MMI spontaneously reboots numerous times while driving. When the reboots happen, the screen goes black and key systems such as the backup camera, rear obstacle detection, and navigation, become unavailable until the reboot completes and the systems reload. Restoring functionality requires user input to get through the loading screens. The issue started in February/March 2025 and I requested my the
... Audi dealer to investigate while performing a 50,000 mile service in May 2025. This appears to be a widespread issue based on the numerous reports found on user forums online, affecting the same model year vehicles (for multiple examples, refer to [XXX] ). This should be considered a safety issue, as the reboots can happen in the middle of a reverse parking maneuver, and they render the backup camera and obstacle detection sensors completely inoperative until the system reloads. They also impact safety on the highway, as the reboots completely disable the navigation screens, and require multiple user input to restore, while driving. The steering wheel is sticking in my 2017 Civic. This problem happens more frequently after I have been driving for a while and is more common at speeds above 40 mph. The steering wheel will feel "locked" in place and require force to turn the wheel. It feels sticky and heavy, and occurs especially often on the freeway, leading to dangerous situations where I have to jerk the wheel, either causing
... my car to deviate from my path, or not allowing me to respond to changing road conditions in time. The steering column is still original and has not been previously repaired. These symptoms sound surprisingly like NHTSA recall # 4V-744, though my vehicle falls outside of the model range. Potentially defective parts include the electric power steering rack, the gearbox worm wheel, or a clock spring. It has not been replicated at a dealer despite multiple inspections, but I finally got a video of it happening. It has been happening for about a year, but has been getting worse. I checked my tire inflation multiple times and it has not resolved the problem. No warning lamps, message, or other symptoms have been reported.Read more

I brought my 2017 Honda Civic to an authorized dealership in Phoenix, AZ in June 2025 for A/C issues. Honda has issued an extended warranty on A/C compressors and condensers due to known defects, and my compressor was found to be leaking and covered under that warranty. However, the dealership refused to perform the warranty repair unless I agreed to pay $2,311 out of pocket to replace the evapora
... tor, citing signs of dye in the evaporator case. I declined, and the compressor repair was denied. When I picked up the vehicle, the A/C system was worse than before. Before the inspection, the driver side blew 90°F air and the passenger side blew 68°F. After the inspection, both sides blow extremely hot air and there is a loud hissing noise coming from the dash. I now cannot operate the vehicle safely in 110°F+ Arizona heat. This is not just an inconvenience — it’s a potential safety hazard, particularly in a state like Arizona where cabin temperatures can become dangerous. Honda’s refusal to honor the warranty and deterioration of system function following the inspection suggest bad faith and put driver and passenger health at risk. I am filing this report to document the issue and to add to any investigation into this widespread A/C defect on 2016–2018 Honda Civics.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The Engine Control Module (ECM) is malfunctioning, triggering persistent P0101 codes related to the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. This specific issue is addressed in Nissan Technical Service Bulletin DE97AA, which recommends an ECM reprogramming. The component is still installed in the vehicle and is a
... vailable for inspection. ⸻ • How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? When the vehicle is at a complete stop and I attempt to accelerate, it becomes jumpy and unresponsive, refusing to accelerate properly. This creates a serious safety hazard, especially when trying to merge into traffic or cross intersections, as I am unable to match the speed of other vehicles. This increases the risk of being rear-ended or causing an accident due to unexpectedly slow acceleration. ⸻ • Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. An independent mechanic diagnosed the issue and confirmed the code P0101. After reviewing Nissan’s official TSB DE97AA, they advised me to go to a Nissan dealership to have the ECM reprogrammed as outlined in the bulletin. ⸻ • Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, but not yet by the manufacturer. The dealership is aware of the issue but has refused to perform the repair without payment. ⸻ • Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. The Check Engine Light is consistently triggered by code P0101, and the traction control warning light also comes on when the issue is active. The symptoms appeared recently and continue to recur even after the code is reset.Read more

