Car was parked (in covered area) when back window shattered sometime after 12pm. Car had not been driven in two days and outdoor temperature started at 62 that morning so there were not extreme temperature changes as at the time the window shattered, it was approximately 75 degrees. No apparent reason for breakage as we live in a secluded area and were nearby outside enjoying the day.

Vehicle will detect objects in the blind spot when there are none there. I will look back and see that nothing is in the blind spot. Turn my turn signal on to indicate a lane change. I get half-way through the lane change and the light on the mirror starts to flash indicating that something is in my blind spot. I react and return to my original lane. I look back again and ther is nothing there. Th
... is is the classic false positive. It is dangerous because I am learning that the system is unreliable and an unreliable system eventually gets ignored. This is the classic "Boy Who Cried Wolf." GM is aware of the problem but it is not getting the urgent attention that it needs. This is a bad situation. I would prefer it the system were turned OFF. This happens quite regularly in the drivers side blind spot.Read more

Check engine light with codes p0700 and p2796 has been happening for months with multiple failed repair attempts. Vehicle was returned to me by the dealer supposedly fixed. I drove it 15 minutes to the high school for an art fair my daughter was in. They (my family) rode with me home. Check engine light was on again. On the way home, the transmission was acting strange, not shifting properly.
... About half way home, it got stuck in a gear at 3500 or so rpms and would not shift. I tried the manual shifter, and it didn’t work. Stuck in gear. Concern was that we were approaching a hill when it did this, and I could not get the vehicle to shift to deliver the appropriate level of power I needed to ascend the hill. It thankfully did eventually shift, but it was scary for a few seconds, especially since I had my wife and all three of my kids in the vehicle. I dropped the vehicle off the next morning. It got stuck in gear at 3500 RPMS again on the way to the dealership. Two dealerships have made multiple failed attempts to fix the transmission issues. Several attempts to contact GM have gone without a response. No one in my family feels safe in the vehicle after what happened.Read more

The battery energy control module GM Part # 84442220 located inside the HV battery assembly caught fire. The harness that was most affected was the battery cell voltage sense wires. The way the battery voltage sense circuit is manufactured seems dangerous as there is no fusible link between the battery cell and the module. If a short circuit occurs the full current of the cell will be induced on

When taking off it will sometime have hard shifts, shuddering, and acceleration hesitation. While driving, it will do static jolts. Dealer couldn’t pin point problem and advised for a new transmission or we could drive it until it dies. Dealer didn’t recommend to change transmission oil in fear of creating more damage.

I am filing this complaint to report a critical manufacturing safety defect regarding the rear differential in my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. During a recent dealership inspection at approximately 40,400 miles, an authorized GM service center (Jack Hanania Chevrolet) discovered that the vehicle's rear differential was completely "bone dry" of gear oil . Because there is no history of catastroph
... ic fluid leaks, seal blowouts, or external damage, this strongly indicates that the rear differential was either never filled or improperly filled with lubricant at the factory during vehicle assembly. This issue originally presented as a persistent drivetrain vibration, shudder, and "skipping" sensation starting as early as 12,000 miles . I brought the vehicle to the dealership for this exact vibration at approximately 21,000 miles. The dealership misdiagnosed the issue as "low transmission fluid" (despite the transmission being a sealed system) and failed to inspect the rear differential . The symptoms persisted until the vehicle was immobilized in November 2025, which is when the bone-dry rear differential was finally discovered . A vehicle operating with an empty rear differential poses an extreme and immediate safety hazard. The lack of lubrication causes severe internal heat and friction, inevitably leading to a sudden, catastrophic mechanical seizure of the rear axle . If the rear wheels lock up while driving at highway speeds, it will cause an immediate loss of vehicle control, resulting in a high-speed collision. I urge NHTSA to investigate GM's factory fluid-fill procedures and quality control for 2019 Silverado differentials to prevent a fatal lock-up event for other drivers on the road.Read more

I was on a road trip and halfway through my check engine light came on and notified me that engine power was reduced while on a 70mph highway. My car the slowed itself down to not exceed 45 then 25mph. I was in a remote area and very far away from a Chevy dealership. I was forced to drive for a long distance to make it to a Chevy dealership that was willing to work with me. Come to find out my fue
... l pump failed and the car is only 2 years old with only 58,000 miles. This same issue happened a few months ago and I was told by my dealership that it was just update codes required by Chevy that did not update correctly. I’ve had several other issues like this and have been told it’s because the new cars are “basically giant computers”. This car also got a new battery after one year because they stated a faulty or crappy manufacturer battery they put it went bad. My local dealership then tried to charge me for it until I reminded them of my warranty. I take my car for regular oil changes under the 6,000 miles to keep my Warranty Forever. I was terrified driving on highway roads when my car wouldn’t exceed the required speed limit causing other motorists to navigate around me all because I needed to make it to a Chevy dealership willing to work with me.Read more

