I was on my way home from work on [XXX] coming around the lakes with no median or shoulder when the engine in my 2021 Silverado started rattling, temperature gauge started going up, and losing power. Within a matter of minutes my truck shut off leaving me stranded in the middle of a four lane highway with no safe location to stop. The engine wouldn’t even turn over to try and crank back up so I
... could get the truck out of the road. After help getting my truck to a safe location I noticed oil and antifreeze leaking out of the bottom side of the engine. This truck was at Love Chevrolet for engine failure on 8/14/24 and was told it was fixed and was never told about ongoing issues with this particular 6.2 engine. I found out a few weeks ago while trying to trade my truck in to Jim Browne Chevrolet dealer that my particular truck the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado High Country with the 6.2 engine had known issue with the engine locking up and was afraid to take my truck in on trade due to his service manger going through this same experience. So I paid top dollar for a high end Chevrolet truck to be stuck with not being able to trade it and now not being able to drive it. I called the dealer and was told that my trucks vin number was not part of the recall for this issue but there are trucks that are the same year, model, and engine type that are covered under this recall. I’m now stuck making a 850 a month payment on a 58000 dollar truck that I can’t drive and can’t afford to replace an engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The engine system (6.2L V8 L87) in my 2022 GMC Yukon XL failed due to a known manufacturer defect tied to NHTSA Campaign 25V-274. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The issue involves the risk of sudden loss of propulsion, which could result in a crash or injury to myself or others. This is a serious safety concern, and I do not feel safe operating the vehicle in its current con
... dition. The defect has been acknowledged by GMC, but there is no remedy or repair currently available. I have contacted the selling dealership (Rick Hendrick Buick GMC, Duluth, GA) repeatedly for the past three weeks with no returned calls. I also contacted GMC corporate, who confirmed the recall but refused a buyback or replacement because no repair has occurred — even though a fix does not exist. They offered a loyalty voucher that does not come close to addressing the safety risk or impact. The problem has not yet been inspected by a dealer or manufacturer because there is no repair action to take at this time. No police, insurance, or third-party has reviewed the vehicle. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the issue — the problem was revealed when I looked up the VIN and learned of the active recall on the engine. I am requesting NHTSA’s support to ensure General Motors provides a replacement vehicle and compensation for this ongoing and unresolved safety hazard. I should not be placed in a position where I am expected to continue operating a vehicle with a known and dangerous defect that has no resolution in place.Read more

This RV has experienced ongoing water intrusion due to faulty manufacturer-installed plumbing fittings and hoses, which allowed leaks into the interior. Moisture has reached electrical wiring, creating a serious fire hazard and contributing to unsafe living conditions. Essential components—including the furnace, refrigerator, and water heater—have proven unreliable or unusable throughout the o
... wnership period. Mold growth has appeared due to the persistent damp environment. This has caused health issues, including respiratory difficulties, headaches, brain fog, and fatigue, with heightened risk due to a pre-existing asthma condition. Structural issues include misaligned exterior doors that fail to seal properly and loud creaking/popping noises during hitching, suggesting possible frame or chassis integrity problems. Equipment failures include a non-functional center awning, persistent sewer odor (suggesting a failed ventilation system), and malfunctioning A/C and heating units. Despite multiple inspections and documented findings from Grand Design–approved technicians, the manufacturer has offered only limited, pre-approved repairs that fail to address root causes. These problems severely impact the safety and habitability of the RV, which is used as a full-time residence. The manufacturer has declined a full inspection, replacement, or buyback. No warning lamps appeared, but symptoms began shortly after purchase and have worsened. The RV remains available for inspection. We request a formal investigation into possible safety standard violations.Read more
