I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the reliability of my 2023 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid, which I purchased with approximately 10,000 miles on it. The vehicle currently has around 85,000 miles and has already required major, unexpected repairs — most notably a head gasket failure, in addition to other mechanical issues earlier this year that totaled $2,000
... out of pocket. The fact that a relatively new Honda with an excellent service history and primarily highway miles would require a head gasket replacement this early in its lifespan is extremely troubling and calls into question the long-term reliability of the CR-V Hybrid platform. While I appreciate that Honda agreed to cover the head gasket repair through a goodwill arrangement, this situation has caused me considerable stress, financial hardship, and a loss of confidence in the vehicle — and, frankly, in Honda’s reputation for durability. Further compounding this frustration, the vehicle has recently begun exhibiting renewed roughness and vibration at various speeds, despite recent service, and I remain worried that I’m going to be saddled with ongoing problems that I should never have had to deal with on a vehicle this new. As a loyal Honda customer, I expected better. I chose this vehicle specifically for its reputation, fuel efficiency, and dependability. What I’ve experienced instead feels like a breakdown of quality control and corporate accountability. I am now significantly upside down on a vehicle that I can no longer rely on with confidence — yet I cannot afford to walk away from it.Read more

Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning
... (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. Here is an example forum discussion, indicating many if not all vehicles are affected: [XXX] Many people on the forum believe this issue did not start until a software update a year or so ago. This is a well known and widespread problem, and there is even a DOT Bulletin on the issue: dot.report Bulletins Because this is dangerous (for settings/gauges/units to no longer be useful while driving), and it occurs randomly, I strongly believe this issue should be a manufacturer recall. I am available for any needs. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

1. The components that failed were the transmission because the vehicle was driving and continued to slow down until it came to a complete stop gradually, and had to be pushed home. And also, there was an issue with the doors unlocking on their own and all windows rolling down by themselves. 2. The safety risk was the issues that happened without any knowledge of any issues at all with the vehicle
... . And the vehicle could have stopped on the highway, and another vehicle could have run into it, and it could have been a very bad incident. And with the doors unlocking and the windows rolling on their own could be exposed to unsafe environments and possibly theft of the vehicle or harm to the occupants. 3. Had a scan done, which showed the issues that were going on with the vehicle 4. I haven't had a chance to have it taken to the manufacturer because it broke down, and I was waiting for some help to get these issues repaired from the manufacturer. And needed from ACC. 5. There wasn't no indicators or lights on when this happened? I was told by a coworker about the windows being down, and with further investigations, I found the doors were unlocked as well, which was done automatically without my control.Read more

It has rebooted while I am pulling into my garage, parking, or backing up and actively using the cameras which poses a serious safety issue. It also occurs often when using bluetooth which can be a distraction, pulling my eyes off the road to grab my phone. We have experienced phantom AEB warnings and braking (60+ warnings w/o braking, around 10 brake activations) since owning the vehicle a little over a year now, purchased new. We took it into the dealer in May to have it addressed and they determined the AEB system was inoperable due to a defective front camera (windshield). After replacement and reprogramming, we picked up the vehicle and noticed
... a decreased sensitivity to our rear/side alerts AND ZERO forward AEB or proximity alerts of any kind. Not car, pedestrian, object or wall. Forward AEB alerts were completely disabled. Additionally, the vibrating safety seat which was previously inoperable (we assumed our car didn't have it) was on and functioning for all side/some rear alerts. We took the car back into the dealer and after 5+ days they determined it was a "faulty batch of cameras" and they replaced the front facing camera again. Today, we picked up the vehicle, being told everything was tested and reset so functioning properly- with our 3rd new forward camera. Yet, the AEB system was clearly inoperable again, zero front facing AEB/collision/proximity alerts - even though all settings 'on.' Rear alerts still seemed delayed and less accurate than before we brought the vehicle in the first time. I returned the vehicle to dealer and demonstrated again. My service rep agreed - it does not seem like it's just the front facing camera and must be a larger issue electronic issue. To date, I've been in contact with GM corporate executive team and have very little real concern or amelioration of these QC issues with the vehicle. We have spent over 20 days in the shop within 12mo. They refuse to acknowledge that there significant defect with the vehicle to warrant repurchase. These safety issues are only part of what appears to be serious QC deficiencies that put my family at risk. My wife and kids are in this car 98% of the time. I have a 2017 Ford Escape and just had it in the Ford dealer for inspection and was informed that all of my lug nuts are swollen a;nd stripped and need replacement. I checked online and found that this is a recurrent issue with Ford vehicles where the lug nuts can swell due to a two-piece design with a steel core and decorative outer shell, often made of aluminum or chrome. The outer shell can c
... orrode, swell, and delaminate making it difficult or impossible to remove the lug nut with a standard lug wrench. This is a common issue among Ford models and can lead to drivers being stranded with flat tires. There was a Class Action suit started in 2017 that was subsequently dismissed. I feel that this is negligent on Ford's behalf as it is a known design fault and safety issue and they should be issuing a recall to replace these lug nuts at no cost. I agreed to have Ford replace the lug nuts as I was concerned for my safety, should I need to get the lug nuts off. The cost was $267.95 plus 6% tax = $284.03. I was also informed that the replacement lug nuts are the same design and are only guaranteed for 2 years. I fail to understand why this safety issue doesn't warrant a recall to be issued and I should be reimbursed for my replacement.Read more
