light is on in this vehicle. Upon taking it to my personal mechanic to fix the issue, it was determined that the code was associated with a recall. This recall did not include my VIN number but is a safety recall on other vehicles. When calling Jeep/Chrysler to determine my next steps, i was advised to bring the vehicle to a dealer as they could not accept anything from my personal
... mechanic. My vehicle was dropped off at a dealer who then reached out and wanted to charge me $350 just plug the vehicle in for the code. Upon calling again, I was advised that I would have to incur the entire cost to have the issue fixed and if it was determined that my vehicle would be included in the recall at a later date i could submit receipts and be reimbursed. The code is PTU failure related and could cause possible loss of power to the wheels. This is a major safety concern as well as a huge expense to fix. The vehicle is available at any time for inspection. Please advise what my next steps and if I can be offered goodwill assistance as I do not want to incur a $2000 - $4000 expense for a known recall based on identical failure.Read more

My Mercedes Benz GLE450e Hybrid SUV has had a persistent but sporadic safety issue that suddenly causes the vehicle to go into "turtle mode" with a "performance extremely limited" warning when trying to accelerate quickly or sometimes when breaking quickly. In turtle mode, the car quickly loses acceleration, drops in speed and is then unable to accelerate properly. The sudden drop in speed and in
... ability to accelerate causes a major safety issue while driving - particularly on roads with other vehicles also travelling at high speeds. Last Friday, I was driving with my family on Interstate 95 when a tractor trailer truck did not see me beside it and started to switch into my lane. I tried to quickly accelerate to get out of the way before it hit us but my car went into "turtle mode" and the speed suddenly dropped by 15 or 20mph and would no longer drive correctly. Luckily, I was in the right lane and able to swerve onto the shoulder of the highway and narrowly avoid the large truck. Otherwise, if I had been in a middle lane, I would have either been hit by the truck or likely hit another car next to me. This issue has been sporadically occurring with my car for about 5 months now. I have had it into the Mercedes dealer three times and, each time, they say they think they fixed the issue. But, each time the same issue has returned. They said that Mercedes USA knows it is a big issue with their new hybrid SUVs but Mercedes doesn't yet know how to fix the problem and has been unwilling to publicly acknowledge the problem or offer it's customers any assistance. Doing a quick Google search online for "Mercedes hybrid performance extremely limited" also quickly brings up different online forums where other owners of this same car have had the exact same issue that Mercedes has been unable to fix or resolve. Driving a car that can suddenly lose the ability to accelerate is a major safety hazard and I would sincerely appreciate if the NHTSA would help to address itRead more

Year: 2022 Make: Chevrolet Model: Silverado 1500 Engine: 2.7L TurboMax (L3B) VIN: [XXX] Mileage at Failure: 119,139 Description of Problem: 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2.7L L3B TurboMax engine is completely inoperable due to Cylinder 4 exhaust roller follower failure causing exhaust camshaft failure and bent exhaust valves. Vehicle shakes severely, will not accelerate, check engine light on,
... and has gone into limp mode. Diagnostic codes P0304 (Cylinder 4 misfire) and P2101 (electronic throttle actuator fault triggered by engine shaking and limp mode) were recorded. All external components including spark plugs, coils, and injector harnesses were inspected and ruled out as causes. Failure is confirmed mechanical and internal. This failure was diagnosed and documented in writing by an authorized Chevrolet dealership on March 12, 2026 (Repair Order XXX, Service Advisor [XXX] ). The dealer's written estimate states verbatim: "Failed Cylinder 4 exhaust roller follower failure causing exhaust camshaft failure and bent exhaust valves. Cylinder head replacement required to correct this concern. Direct cause of engine noise and misfire condition." Dealer repair quote: $10,371.34. A second independent shop confirmed the same failure and cited Active Fuel Management (AFM) and Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) as known contributing design factors in this engine's oil consumption and internal wear pattern. That shop quoted between $11,876.88 and $14,897.35. This is a known pattern in the L3B engine platform. Consumer Reports has documented a 4% catastrophic failure rate in this engine. Multiple NHTSA complaints exist for this same failure across 2019-2022 model years. GM has issued technical service bulletins but has not issued a recall. I am reporting a safety concern involving BMW vehicles equipped with the B58 Technical Update (B58TU) engine, commonly found in model years 2019–2021. These vehicles utilize a variable-displacement engine oil pump containing an internal thermoplastic adjusting component responsible for regulating oil pressure. Field failures are increasingly being reported in which this internal component fractu
... res, resulting in sudden loss or instability of engine oil pressure. The failure frequently occurs during cold-start operation in low ambient temperatures. When the component fails, oil pressure regulation becomes erratic or is lost entirely. In many cases, drivers receive little or no actionable warning prior to engine damage or vehicle disablement. Reported precursor symptoms include inability to electronically measure engine oil level, abnormal oil pressure behavior, or sudden drivetrain malfunction warnings. Failures may rapidly progress to engine shutdown or severe mechanical damage caused by oil starvation. Loss of lubrication can cause the vehicle to become disabled without warning while driving or shortly after startup. This creates a safety hazard, particularly when vehicles become immobilized in active traffic or during winter conditions the cold is when they fail the most, where occupants may be exposed to freezing temperatures while awaiting assistance. Replacement of the oil pump requires extensive disassembly of the vehicle and repairs commonly exceed $6,000–$8,000 for just the pump, assuming the motor is unharmed. Owners are currently unable to determine whether their vehicles contain the original thermoplastic oil pump design or a later revised version utilizing metal internal components, as VIN-based parts information now identifies updated components in the car even when no replacement has occurred and the old components are actually in the car. Also, BMW has actively removed the plastic part number out of all dealer networks as well. They are aware.Read more

There was an airbag warning light on on the dash of the vehicle when I purchased it my assumption that it was just an error or a warning since I knew that the vehicle had been in a minor incident but I would’ve never thought that all of the airbags would’ve been cut out and hidden in the vehicle. Through my own investigation, I also located what appears to be the seller’s Facebook Marketplace account, where he has dozens of vehicles listed under a personal profile. This suggests he may be operating as an unlicensed vehicle dealer (curbstoning) and potentially selling multiple vehicles with undisclosed defects. I have attempted to resolve this matter directly by sending a formal demand letter and allowing time for response, but the seller has failed to respond or offer any resolution and has ceased communication. I have documentation and evidence including photos, videos, messages, and screenshots of vehicle listings that support these claims. I purchased a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe on March 8, 2026, in [XXX] . After the sale, I discovered that the vehicle has serious undisclosed safety defects, including evidence that the airbag (Supplemental Restraint System) had previously deployed and was not properly repaired or restored to working condition, and were actually cut and removed from the vehicle and glued and covered up. This defect was no

This put my safety and others at risk because if I had not noticed that the airbag system was not working and was removed and if I had been in a wreck who knows the injuries that me or somebody else could have sustained. The Full Self Driving (Supervised) system (FSD(S)) failed by running a red light. Video is available for inspection upon request. My safety was not at risk - this time - because the system waited until there was no cross traffic to resume motion, even though the light was still red. I have not tried to reproduce the problem for a dealer since it happens infrequently. (This is the third time in per

There was no indication from the car that it perceived any failure. It stopped only when I applied the brake. Prior symptoms include two previous incidents of stopping for a red traffic light, waiting until there was no cross traffic, then resuming motion while the traffic light was red. This is the first time I thought to save dash cam video.Read more