In August of 2025 I purchased a Chevy MD 5500 from Paul Masse, Inc., in RI. From the time of delivery the truck had a serious shake while operating. Neither set fixed the shaking. Paul Masse, Inc., told me that this was how the

I eventually sent a claim into the RI Dealer Commissioners' office. The commission acknowledged my claim and reached out to Paul Masse, Inc. Paul Masse, Inc., agreed to have their Executive VP, Bob Masse take the vehicle for a ride with me to see what was going on. After driving the truck with Bob Masse, he agreed to bring the truck in for further review. I dropped the truck off a day later, Bob Masse called me after his mechanics looked the vehicle over and told me that they would not be able to fix the truck, but they would offer a buyback if I agreed to take a new truck. I agreed to take the new truck. I had to finance a whole new truck, paying for more insurance, sales and registration taxes. The day I took delivery of the new truck it drove exactly as the old truck drove. In addition to the truck shaking like the old truck, the check engine light was on. I immediately called the Bob Masse, Bob told me to drop the truck off and they would have a look at it. After I dropped the truck off to the dealership, they had it for five days. Bob Masse had called me to say that the check engine light had been repaired, but they were waiting on new tires to come in, as they thought the shaking was once again from "Flat Spots" on the tires. Two days later I was notified from the service department that the truck was ready for pickup. There were no new tires on the truck. Bob Masse said no new tires.Read more

2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer RS (123,000) - Coolant control Valve failure Cooling issues after 20-25 mins of driving. No Check engine lights initially just temperature gauge climbing. After 3 day of trying to drive to and from work. "Engine reduced" and P3075 code. Had it towed to dealership, in which they replaced the water pump. This DID NOT fix the issue. The next two drives (fro
... m work, and to work), I had to pull off the road several times to get the car cooled down, and run heater on full blast to drop temperature. Pulling off the road in heavy interstate traffic consistently because of the Coolant Control Valve (25207464 GM). Not to mention me, looking at the temp gauge most of the way to work, versus eyes on the road. The old thermostats would at least give you a temperature code, and not an Engine Coolant Flow Too Low error which leads to water pump being replaced erroneously. Going to plastic control valve next to a hot engine, sounds as good as plastic car jacks for this car. Oh, wait, that happened to me as well, and they recalled it after it broke on me at 2 am in the morning.Read more

2020 Chevy Blazer RS 3.6L V6: having intermittent issues with ‘check engine’ light activating and giving code P0128 - indicating “Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature)”. Symptoms include: - Temp gauge drops to reading “C” (cold), - AC blows warm/hot air, - Dash displays message, “Steering Assist is Reduced, Drive with Care”, - Radiato
... r (electric) fans run full speed. It seems that the computer is interpreting the engine coolant temperature sensor drop as a ‘stuck open’ thermostat, thus the indicated code. However, at the same time it also appears to assume a bad coolant temp sensor, and failsafes to disable the AC and set the radiator fans to max to avoid potential overheating. The problem with this is that this can occur after driving for some period that the engine is suitably warm, then I can pull off the road, disconnect the battery for a few minutes, and everything goes back to normal operation. A broken thermostat would not behave this way. * This happened in Mar 2025 - after disconnecting the battery about 5-6 times over about a 1wk period the code cleared and we were able to pass inspection. The issue did not reoccur until about the same time this year. It has been recurring periodically since. * After reading numerous postings on this issue, with numerous different vehicles that have this engine and computer, I have no faith that the dealership will provide a solution other than charging me to replace the thermostat, and ending up with the same problem a few weeks later.Read more

Upon stopping to refuel, remote key fob auto-start failed to respond. Vehicle was started manually and
... driven to the next location. On arrival, remote key fob auto-start failed again. Used interior push-to-start — vehicle started but displayed an active Check Engine Light. Connected vehicle app diagnostic scan of the Engine and Transmission System returned two WARNING flags requiring service: - Transmission System — Schedule Service Now - Engine Electrical System including Charging and Starting System — Schedule Service Now All other scanned systems (Air Induction, Fuel Management, Engine Cooling, Throttle Control, Ignition, Variable Valve Timing, 4WD, Displacement on Demand) returned OK. Both faults appeared immediately following the OTA update. Remote start failure at two consecutive locations and the Check Engine Light activation are directly correlated in timing with the update applied on 04/16/2026. No fault codes have been pulled yet — dealership service appointment pending. This is not the first instance of an issue after updates are applied, between the infotainment system blacking out, rear camera or ADAS not functioning as well as sporadic crackling sound almost like electricity arcing in the engine compartment near the steering columnRead more