Hope this email finds you well. I am writing to address a serious matter regarding my 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour, which has been facing recurrent misfires due to what appears to be a manufacturer-induced oil consumption defect in the engine design. Over the past 18 months, I have experienced extensive repairs on my Honda, surpassing any issues I have encountered with previous vehicles. Despite
... my diligent efforts In maintaining the car with regular tune-ups and oil changes , it is disheartening to witness fluids seeping into the engine, causing damage to multiple components. I have invested a significant amount of money into resolving these issues, expenses that should not have arisen with a Honda vehicle, given my positive experiences with the brand in the past. Upon contacting customer service and receiving a case number, I have found the assistance provided to be inadequate in addressing these issues severity of the situation. The recent revelation of a 2014 lawsuit further compounds my concerns, as it appears that Honda seeks to evade accountability for widespread engine malfunctions, leaving loyal customers like myself in a distressing predicament. Despite the substantial financial outlay exceeding $1200, my vehicle remains inoperable due to the unintended consequences of the oil leakage onto pistons, a situation exacerbated by the lack of proactive measures from Honda in rectifying this critical issue. I have meticulously preserved all documentation, including receipts detailing the damages incurred as a result of the oil consumption defect. While I acknowledge the complexities surrounding warranty coverage and ownership transfer, it is evident that the fundamental flaw lies in the initial design of the engine, which has compromised the vehicles performance and safety. Honda’s reluctance to acknowledge and address this inherent defect reflects poorly on their commitment to customer satisfaction and product This what I emailed to Honda.Read more

The steering has been sticking for quite some time in the "straight" or center position. One must provide excessive force to the steering wheel to get the car to alter direction left or right. The steering wheel will resists normal minor corrections to follow the road. The steering wheel requires excessive force to "break loose" of the center position which results in overcorrection to the left or
... right. Picture a car veering left and right over and over while traveling straight as no road is completely straight and requires minor steering corrections to maintain a straight path. Almost ran off the road due to the force required to correct the car's path. This is an extremely majot safety issue that Honda MUST address. The car has far too few miles to have this major problem. I have NEVER had a car in the past that was so dangerous to myself and the public at large. Steering is the most basic of controls. Even a car with a worn out reciprocating ball or a worm gear rack will still steer off-center as required. This is an accident and disaster just waiting to happen. I demand Honda and NHTSA approve and require the no cost to me repair of the steering system immediately or public outcry will be unrelenting.Read more

After the 73B recall was performed on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, the vehicle began experiencing persistent check engine lights and charging issues, especially during charging. Diagnostic scans revealed codes U0412 (invalid data from battery energy control module) and P0BBE (hybrid battery pack voltage variation), both directly related to the high-voltage battery system. These issues began w
... ithin days of the recall and escalated, with the battery fault becoming permanent by late May 2025. The recall was issued due to a risk of fire from the high-voltage battery, caused by defects that can develop over time. The recall remedy included a software update to monitor for dangerous battery conditions and disable charging if a risk is detected, as well as inspection and replacement of the battery if necessary. My vehicle’s post-recall symptoms—persistent warning lights and charging faults—are exactly the type of problems the recall is meant to detect. The problem was confirmed by diagnostic data and scan reports, which were sent from the dealer to Chrysler’s technical support (STAR), but the vehicle itself was not physically inspected by the dealer or STAR. Both refused to authorize battery replacement, citing the contradicting STAR report, despite clear evidence of battery failure and the recall’s stated purpose. The battery and related components are available for inspection upon request. My safety and my family’s safety are put at risk, as the recall specifically warns owners not to charge or park the vehicle near structures until the remedy is complete, due to fire risk. Multiple other owners have reported similar post-recall battery failures, indicating a broader unresolved safety issue. Chrysler has not provided a satisfactory resolution, and the vehicle continues to exhibit battery faults and charging issues after the recall remedy.Read more

I am looking for help in reporting an issue. I have been told by my dealership they understand it is a problem; however, there is nothing they can do about it even though it is a safety issue. My motorcycle has been prematurely canceling the turn signals, prior to a partial/full turn since the date of purchase [XXX]. Nearly every time the left/right turn signals were activated, in a straight
... away and at a relative constant speed, they would turn off after 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 12, 14, 15 or 18 blinks. There is no pattern to the number of turn signal blinks and premature cancellation except that it generally happens between 10 and 44 mph. Very rarely would the turn signals make it to 20 blinks (1 out of 10-14 turn signal activations), unless the motorcycle was at highway speeds above 45ish mph. This unpredictable pattern makes dangerous conditions for the rider, especially during city traffic patterns. Many times, I have approached an intersection and applied left/right turn signals and have started to make a turn only to notice my turn signals have prematurely canceled and the other drivers were not aware of my intent to turn. Once I noticed the turn signals were canceling early, I often had to activate them two or three times before I completed a turn. I took my bike to Harley Davidson 27 May 2025 and explained to the service department that the turn signals were cancelling prematurely. I was told that it only affects a small % of bikes and that HD corporate knows it is a problem but is still selling bikes without verifying if the fault exists. I was told they don't have a fix and advise the customer to keep riding the bike even though they know it might likely result in injury/death at some point. ... r Technical Service Bulletin ENG222 (Rev 5). This condition creates a risk of engine failure while driving, especially because there are no warning signs that the engine is about to seize. I am in the process of contacting my dealership but Kia of America declined to acknowledge this issue despite it being well documented and affecting a wide range of Kia engines. I believe this is a safety defect that warrants further investigation due to: 1) Sudden engine failure or stalling from low oil levels 2) Lack of adequate early warning indicators 3) Unreasonable financial exposure to consumers for a manufacturer-related defect 4) A pattern of complaints across similar models/engines. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter further and ensure Kia is held accountable for this widespread and dangerous issue.Read more

