Component/System Involved: The multi-purpose camera system on my 2018 Honda Fit has malfunctioned, disabling critical safety features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), and Collision Braking Warning System (CBWS). Safety Risk: The failure of these systems creates significant safety risks. Without ACC, the vehicle cannot maintain a safe distance from other vehi
... cles. The LKAS no longer provides steering assistance to help stay in the lane, and the CBWS cannot detect or warn of potential collisions. These malfunctions increase the likelihood of accidents, especially during highway driving or in heavy traffic. Problem Reproduction and Confirmation: The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by Norm Reeves Honda Cerritos during an inspection on 8/13/25. Inspection Details: The vehicle has been inspected by a dealer/service center, which diagnosed the problem. However, the manufacturer has not offered a resolution, nor has the vehicle been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or other parties. Warning Indicators: Before the failure, warning messages appeared on the dashboard, including alerts for ACC, LKAS, and CBWS system malfunctions. These warnings initially appeared on 8/12/25 and became more frequent over time. I believe this issue may be a design or manufacturing defect affecting other vehicles of the same make and model. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter to determine if it represents a broader safety concern.Read more

The message “Consider taking a coffee break” will pop up just 15 minutes into a trip. This message beeps prior to flashing on the screen which causes us to take our eyes off the road to determine what is beeping and continues to “alert” us often during our travels. Hyundai has not provided a way for this warning to be deactivated. Hyundai has way too many messages beeping and appearing on
... the screen that causes distractions and has not provided a way to turn them off. As for the speed control, my ophthalmologist suggested I wear dark sunglasses due to issues I have in bright sunlight. The speed control will actually turn off if I wear dark sunglasses because the onboard camera cannot see my eyes. Also, the speed control will turn off if I’m making a turn and my arm gets in the way of the camera. This is extremely dangerous that the speed control just stops. We also will get beeps and a message on the screen if the camera cannot see our eyes, even when we are looking straight ahead. Again, this causes us to see what is beeping and what the message says. This is a distraction that causes us to take our eyes off the road. Terrible design.Read more

This model is known to be affected by documented transmission issues, and Nissan has issued multiple Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) — specifically NTB15-083b and NTB20-035a — covering situations exactly like mine, where the transmission exhibits hesitation, poor acceleration, or becomes stuck in low gear without storing any diagnostic trouble codes. Relevant TSB Guidance as It Applies to My Case: - NTB15-083b and NTB20-035a instruct that even when no DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) are present, service departments must follow Nissan’s CVT performance diagnostics. - This includes checking CVT fluid condition, inspecting for internal pressure loss, and assessing for mechanical wear that may require replacement. - These TSBs also address repeated hesitation, sluggish acceleration, or limp mode behavior that temporarily resolves when the ignition is cycled — exactly what my vehicle experiences. Despite three documented service visits in July 2025 confirming my complaints and matching these TSB descriptions, the dealerships did not follow the required TSB procedures or replace the transmission. The vehicle has a design flaw which causes a bracket which connects the 2 pipes which connect to the catalytic converter to fail. Once the bracket has failed, the rear catalytic converter is allowed to vibrate more than designed, adding extra stress to the catalytic converter. Over time, this additional stress causes the catalytic converter to fail, releasing harmful gases directly from the engine
... exhaust manifold with carbon monoxide and other harmful gases into the air and into the passenger compartment of the vehicle. This is a know issue that GM has recalled on the 2019 (recall N212356540) and 2021 (recall N222385510) model year Traverse. Other years may have also been recalled that I am not aware of. For some reason, GM has neglected to take ownership of this issue on the 2018 Traverse which shares the same design as both the 2019 and 2021 model years. I have gone to the dealership and contact Chevrolet's customer service multiple times and they refuse to reimburse me for the cost of the necessary repairs.
