I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2019 Subaru Forester related to failure of the Electric Power Steering (EPS) system. Since April 21, 2026, I have been in communication with Subaru of America regarding whether this issue is related to an existing safety recall (WUC-88). During this time, I provided detailed information about multiple occurrences of EPS warning light activation a
... nd intermittent loss of steering assist while driving. A local repair shop also inspected the vehicle and confirmed EPS-related diagnostic trouble codes (including B2811 and C2512), which are consistent with known EPS issues. This information was shared with Subaru of America; however, I did not receive a clear or actionable response, and the case has been delayed without resolution. Initially, the issue was intermittent, with the EPS warning light turning on and off. However, since May 9, 2026, the EPS warning light has remained continuously ON, indicating that the condition has worsened. On May 11, 2026, I visited an authorized Subaru service center while the EPS warning light was actively ON. Despite the issue being clearly present, the dealership only took photos confirming the EPS warning light and did not perform any additional diagnostic testing or repair. They advised that the EPS rack needs replacement at an estimated cost of approximately $2,500, with the part currently on backorder and no clear repair timeline. I have already reported this visit and the current condition to Subaru of America and am still awaiting a response. This issue involves intermittent and now persistent loss of steering assist while driving, causing the steering wheel to become extremely stiff and difficult to control. This poses a significant safety risk. Given that the issue has been ongoing since April, has been confirmed by both a repair shop and a Subaru dealer, and remains unresolved, I believe this represents a safety defect that is not being properly addressed. I am submitting this complaint regarding a 2019 Kia Sorento that has experienced recurring oil loss/oil starvation and engine-related issues that I believe may present a safety concern. I purchased the vehicle used with approximately 45,000 miles. Since ownership, the vehicle has experienced repeated incidents involving low or nearly empty oil levels despite regular maintenance and monitoring. Th
... e vehicle previously underwent an oil consumption evaluation, however the issue continued afterward. During one event, the vehicle was reportedly found approximately three quarts low on oil. More recently, the vehicle again appeared to have little to no oil visible on the dipstick and began exhibiting drivability and engine concerns including grinding/banging noise during acceleration, intermittent timing/tensioner-type noise, misfires on cylinders 1 and 2, exhaust smoke, and strong oil-burning odor from the exhaust. Due to concern over possible engine damage and reliability, the vehicle was returned to the dealership for further diagnosis and repair. The dealership replaced ignition coils and spark plugs and road tested the vehicle extensively. While the vehicle is currently operating, I remain concerned that the underlying oil consumption/oil starvation condition may not have been permanently resolved. My concern is that repeated oil starvation conditions could potentially lead to sudden engine failure, loss of power while driving, or other safety-related issues. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed to determine whether similar complaints or defects exist involving oil consumption, oil starvation, or related engine failures in this vehicle.Read more

