Back in June 2025 my car started having an issue with the auto on/off light blinking on the dash and unable to be turned off. While driving and this happens, the car is unable to maintain its sped or accelerate. This has caused safety concerns many times. Dyer Kia first said it was an update, problem still remained. Then they said a deeper update was needed to no avail. The third attempt was a new
... transmission which caused more problems and still did not address the initial issue. Then they said it was the battery. They installed/ replaced an already new battery yet the problem still existed. Another transmission was put in and the problem still existed. Then they replaced the TCM and the issue still exists. The car is at a new dealership and already they are saying they have not found any codes to explain the problem yet and that they need to repair the battery terminal leads that the previous dealership broke before they are able to go further. Kia corporate is not helping me find a permanent solution to this issue and I still do not have my vehicle.Read more

The engine in my 2020 Kia Optima S (2.4L GDI Theta II) has been experiencing excessive oil consumption, engine knocking, and loss of power, consistent with known issues in earlier model years of this engine. This component is still in my vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. The issue puts my safety at risk due to unpredictable power loss while driving and the potential for engine
... seizure or fire, especially during high-speed travel. I’ve had to top off oil multiple times between regular oil changes, and the vehicle showed signs of low oil without any dashboard warning. No KSDS (Knock Sensor Detection System) software was ever installed on the vehicle. I have not yet had a full diagnosis from the dealer, but I have opened a case with Kia Consumer Affairs, who informed me that I do not qualify for recall repair based on the vehicle’s manufacture date — despite the engine matching those in previous lawsuits and recalls. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the dealer, manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. However, I can provide receipts for oil purchases and logs documenting how often I’ve had to refill the oil. I am also filing a claim with my third-party powertrain warranty provider. Symptoms first appeared at approximately 85000 miles Engine knocking/ticking noise Oil light flashing briefly or low oil found without warning Needing to add 1–2 quarts of oil between oil changes Rough acceleration or loss of power This issue is widespread, has been previously acknowledged in other model years, and should be formally investigated in the 2020 Optima as well. While driving my 2024 Kia Sportage PHEV X-Line AWD the instrument panel went black for 3-5 seconds and appeared to be "re-booting/resetting". The first time this occurred was approximately March 2025 (odometer reading approximately 6000 miles) and the issue has re-occurred numerous times (30+) since then (current odometer reading is 12,410). There was no warning prior to this happening and there w
... ere no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of any problems with the vehicle. I took the car into my local Kia dealer to have them check the instrument panel issue under warranty and to perform the recommended 8000 mile service. During the service visit they addressed the SC322 - Hybrid Control Unit Software upgrade recall. With regards to the instrument panel issue, the Service department told me that they could not fix the issue under warranty unless they could reproduce the issue. Therefore any work that they would perform to address the issue would have to be paid for by me. They suggested that I try to capture the issue on video as evidence of the issue. Given that the event only happens over a 3-5 second period, there is no way for me to safely videotape the issue while I am driving the vehicle and I have no idea when it will happen again. This issue has continued to occur randomly multiple times since that service visit with the last event happening three days ago. When the instrument panel goes black it is very distracting to the driver and draws your attention from the road to the instrument screen which puts the occupants of the vehicle at risk as well as others driving/walking around your vehicle. I have read online of others having this same issue with no clear consistent resolution from Kia. I strongly believe that this is a serious safety issue for many Kia drivers and needs to be addressed via a recall or voluntary dealer campaign to avoid unnecessary crashes/injuries.Read more

I notified the dealership of issues and they said I would have to drop the vehicle off and it would take 7-10 days before they could even look at it. The vehicle was purchased in December 2020 and currently has just under 75,000 miles. I was told that it was out of warranty. For the first 4 years of ownership the vehicle has always been serviced at a Ford dealership. I was never notified of any issues with the transmission. However they did notify me that a windshield wiper arm was recalled and that was changed. Early in the ownership of the truck, I experienced the vehicle moving backwards when on an incline and taking my foot off of the brake, before accelerating. Also, experienced clanking and jarring when accelerating and then having to take foot off of the accelerator. In 2023, when having the vehicle serviced for oil change, I asked the service technician about these issues and was told that there was nothing wrong and that it was just typical for that type of transmission.Read more

