I am filing a complaint regarding a safety issue with my 2020 Ford Explorer that was not properly addressed during a recall repair, leading to a dangerous situation. Vehicle Details Make: Ford Model: Explorer Year: 2020 Recall Repair Details In January 2024, I took my vehicle to Coconut Point Ford in Estero, FL, for a recall repair related to the rear axle horizontal mounting bol
... t, which was at risk of fracturing. The recall required the replacement of the subframe bushing and rear axle bolt to prevent driveshaft disconnection. Incident Description Recently, while driving under normal conditions, the bolt fractured, causing the differential to nearly detach from the vehicle. This failure could have resulted in a catastrophic accident. I am now facing a $6,000 repair bill for an issue that should have been resolved under the recall. Safety Risk The failure of the bolt and the near detachment of the differential posed a severe safety risk, as it could have led to a loss of control of the vehicle, especially at highway speeds. Dealership Response When I brought this to the attention of Coconut Point Ford, they stated that "bolts are not covered under the extended warranty." However, since this is a recall-related issue, I believe Ford is obligated to cover the repair costs. The service writer, Steve, has been helpful, but the resolution has been delayed. Additional Context I am aware of class action lawsuits against Ford regarding this defect, which allege that the recall fix does not fully address the issue and that the design is inherently flawed. Request I request that the NHTSA investigate this matter to ensure that Ford is held accountable for properly addressing this safety recall and to prevent similar incidents from occurring to other vehicle owners. Thank you for your attention to this serious safety concern.Read more

This vehicle I am driving has going on 24,000 miles only and over the course of the 23,000 miles it started making me do a 12V reset which very scary when you in traffic, have to pull to the side of the road, the car blinks "Check Hybrid System" with the little what looks like a tire pressure monitor system but it is a exclamation point and says "HEV" inside. My vehicle will die while pulling off
... to the side of the road, I have to park it, and 12V reset it, and start the car up again, in order to get to where I was going. I can not sit in one place. In fact this battery reset happened two times last night on June 18th at a drive thru while waiting for dinner and once while waiting on a pharmacy drive thru line about two weeks ago. All this is idling. I never had a lockout issue with my car where I had to get in with my key and 12V reset it. It's only when the car is on and idling. I'm well aware of Hyundai hybrids having 2 batteries, so it is definitely not the battery controlling my acc, it's controlling my main controls. I have done so much research on my vehicle and just know this will be such a hassle to get replaced although I paid very good money for my vehicle, and the batteries are under warranty. I will have to roll the dead battery into Hyundai's lot so they do something, but even then they think 12V resetting will be a normal thing, not when I'm travelling down the freeway during rush hour. A 12V reset should be there for utmost emergencies, not to be used on a daily basis multiple times a day. Hyundai needs to take ownership and do something about it. Is it an alternator to the battery or is it their lithium ion batteries they use, is it a wire that sucks, they need to do something and get all the hybrids fix because it's not just Elantras, many Tucsons, sonatas, etc. Have the same issue all across the years I have seen to 2020. Very faulty.Read more

On June 4th I was in a hurry to get to work, pushed open my car door and started to slide in at which point the door unexpectedly to me swung back shut, clamping my head behind my ear pressing it against the top of the door frame. It seems this is an issue with the design of the car as opposed to a defect as there are no warning lights or recalls. I am still trying to figure out the effects of this injury. I have been to two doctors- not immediately because at first there were no immediate effects except for the discomfort of the pressure at the time. But less than 24 hours following the incident I developed a puffed up patch behind the ear where the door clamped, and now have developed a very swollen painless lymph node behind my other ear as well as headaches and some soreness that comes and goes. I have not contacted Tesla about the problem yet but am extremely cautious when I use the door and I don’t drive people in the car. I have included some photos but also just took some videos illustrating how the door swings back shut pretty forcefully when pushed open.Read more

Air conditioning could cause a safety problem during hot days, forcing the driver to drive with all windows down and still remain very hot and sweaty while driving. The A/C system in this vehicle is so poorly designed that I've spent $6,000 in 8 years of ownership just to keep the A/C running. The primary problem is that is has a separate rear HVAC zone, which requires both high & low side freon l
... ines to run under the length of the vehicle to a rear condenser. These lines are not shielded in any way from being hit by road debris. I'm replacing a leaking rear A/C for the third time at a cost of $1800. These lines should be shielded so they are not getting pelted by rocks and other debris. It's a very bad design that exposes a potential safety issue. When these lines break, it also dumps all of the freon into the atmosphere.Read more