On April 19, 2026 at approximately 9:40 PM, I was driving my leased 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan southbound on [XXX] [XXX] . I had three minor passengers with me — my daughters ages [XXX] and [XXX] , and their stepsister age [XXX] . We were returning home to [XXX] from a family trip to Walt Disney World. Without any warning — no dashboard lights, no sounds, no hesitation — the engine completely
... lost all power at highway speed. I pressed the gas pedal repeatedly with full force and there was absolutely no response. The car decelerated uncontrollably in active nighttime highway traffic. We were stranded on the highway shoulder for approximately one hour before the car restarted. I drove home on side roads. This is a recurring defect. In December 2025, I brought the vehicle to Gunther Volkswagen of [XXX] , where it was documented on official repair order RO#XXX that the vehicle ‘SHUTS OFF AT LOW SPEEDS.’ The dealer replaced the EVAP canister and N80 purge valve under warranty. The defect was not resolved. In May 2026, an independent professional diagnostic by 4 Rings European using an Autel MaxiSys Ultra scanner (Report ID: XXX) found 30 stored fault codes across 19 vehicle systems, including fault code P253200 (Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit High) — directly consistent with the sudden engine cutout — plus active cylinder misfires on cylinders 2 and 3, three active EVAP system fault codes confirming the December 2025 repair failed, and a compromised airbag system (U140000 — function restriction due to low voltage). The vehicle was subsequently taken to Gunther Volkswagen of Coconut Creek again in May 2026, where the dealer diagnosed low voltage faults and replaced the battery under warranty. This is the second warranty repair attempt for recurring defects on this vehicle. I have filed a formal evidence preservation demand with Volkswagen Group of America’s General Counsel. The apparent failure involves the engine lubrication and/or cooling system. After approximately 30 minutes of driving, I noticed a strong burning oil/fluid/exhaust-type odor. Initially, I believed it was coming from other vehicles because my vehicle had passed inspection about two weeks earlier. Once parked and away from traffic, it became clear the odor was coming from my vehicle. About one hour
... later, I discovered a large puddle of oil underneath the vehicle. Upon inspection, the coolant reservoir was nearly empty and the engine oil level was almost completely absent from the dipstick. I added approximately four quarts of oil. The leak appears to occur or worsen once the engine reaches operating temperature. No warning lights, dashboard messages, or other indicators appeared before or during the failure. There were no visible leaks where the vehicle had been parked earlier that same day. The burning odor was the only symptom prior to discovering the fluid loss. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle appears capable of rapidly losing oil and coolant without warning, which could result in engine seizure, loss of power, fire risk, or loss of vehicle control while driving. Oil leaking onto road surfaces could also create hazards for other motorists. The vehicle has never been off-road or driven on anything other than paved roads, and the leak does not appear to originate from the oil drain plug area. The vehicle and failed components are available for inspection upon request. Because this occurred during the weekend, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer or independent repair facility. I intend to contact the dealer on Monday for diagnosis and inspection. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives.Read more

My 2018 Honda CR-V LX (approx. 40,920 miles) has an electric power steering (EPS) rack that sticks and catches at highway speeds, typically above 35 mph. The steering wheel requires extra force to turn, then suddenly releases, creating a snap/lurch effect. This behavior poses a significant overcorrection risk during highway lane changes and gradual curves. There were no warning lights or messages
... prior to or during the problem. The issue presented gradually and has been consistent above the noted speed threshold. A Honda dealership diagnosed the vehicle and confirmed the fault. Their process included a test drive to reproduce the sticking, reproduction while stationary, and further confirmation with the vehicle lifted — turning the steering wheel by hand with the wheels off the ground. In that condition, the technician heard and identified clicking and popping from inside the rack, isolating the fault to the EPS rack assembly itself. The dealer's written recommendation is replacement of the EPS rack at a cost of $3,917.31 plus tax. The component is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or the manufacturer beyond the dealership visit described above. I am aware that NHTSA has previously investigated EPS gearbox faults on related Honda platforms involving worm gear/worm wheel defects, and that TSB 23-037 was issued for 2022–23 Civics describing an identical symptom. I believe my 2018 CR-V is affected by the same underlying defect. No repair has been performed at this time.Read more

While driving after leaving the dealership, the vehicle began jerking, hesitating during acceleration, and losing power unexpectedly. A flashing check engine light briefly appeared and disappeared. The sudden loss of normal engine performance created a serious safety hazard because the vehicle could have stalled in traffic, increasing the risk of an accident or collision. The vehicle is a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder experiencing a major transmission/CVT failure that creates serious safety concerns. Only 69 days after purchase, the transmission began failing and the vehicle became unsafe and unreliable to operate. The vehicle experiences severe transmission-related drivability problems, including hesitation, loss of proper acceleration, delayed response when attempting
... to move, jerking/shifting issues, and concern that the vehicle may suddenly lose the ability to move or maintain speed while driving. These issues create a dangerous situation, especially while driving in traffic, entering highways, crossing intersections, or transporting passengers. The transmission failure affects the vehicle’s ability to safely accelerate and maintain normal operation. A sudden loss of power or inability to properly accelerate could increase the risk of a crash, rear-end collision, or becoming stranded in traffic. The condition became severe enough that the vehicle is no longer dependable transportation. After the failure, the vehicle was evaluated by Nissan and I was informed the transmission showed signs of serious pre-existing issues. I was also advised there were possible indications that diagnostic trouble codes may have been cleared or hidden before the vehicle was sold, preventing the full condition of the vehicle from being discovered before purchase. The estimated repair cost is approximately $15,000. Due to the severity of the transmission defect, I do not believe the vehicle is safe for normal operation without major repair or replacement of the transmission/CVT system. This defect has created significant safety concerns for myself, my family, and others on the road because of the risk of sudden transmission failure, inability to safely accelerate, or loss of vehicle movement during operation.Read more

