The ABS module failure also causes issues with traction control. Due to lack of parts, and high cost of repair, I was concerned with the safety of this truck. All of this indicates that the car should be covered under the CUSTOMER CONFIDENCE PROGRAM 23TE03 however that program seems to only cover the 2010-2015 Prius and 2011-2017 Prius V models and not the Prius C. There are several reports of this same issue happening on the Prius C as well though so it doesn't make sense that it is not covered.Read more

I cautiously proceeded through my turn to a thankfully quiet intersection as the brakes were completely unresponsive. I had ZERO brake function. I was able to slowly come to a rolling stop enough to get the truck in park where I turned it off and back on and the brake function returned. I cautiously drove to the local chevy dealer where I was informed that the battery drain pulls from low voltage when it needs extra power for start up. This is utterly terrifying that it is even possible for the battery to start the truck WITHOUT ANY BRAKE FUNCTION. Had this happened just two lights before or after where I was, it would have been a news headline. I could have easily been headed up and over a bridge leading to a catastrophic event at the bottom where I would have been completely unable to stop my truck by any means other than a collision. I would have preferred a dead battery at a red light. Seems a whole lot safer. I'm now stressed beyond measure at the thought of some failure in the future that could lead to another event such as this. My truck is now a nightmare wondering what electrical malfunction is going to put me and/or my wife and daughter in a life or death situation, let alone others on the road. This shouldn't even be an option for the truck to start at the expense of a critical safety function. Not to mention there is no function for the auto start stop system to be deactivated permanently by my choice. I am beside myself and scared to drive.Read more

On April 25th, 2025 while traveling on Interstate 20 at 70+mph speeds with my children in my vehicle and 30 weeks pregnant, with no indication of an issue my 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe suffered catastrophic engine failure. However, the failure prevented me from being able to turn on my signal to alert other drivers of my merging and prevented the use of my emergency flashers to signal once on the shoulder immobile. The vehicle would not start up again after that, and I had to call a tow truck to take my vehicle to the nearest certified Chevrolet service center. When the tow truck arrived the vehicle would not even shift into neutral allowing them to load it without potentially causing more damage. It had to be drug with the wench in park onto the tow truck bed. Once at the nearest service center I was told it would be up to 3 weeks + before they could do a diagnostics. I was 14 hours from home when this happened, and now had to pay to have my Tahoe towed 14 hours back to the service center near my home. On May 8th the failure was determined to be caused by this recall, specifically the crankshaft. The dealership has lied and said they've ordered a new motor and it came in, then called to tell me they ordered the wrong motor. They said they ordered the correct one and it would be in within 14 days, and that was 25 days ago. They called today June 16, 2025 to tell me there is still no update on when my engine will ship to complete this repair. The dealership has also refused to assist me with any loaner vehicle or rental assistance even though GM has told me I am entitled to it under this recall. GM has moved my case to Parts Delay team and I still have not been contacted.Read more