I have not been involved in an accident yet. You can’t drive the truck because the warning goes every 2 minutes. The brake hydraulic control unit has failed and they will not fix the truck. I can’t pull my camper. I have at least 6 hours on the phone with Ram and they say there is nothing they can do. The dealer ship says they have the part that is on the truck now, but Ram will not allow them
... to install it. It’s not the new part. Mean while my truck is useless until they fix it. They have been aware of this issue since 2017 and they still do not have a replacement part. The right thing for them to do is put the they have on hand on it so I can a least drive the truck. The truck has 90k miles on it. The vin # [XXX] . While driving, the vehicle has been going into limp mode at varying speeds on the roadway or while pulling onto the road. The problem lies within the components of the electric throttle body. The system malfunctions and locks the throttle body closed, thus putting the truck into limp mode. Shutting the vehicle off, waiting, and restarting temporarily resolves this issue UNTIL the PCM detects a fau
... lt in the electrical components of the throttle body and sends the truck into limp mode. When this happens, it also triggers a warning message regarding hill start assist. This is an extreme safety issue as pulling onto the roadway or loosing power in traffic and not being able to pull off can lead to collisions especially around blind curves or in heavy traffic. There also isn’t always a location to safely pull off the roadway, potentially leaving the vehicle and its operator in the roadway, increasing the risk of collision and injuryRead more

Oil consumption on vehicle engine leading the engine to run low on oil for extended periods of time
Incident date: Mar 1, 2025
We took our vehicle to Weber Chevrolet in Granite City, Il on June 26 for an oil change. My husband and I purchased the vehicle on [XXX] from this dealership. We asked if they could put a heavier oil in the vehicle due to this being as one of the remedial fixes for the recall. The service department manager informed us that they would not be able to do this due to it voiding our warranty. They cou
... ld not give a general answer as to when they will address the recall. My husband and I have safety concerns about taking this vehicle cross country for a family vacation at the end of July. We have decided to trade the vehicle in for a different model due to the uncertainty of the recall. Appallingly, no dealership, including the Chevy dealership we bought it from , is willing to take our 9 month old truck as a trade. We were informed by three separate dealerships that the car is basically worthless and they are not willing to have it sit on their lots depreciating until the recall is complete. It is completely unacceptable that we, as consumers, are stuck with a vehicle that has a potential safety risk. The car has already depreciated by $10,000 according to Kelly Blue Book. We have filed a complaint with the BBB, Illinois States Attorney Office, and with General Motors. General Motors informed me on July 2 that they will not address the recall until an issue occurs. If an issue occurs then they will address it at that time. Furthermore , they are not willing to buy the vehicle back, attempt to see if the engine is fine, nor willing to allow us to trade for another GMC vehicle. We are at a loss as far as our safety, loss of investment, and lack of any help from General Motors. I am adding screen shots of my communication with the general manager from Weber Chevrolet, jimmy Mckechan. Customer satisfaction program 16B11 covers a faulty high speed cooling fan relay. This bulletin was issued on April 5, 2016. I purchased the vehicle on [XXX]. An incorrect relay was installed at the factory, and the program should have replaced the relay with the correct part. This was not performed on my vehicle before I purchased it from Sheehy Ford of Ashland. The faulty relay failed, melting
... the fuse box in the process and causing the vehicle to overheat and cause permanent severe engine damage. Remnants of the melted relay show the part number, which matches the obsolete part number. Visual comparison of the faulty relay matches the obsolete part as well, and differs from the correct superseded part number relay outlined in the 16B11 bulletin. Ford Motor Company insists my vehicle was not a part of this program and any repairs will not be covered. The build date, make/model/engine, assembly plant and most importantly, part number of the relay and mode of failure exactly match the 16B11 CSP bulletin. Ford denies that there is any issue with my vehicle. Local Ford dealers refer me to Ford Motor Company to escalate this problem, but Ford refuses to investigate.
