I switched my car from Reverse into Park to stop its movement, but it was too late to avoid the collision. I had a passenger in my car who corroborates this description. Fortunately there were no pedestrians behind my car, so the only damage was to the vehicles. My vehicle has not been inspected by anyone since the accident, but will be soon. I have owned this car since April 2021 and previously had a few similar situations when moving in the forward direction. Previously, the brake problem occurred while moving forward at very low speed pulling into parking places. The brake failed to activate, and I had to throw the car into Park to stop it, but this was the first time I had experienced this problem traveling in reverse. When this situation occurs, I am pressing on the brake pedal, but the car is not stopping and the brake pedal seems to go to the floor. On March 5, 2025 I took the car to a Lexus dealer and reported the brake failure problems. They inspected, road tested, and checked for codes, but could not identify the problem. I believe that the collision back up system should have prevented this accident, but it did not function. I suspect that there may be some kind of computer issue that prevents the brake from actuating. A quick search on Google states that 461,000 vehicles were effected and that a recall has been issued, but it has not been officially issued. After the update, the engine sustained catastrophic damage (a hole in the block). The dealer diagnosed code C1742, and recommended replacing the control unit due to a pressure sensor issue after measurement. There was an electrical fault in the door handle, specifically for the comfort access function circuit inside the handle itself. There was smoke and extreme heat. I have been a loyal Chevrolet owner and have always trusted the brand for its quality and dependability. However, this delay and lack of proactive support is causing significant inconvenience and eroding that trust. This situation is unacceptable for several reasons: 1.Safety Risk and Recall Obligation: Chevrolet acknowledged the defect by issuing a recall, yet I have been forced to operate a vehicle that does not meet your own safety standards for months. 2.Repeated Service Attempts with No Resolution: I followed the proper process and visited an authorized dealer multiple times, only to be turned away each time with no solution beyond “wait for parts.” 3.Breakdown and Financial Loss: The vehicle failure and subsequent towing expense are a direct consequence of Chevrolet’s inability to provide timely parts or alternative accommodations. I took my car 3 weeks ago (Aug 11th) sat for 4 hours waiting on my car only to be told that they were not able to fix it. that my entire onstar system needs to be replaced. they said they ordered it but that it was back ordered and do not know when it will be in. and to call in 2 weeks to see if there were any changes. i called 3 weeks later and still they had nothing new to tell me except that they don't know anything. from reading online i see that this onstar module issue had contributed to other issues with the car. i knew that there was an issue that triggered the battery to completely die. and with all the other people that have said they have had issues , it is very apparent that this caused my battery to die. Now i am still paying for onstar but not able to use it. i am obviously paying my payment on my car without being able to use all functions of the car. The contact stated that there was an audible chime sounding with the message "Service Brakes Soon" displayed. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the HCU needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that a year later, the HCU failed again; however, the dealer where the vehicle was taken for service stated that the part was unavailable. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.Read more

There is a known recall for this vehicle (Reference NHTSA Safety Recall 23V905) related to the engine oil pump drive belt tensioner arm. According to the recall notice, it says "Parts are now available to repair your vehicle" and "please have this recall performed as soon as possible". My local Ford Dealership has denied my request to have this recall serviced, and refused to schedule me a futur
... e appointment for this service, and also could not provide me any approximate date on when this service might be available to me. They said they would not perform this recall unless the part has already failed and the vehicle would therefore have to be towed in, which I have in an email communication from the dealership. This obviously is a direct contradiction of the statement issued in the recall notice, so I wanted to report this as a complaint.Read more

Driving along the highway in cruise control at about 70mph without any trailer being pulled. Suddenly I got brake errors. ABS, ESC, Trailer brake error failures all popped on the dash warnings. I see that similar issues have been reported on Facebook "Chevy Tahoe Owners Group". Unknown whether it's a sensors glitch or a SW issue. After a few hours of being parked the car brake system started to work properly again. Made an appointment to check out they system at the dealership.Read more

While driving the car flashes a BRAKE warning on the dash and then automatically begins emergency style braking attempting to bring the car to a STOP, but this happens while driving at highway speeds which is dangerous for rear approaching traffic. This has happened before and the dealership could not reproduce the action. This is the third time it has happened.