I was in a car accident on June 12, 2025, and my steering wheel airbag did not deploy correctly or function correctly. It was a front in straightforward collision. Warning stays on pretty consistently because we live

About two years ago, I had the windshield replaced because I had a crack in it. A certified tech approved by my insurance replaced it. Once that happened, I noticed the right A-pillar was loose. Thinking it was something they did incorrectly, I called and they came to fix it; however, a day later, it did the same thing. The clips would not fit correctly. While going down the road, it flew off and
... scraped the side of my car. Now there isn't an A-pillar and I'm afraid water is getting into my car. Since that happened, my electrical system has been acting strange. I called the AutoNation and I was told the saw the recall, but they didn't have any fixes for it yet. That was in 2024.Read more

Bought our 2022 Honda Odyssey in November of 2021. Vehicle has the Idle/Stop feature. That feature never worked properly. Always said, warming up or charging and didn't work. I called the dealership on June 11, 2025 to make an appointment. After seeing something else on the news about a recall, I decided to look up my issue. I found that there is an investigation and lawsuits about it. I had no idea. I had no idea a letter was sent to owners. I NEVER received it!! I looked at my service records and on February 15, 2024, at an oil change, the dealership fixed a recall per Honda for Auto Start and says UPDATED. My vehicle is still having issues.Read more

I’m reporting a high-pitched noise issue with my 2025 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid. At highway speeds (approximately 68–74 mph), a persistent, high-frequency tone becomes audible from the front driver’s side of the vehicle. It is sharp, constant, and noticeably affected by the vehicle’s battery charge and speed. There are no warning lights, messages, or error indicators. However, the sound is
... extremely distracting and physically uncomfortable to endure. My wife has a preexisting auditory condition (tinnitus), and this sound makes it extremely difficult to drive or ride in the vehicle without pain or aggravation. It has made the vehicle nearly unusable for her on highways. I’ve brought this to a dealership, where multiple technicians and even a factory engineer inspected the vehicle. They confirmed the presence of the sound using audio measurement tools, and noted that similar sounds are present in other CR-V Hybrids. Despite this, I was told by the manufacturer that the sound is “normal” and that no fix is currently available. This issue has been present since I first took possession of the vehicle. The dealership and manufacturer have confirmed that it exists, but no resolution has been provided. While I may be one of the first people to raise the issue, I believe this may become a much broader concern. A continuous, high-pitched noise at highway speeds could be dangerous—it might distract drivers, cause fatigue, or even lead to long-term hearing discomfort or damage. I am hoping that NHTSA will investigate this issue or track whether other drivers begin reporting similar experiences. I would welcome any guidance on what steps I can take next, or whether further inspection of the vehicle is possible.Read more

This cant be safe, and Toyota says there is nothing they can do. I hope this doesn't wear out the brake pads faster and cause an accident. We were told by Toyota we cant fix the problem, because it would void the warranty and there

Recently, my 2020 Ford Explorer showed a front passenger TSMP failure followed by the rear driver TSMP failure light about 3 weeks later. Within a day or two of the second TSMP light displaying, I had multiple codes lighting up my dash: 4WD fault, hill-start assist unavailable, service advance track, pre-collision assist unavailable, check manual, etc. I found my car was not accelerating every tim
... e I pressed the acceleration pedal, and it would stop maintaining my speed and appear to drift like power was lost for a couple to few seconds before resuming power. This caused me to move into a turn lane or make an unexpected turn off the road as I could not maintain speed in the midst of traffic. It was terrifying and dangerous to myself, my children and the vehicles moving around me. One reputable repair shop replaced the TSMP sensors; however, the codes for the other warning lights showed a communication error that only Ford could diagnose. Ford stated the AWD module failed, which meant the different systems were not in communication when I was driving which led to the loss of power that I experienced multiple times while driving to repair shops. Ford stated the AWD module needed to be replaced. It is unbelievable that I would have 2 TSMP sensors and an AWD module fail in less than 5 years of the vehicle being manufactured when I have never replaced any of those items in 7-8 years of owning other vehicles with similar components. I believe Ford has used inferior parts that they know will fail to drive their repair revenue, which is unethical and unsafe to consumers.Read more
