Travel Assist is disabled which includes Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist. The warning lights flash on and off, sometimes multiple times a second, sounding a loud beeping each time. ... g. Warning lights and warning sounds are designed to alert the driver to a potential safety issue so ignoring the lights and sounds is dangerous in the event it is a different caution/warning. However, also not ignoring it is dangerous because of the frequency of the warnings which causes the driver to look away from the road. After speaking with the maintenance department at my VW dealership, they indicated that this is a widely known problem that is remedied only with the replacement of the steering wheel. There are several other sensors that are triggered by the same issue I was told by the maintenance department. They are uncertain at this time if it impacts the airbag system which is another potential safety concern. The steering wheel can only be ordered after inspection by the maintenance department and there is shortage and/or back order of the part to fix the problem.Read more

My 2020 Honda Ridgeline has an Auto Idle/Start system. The truck engine turns off when it stops, then automatically turns on when brake is released or gas pedal pressed. There was a Honda notice issued that the system may not automatically restart. A fix (software update) from Honda was implemented on my truck on 03/29/23. This "fix" did not work. ... tersection. The Auto Idle system automatically turned off the engine as intended. About 2 minutes later, when the brake was released and gas pedal pressed, the engine did not restart. The truck stalled. Various efforts (~ 1 minute of panic) ensued to start the engine. Eventually, put the truck in park, waited, then started the engine. This situation occurred during high traffic at a busy intersection. It caused other drivers to take risks pulling out in front of other cars to get around my stalled vehicle. It was a very dangerous situation. A class action lawsuit was filed against Honda about this. Honda claims their software update fixed the problem. ... ing “service breaks”. I immediately tap my brakes to check and they are stiff. I let off the gas as I was approaching the exit and begin pumping my brakes. They continue to be stiff. Luckily there was no one I front of me as this exit led to a rotary. I was able to coast around the rotary and into a parking lot where I attempted to push the E- break which did not work. My steering tightened and then my car died. I have the car towed to GMC where I bought the vehicle. Am told I will be charged a diagnostic fee and they will let me know what they find before repairs are made. I receive a call back the following day stating “the vacuum pump exploded causing you to loose brakes”. I was told “the vacuum pump and repairs would be about $1,200. BUT they could not guarantee that once the vacuum pump was removed, there wouldn’t be more debris and destruction to the cam shaft and engine”. We asked they continue with the diagnostics and check the engine for debris. We receive a call back stating “the vacuum pump exploded and there are shards of medal debris in your engine”. Recommendations are that I need a new engine as "the vacuum pump explosion caused catastrophic damage to the engine". My safety and the safety of other innocent drivers on the highway were put in extreme danger! I lost all break control, power steering, and emergency break control. I had minutes from the time the first warning alerted to the time I lost complete control of the car. This is a known issue with GM Motors specifically made between 2016-2019.Read more

While towing a camping trailer, the brakes for the trailer kept issuing a warning saying "connected" then "not connected - check trailer brake wiring". Then "trailer brake not connected". The vehicle was transported to Ron Marhofer Hyundai on the same day. The following day, the driver was met with a profound lack of respect and professionalism from the service advisor, Declan McCready. The driver and her mother were implicitly told they did not know what they were talking about and were treated with a profound lack of respect. The service advisor initially asserted there was no warranty coverage for the issue and that it would cost nearly $500.00 to fix. He also claimed his entire shop of mechanics looked at the car and found nothing was broken. However, the very next day, the dealership abruptly reversed their diagnosis and instructed the driver to get a rental car, stating they would now be fixing the vehicle under warranty. The repair order confirms the technician's findings: "verified concern steering column separated stopped bracket bent and separated replaced column housing operating normal". The vehicle had 14,479 miles at the time of the failure. There were no prior warnings or symptoms before the incident. I bought my car used when it had around 11,000 miles on it. It didn't take long (maybe a month) before I noticed that the fuel gauge indicator above the steering wheel was malfunctioning. The screen stays off for a period of time and sometimes flickers on with indistinguishable text. There are times that it works just fine, but it is becoming less and less common. He stated that several people had told him the same story and he said I would have to replace the entire gauge cluster to fix it. This is very unfortunate because I am someone who travels often and I can't be stuck in the middle of nowhere without gas because I was unable to determine how much I had. There should be another way to monitor how much gas you have. I can't see how much oil life I have left either, or the mileage on my car when the screen goes out. My car was at low mileage when I bought it, and it still only has around 30,000 miles on it so I do not understand why this issue is happening.Read more