While driving at night, the LED headlight beams on my 2026 Subaru Uncharted GT exhibit excessive vertical oscillation/shaking after normal road impacts and bumps. The movement is significant enough to create a distracting flickering/bouncing effect within the driver’s field of view and reduces nighttime driving comfort and confidence. The condition is reproducible at all speeds and on normal ro
... ad surfaces. The headlight beam pattern continues to visibly oscillate after suspension movement rather than stabilizing immediately with vehicle motion. The issue can also be reproduced while stationary by lightly tapping or applying abrupt pressure to the front bumper/headlight area, causing noticeable beam shake against a wall or garage door. The concern does not appear to be an isolated defect. Multiple other 2026 Subaru Uncharted and related Toyota C-HR vehicles reportedly exhibit similar behavior, suggesting a potential design or mounting rigidity issue involving the headlight assemblies, front fascia, suspension damping, or associated mounting components. Because modern LED projector headlights have a sharp beam cutoff, the oscillation is highly noticeable and distracting during nighttime driving. I believe this condition may negatively impact driver visibility, comfort, and overall nighttime driving safety.Read more

This is a recent purchase. The forward collision braking system seems to be too sensitive and the braking is so immediate and abrupt it threw everything in my car forward including me, causing minor back pain. This has happened several times with the most recent being yesterday. I was no where near a car or potential collision each time. Yesterday, while driving on a busy highway, I had plenty of
... distance and it did it again nearly causing a car to rear end me. It was such an abrupt stop everything flew once again to the front of the car. The way this vehicle stops is going to cause an injury to a driver. Mark My words. It stops with such force that it throws the driver forward.Read more

The third brake light is not working on my 2022 Gladiator. It was working, but shortly after purchase it stopped working. This seems to be quite the issue as I have seen many Gladiators of all years with the third brake lights not working. This is a safety issue and will not pass inspection if not working. Since there are so many years of Gladiators with inoperable third brake lights it shows that
... the manufacturer has not addressed the issue. They then turn around and charge up to $100 per light replacement. Unacceptable! This is a government mandated item for vehicles, and as a mandated item it should work more than a couple of years. This is the first vehicle I have ever owned that has issues with the third LED brake light. If the government does not help correct this situation the manufacturer will never correct the situation, and replacement third brake lights will fail within a short period of time leading owners to pay for a part that fails continuously. I have read about many owners simply replacing the light with another Jeep third brake light and not reporting it, only to have it happen again later. Please do something about this highway robbery.Read more

There have been a couple recalls for Transmission/Engine Bearing and the Nissan Dealership has serviced the recalls. However, today May 8, 2022 while driving on the highway the check engine light appeared and a notification appeared check oil immediately. Then my engine and Transmission blew on the highway at 65 miles per hour causing my Nissan to immediately stop. I was able to quickly put my haz
... ard light on an move the Nissan off the highway and shut the vehicle off. After about 10 minutes I started the Nissan Rogue again and checked for any new messages/notifications. The Engine check light was still on and the check oil/change oil immediately appeared. The vehicle would not drive over 15 miles per hour. There was no power. I contacted the Nissan dealership and explained what happened the dealership has my Nissan Rogue and wants me to come in and trade my car to purchase a new vehicle.Read more
