I had routine oil change. I picked up my car and immediately the red warning light came on. I called garage. They said it was PVC valve for high pressure. I fixed that. This is next routine oil change. Now the accessory bracket seal and oil cooler seal need to be repaired. My car only has 68,340k on it. I see there are many complaints on line about this issue.

The car would "skip" while driving. If paused at a light/stop sign, I would hit the gas and the RPMs would increase, but the car would not drive, then it would jerk and go. When driving, my foot would be at a consistent pressure on the gas, but the car would slow down as if I lifted by foot. Then the car would jerk and increase in speed again. There were no warning lights or messages at any of
... those moments. Due to concerning safety, I was driving to the shop to have it evaluated when I broke down at a stop light. 5 minutes before breaking down, the first light came on with a message in the Ford app stating "powertrain malfunction". When at a light, the automatic break kicked on and would not let me drive. When evaluated at the local dealership they said "there are multiple DTCs for internal transmission issues: DTC P0751/P2700 for a clutch mechanical fault, and P07E4 indicating the vehicle is unable to engage park. The A clutch is dragging, causing it to intermittently creep forward in neutral. The transmission will need to be replaced to correct the issue." The cost to replace it is $10,000+.Read more

My 2018 Silverado z71crew cab LT , 5.3L engine was having issues with hold Freon in AC unit. We took to dealer to be fixed in June 2025. They added Freon and it was running good for a week then once again blew but no cold air. So took back second time 7/3/25 and they started the die test and machine went down in middle of doing it. So could not finish fixing . We took back on 07/20/25 and they com
... pleted the test needed condenser . So few days later we took to our local mechanic to have the condenser replaced and all is well with the AC unit now. Everything was fine from mid July 2025 till Oct 14 th 2025 , when it started shaking and was running rough and engine light was on so I had it checked for codes to see what it needed. Came back as bad injector. So we took to local mechanic to have injector replaced and tuneup and coils replaced . After this was completed was running much rougher then before we even had that injector and tuneup done. So mechanic suggested for him to keep it and let him dive deeper into what was wrong and why it was running rougher than before, so we let him do that.. after two days, he came back and told us that there was a crack in the engine and that is why it was running rough and that it probably was going to have an engine failure and might be and must be replaced. So I looked up my VIN number to see if there’s any recalls for my particular truck and engine size which is a 5.3 L and it doesn’t show my particular truck but it does show my year of a Silverado and the 3.6 L engine has had the same issues so I was wondering if this recall should be extended to the 5.3 L 2018 seems to be the same problem with the engine block.Read more

I have taken my truck in to the dealership twice already for the same issue and they are telling me they cannot find the issue. My truck would not start, so I replaced the battery. Noticed that the voltage would drop after driving it about 20 miles or so. Normal range is 13.5V. I bought it with 11 miles on it in June of 2023 and didn't have this issue until September of 2025. The truck only had about 37,400 miles on it when it started messing up. I am scared/worried that the truck will just stop while driving. I have read many forums and stories about many others are having this issue too. The Motor Generator Unit (MGU) malfunctioning. While driving up hill in low gear, the vehicle suddenly will jerk, a service light will come on, and a powertrain warning will occur. When this happens, it warns that the pre-collision assist is unavailable, as well as the exhaust mode selection. Once this occurs, the vehicle becomes much more difficult to drive as the rev match no longer occurs, the vehicle no longer increases revs as you sta
... rt releasing the clutch, and when in gear it becomes more jerky as you are driving along. I don't have the experience but I suspect it is essentially in a low power mode with minimal computer aid. After being able to pull off and turn the car off for a number of minutes (not off and on as that does not resolve it), the vehicle returns to normal. This has happened twice now while driving on the same section of roadway in almost the exact same spot. I previously called the dealer after the first time and they told me if it happens again to bring it in. They did not seem interested in looking at it. I will be hopefully doing that tomorrow. I am not sure if it is related, but the vehicle did seem like it was running rich earlier in the day (a slight smell of gas when driving by).Read more

I’m writing this message out of frustration, exhaustion, and genuine concern for public safety. Over the past months, I’ve been renting and driving multiple cars from different brands and models — Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, and now a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E — and all of them show the same dangerous behavior: •sudden phantom braking for no reason, •traction control malfunctioning, throwin
... g the car from side to side, •unstable handling, especially on highways or during light rain. This is not an isolated case — it’s happening across several brands and systems, which makes me question what is really going on. Why are drivers being forced to deal with unreliable technology that clearly isn’t ready for real-world conditions? Are these systems being tested using real drivers as data sources to “teach” self-driving cars how to handle special situations? Because that’s what it feels like — we are being used without consent, forced to correct constant software mistakes that could cost lives. This situation has destroyed my professional and financial stability. I work as a rideshare driver (Uber and Lyft), and passengers have reported me as “unsafe” because the car suddenly brakes or moves erratically — something completely out of my control. I’ve lost access to stable work, fell behind on my car payments, and ended up returning my own vehicle because of all the expenses and stress trying to fix something that was never broken in the first place. And I have to ask: Why did NHTSA approve a regulation that prevents drivers from fully turning off these driver assistance systems? In what world does it make sense for a safety-critical technology to have no emergency off switch? In any other context — like electricity — we have breakers to stop the system when it becomes unsafe. Cars should be no different. I’ve lost almost everything I worked for because of this. Please, take this seriously. People’s lives, jobs, and mental health are being destroyed by this technology.Read more

The truck rapidly leaked oil, creating a roadway hazard and putting me, my wife & son, and other drivers at risk of accident. I was able to limp the vehicle home .5 miles from the incident at reduced speed, but complete engine seizure was a possibility. Toyota of Fort Walton Beach inspected the vehicle, confirmed metal shavings in the oil pan, documented codes P05202 and P052049 (low oil pressure and oil pressure sensor stuck in range), and noted “oil was very metallic.” The vehicle was inspected by Toyota dealership technicians and corporate representatives. I also have possession of the oil filter and photos/videos from the inspection. At the moment of failure, the dash displayed low oil pressure, check engine light, and a message regarding engine/electronic malfunction. Prior to this event, there were no warning signs — the truck had been serviced two weeks earlier at 33,360 miles, and I drove approximately 1,200 miles without incident until the catastrophic failure. This failure matches the description in Toyota Recall 24V-381. My vehicle’s build date (February 27, 2023) is less than two weeks outside the published recall production window, yet the symptoms and inspection results are identical. I respectfully request NHTSA investigate whether additional 2023 Toyota Tundra vehicles outside the current recall window are affected, as my case demonstrates the same hazards.Read more