An unfamiliar key fob activity was detected on July 27, 2025 and on at least two occasions prior to July 27, 2025, the touchscreen went black and could only be restored via a full hard reboot. Safety Risks: * Loss of touchscreen functionality could disable access to critical driving and emergency controls. * Potential unauthorized access poses risks of theft or malicious interference with the vehicle. * Chemical/gas odors could indicate exposure to harmful substances. Tesla service center inspected the vehicle but reported no issues; I believe the inspection may not have been fully conducted as requested. The vehicle has not been independently inspected outside of Tesla. Police and insurance representatives have not been involved. Warning Signs Prior to Failure: * The touchscreen went black twice in the two days prior to July 27, 2025. * Unfamiliar key fob activity was detected on July 27, 2025. * The charger port opened by itself multiple times. * The vehicle locked while I was inside on one occasion. Attempts to Resolve: * Tesla’s mobile service rescheduling and service center inspection did not identify or resolve the issues. * Five privacy/data requests submitted to Tesla for access and diagnostic logs returned incomplete, empty, or irrelevant files. This has been happening so often that I have began to put the car in park while waiting for lights to turn green because it gets painful having to push the brake so far down. I take my car to a mechanic, explain all of the noises and the sensations and two mechanics Drive it but say it feels fine and there are no recalls. They say my front brake pads are low and that must be what I’m feeling. After replacing the brake pads nothing had changed. Now there is also a squeak while moving at a slow speed in stop and go traffic. 1 week later i bring it up while getting an oil change and ask if they know what it could be. They said brakes seemed fine. A couple weeks go by and yesterday while I was driving down the highway in heavy school traffic out of nowhere my car makes a clunk noise and all of these lights pop up on the dash. I roll the windows down and scream for my children to hold on because something was wrong. Luckily we were able to get to safety but I definitely had reduced breaking capabilities. I immediately take the car in and and find out my brake booster and accumulator has failed. service tech brings up the consumer program but my car is a 2013 and it is not eligible to be repaired bc it’s 10+ yrs. Even though Toyota admits to internal malfunctions of the Brake Booster Assembly, and my car is only at 76,000 mi it’s not being fixed. This is negligence on Toyotas part. I remove the key and the engine is still running and won't turn off. I had to remove the ASD relay which was very hot. Once I was able to shut down ,now the dashboard shows the car in reverse but it is actually in park and won't come out

If my daughter had been inside during warm weather, she could have been trapped in a rapidly heating vehicle with no way to escape. This posed a life-threatening risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet. The problem occurred once unexpectedly, but I intend to raise it with my Chevrolet dealer for confirmation. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Not yet. The incident was resolved without emergency services, but I am reporting it immediately to GM and NHTSA for investigation. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lamps, chimes, or alerts. Last time I changed my oil I had bronze colored flakes of metal in my oil. It looked like parts of the main connecting rod bearing material. No running problems YET, but will likely fail soon. I've kept up on oil changes every 5-7K. 89K on vehicle. Please do something about a full recall on this issue and include this report into the affected VINs.

The failure was progressively worsening. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and the fuel pump, AX Sender, and pump assembly, AA gasket, B sensor, and fuel injector pressure parts were replaced. The contact stated that several months ago, on a separate occasion, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart, and the contact waited for approximately an hour before the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was taken to several dealers to be repaired. While an employee from one of the dealers was test-driving the vehicle, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that there were fuel vapors in the line, and that the high side sensor pressure dropped, and low side sensor pressure dropped. The vehicle was repaired. Most recently, the contact stated that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. All ABS, Brakes light on, code 139. Its been making a buzzing noise for a couple of years, the noise got shorter over time, and finally was coming on every 5 second, and finally the dash brake lights came on. I've cleared a couple of times, but the lights come back on after a few miles. The brake pedal has to be pushed down hard to stop. The problem is the brake part is $1500, and 1500 to install.

University Kia confirmed the catastrophic engine failure, likely related to the 3.3L Lambda engine's known oil pressure switch (OPS) defects, as the OPS had been previously replaced under warranty. While driving on the interstate we were exiting to pull into a rest area while slowing down the rear wheels momentarily locked up and the truck downshifted hard and abruptly with that happening the check engine light came on along with a decreased power message. We pulled into a parking spot during so we tried to shift into reverse and it didn’t want to shift into reverse, we tried this for a wh
... ile. We finally got it into reverse and we were able to back out of the parking spot. When we tried shifting to drive we encountered the same issue. The vehicle did not want to go into drive. Once finally into drive it did not want to shift into any higher gears. It was essentially stuck in one of the gears. We made it to a GMC dealer on the next exit -we drove on the side of the interstate to get there- when we arrived we had them run the codes and they told us it was a transmission control valve which GMC has had a major recall on. While we had this “fixed” at a different dealership previously in march of 2025 it only entailed “updating the software” involving the transmission control valve. We had to leave the truck at the GMC dealer that we were able to ‘limp’ to in Crestview FL. We’ve been told our truck now needs an entirely new transmission that is going to cost $7,000. We had a similar issue right after the “software update for the transmission control valve” on march 20, 2025. The software was updated roughly a week before that incident which seemed to have cleared itself because it was momentarily and never happened again until now. Our safety was at risk because we had to drive on the side of the interstate to get to a shop because we were out of town and a tow truck was going to cost between 600-1000 dollars to get home.Read more

horn has stopped working. Seems to be a systemic issue when looking online in Forums etc... I have scheduled the problem to be fixed and it is not a fuse issue. There are many thousands of Ford Escape owners with this same issue. The shifter knob will not shift out of park in hot weather, sometimes taking 20 to 30 minutes for the vehicle's interior to cool sufficiently to shift into drive. Ford is ignoring this problem.