Multiple safety-critical systems have malfunctioned since shortly after purchase, continuing to this day. The most serious is the forward collision braking, which has triggered randomly during normal driving. These braking events have occurred on highways and surface streets, posing a serious risk if a vehicle were following closely. During arbitration, the manufacturer admitted this is a known de
... fect with no current fix, yet continues to return the vehicle marked as “repaired.” Additional issues include: Adaptive cruise control failure Intermittent charging failures (won’t initiate or randomly stops mid-charge) Infotainment screen freezing or going blank Inconsistent air conditioning performance Rear hatch failing to open/close and requiring physical force Bluetooth audio that disconnects unless the vehicle is powered off for 15+ minutes These problems have been reported to two GM-authorized dealerships. One repair attempt at a second location was ignored in arbitration. I also contacted GM corporate multiple times directly, requesting support. My attempts were either unanswered or dismissed, with no action taken. Many concerns were labeled “unable to duplicate,” even when I provided documentation. No warning lights appear with braking or charging failures. Most issues temporarily resolve after a full power-down, suggesting a software or control system fault. The manufacturer participated in arbitration and acknowledged the unresolved defects, but refused to provide further oversight or assign a factory technician. The vehicle is available for inspection. I am reporting this because the problems are ongoing and impact safety, reliability, and functionality.Read more

Update to ODI 11678614. This problem applies to non-FSD (Full Self Driving) Tesla Model Y cars. Tesla's manual describes Autopilot as Traffic Aware Cruise Control - it's the first step on non-FSD cars. The second step on non-FSD cars, Autosteer, is active lane keeping. In older Ys, the first stalk pull engages autopilot, second pull engages autosteer. 2026 Juniper doesn't have a stalk - a si
... ngle scroll wheel press engages both. I read the 300 page Juniper 2026 Model Y manual before driving it for the first time. On page 108, it lists 7 things that will cause autopilot to disengage. I presumed that comprehensive list was complete. unable to attach. Having *autopilot* disengage when turning the wheel in *autosteer* is not listed. During my 59K miles on my 2021 Model Y, I used autosteer for at least 20K miles. Turning the wheel in autosteer did *not* disengage autopilot. In my first emergency situation in the 2026 Juniper Model Y, turning the wheel *did* disengage autopilot, and the regen properly kicked in for the disengagement. This action came very close to causing a serious accident. My objections are 1) the action of *autopilot* (disengage / remain engaged) when the wheel is turned in *autosteer* is not documented, and 2) it's different between the old and new Ys using the same current software. I understand there were problems with autopilot remaining engaged, and perhaps the change was a good idea; that's an entirely different discussion. Make the action consistent and document it and I'm happy. Summary: In heavy traffic, while on autopilot / autosteer (cruise + active lane keeping), the car beside me suddenly tried to pull into my lane. I made an emergency lane change by turning the wheel, but the cruise also disengaged, (contrary to operation in the prior model) and went to maxiumum regen braking, causing the car behind me in the new lane to nearly rear-end me. Punching the accelerator during the surprising braking avoided the collision.Read more

On June 18th I was driving my car home when the engine shut off. I had it towed to my mechanic who ran a diagnostic test and told me the problem was under an active recall and I needed to take it to the dealership. I had it towed to the dealership, who informed me it would 300+ dollars to run a diagnostic test, I agreed to it, and then they took almost a month to notify me that my troubles were a
... timing chain and not the engine recall (which matches my symptoms exactly) The dealership said I could pay 5K+ to have the timing chain replaced but they would NOT be doing the active recall work on the vehicle and if I wasn't going to have the 5K in repairs done I could come pick up the car. I contacted the Corporate complaint, and was assigned a case manager who just relayed the same information from the dealership, I asked to speak with a supervisor and was denied. Multiple times I asked and multiple times I was told there was no one above my case manager so I would not be transferred to a supervisor. The dealership relayed that it was "not practical" to fix the recall work until I had the timing chain repaired. On a recorded line they stated they would not be fixing the recall work.Read more

I own a 2023 Chevy Bolt EV. Around 9/27/24 at 5,144 miles, the vehicle began experiencing serious electrical and propulsion issues. It has been to the dealership six times, each requiring a tow due to total loss of function. Issues include blown fuses, charging failures, shifting problems, propulsion loss, and repeated warning messages. Repairs have involved fuse box replacements, a new wiring har
... ness, and other electrical components. The car has spent over 100 hours inactive at the dealership. Problems have been confirmed by technicians, but persist despite repairs. Additional safety concerns include a defective impact sensor, airbag warning lights, and a burned-out headlamp. These compromise crash readiness and visibility. Due to ongoing issues, the vehicle has been parked and unused for months, as it is unsafe and unreliable to drive. The manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle. Based on repeated failures and unresolved safety risks, I believe this vehicle qualifies as a lemon and request further investigation.Read more

There were no warning lamps or messages indicating the fault will be occurring. It just reboots and the MMI goes totally blank for about 20 seconds while the system reboots. This is a non-issue in my other VW vehicle, as it has button instead of haptic touch on the steering wheel. Haptic touch should not be on a steering wheel.Read more
