My 2019 Lincoln MKZ check engine light came on. The repair shop said coolant was leaking into #3 cylinder from cracks in the engine block. Per alerts the shop receives from Ford, this is a known issue and there is no way to repair this issue. The engine will need to be replaced. My powertrain warranty ended 4 month earlier. When I crank it, I have to hold the key fob on the ignition button and press 3 or more times before it cranks. Switch batteries in the key fob and still no different. I paid a lot of money for this van after never having one issue out of my 2014 Odyssey. The 2020 has been nothing but a nightmare since a month after I purchased it. Received vehicle at roughly 181,000 miles. Operated fine for about 5,000 miles and then began to show problems. In most cases when pressing down hard on the accelerator pedal, transmission drops into a lower gear and revs up to 5k rpm, cancelling cruise control, and staying there until accelerator is relieved. This makes accelerating more difficult since too much pressure on the accelerator pedal

This makes passing cars more dangerous as the car gets stuck at 5k rpm and can't pass the other vehicle, increasing the risk of a head on collision. Service engine and ABS lights are on as well as a service Stabilitrak notification in the driver information center. In addition, the outside temperature thermometer is faulty and shows much lower temperatures, such as -14 degrees during an 80 degree day. Vehicle is up to maintenance as far as my knowledge goes. Car has been previously junked twice and has a rebuilt title. There are no fluid leaks, the engine works well when the problem is not encountered, but it gets stuck at 5k rpm under hard acceleration more than it doesn't.Read more

BMW released on oct 2022 a BMW Service Information Bulletin detailing a defect in the paint and sealant of the roof-mounted antenna housing, which can allow water to leak into the vehicle and damage electrical components, including the emergency call system and GPS. Vehicles produced before January 10, 2022, are affected. The bulletin provides instructions for dealers to inspect for water ingress, remove the affected antenna housing, inspect the paint for separation on the sealing surface, and replace the housing if the paint is separating. Even when this production deffect main consequence is the damage of the Telematics Control Unit (tcu) due to physical closeness and consequently failure of the vehicle’s emergency call system and other communication systems and gps. The bulletin only focus on replace of antenna and painting of area (approx cost $700) and doesnt mention any alternatives for solution to damaged TCU (approx cost $3000) and on top the solution mentioned is even more restricted to Coverage under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty for Passenger Cars and Light Trucks. On July 31st, while backing up on a clear road in rain the brakes locked suddenly. The brakes applied & a message saying Emergency Parking brake engaged. Must be manually released. This happened twice in a 30 second period before there was enough room for me to pull forward out of the spot. I called the dealership on August 1st to see if this was a known issue and they said no. ... in on August 2nd. They scanned for errors & found a message Lost Communication with Parking Assist Control Module with 9 other error message. They said this was not a known problem and to them it appeared to fix itself but would let me know if there was any way to fix. Car has just been in for regular multi point inspection on July 24th. On August 20th went to get in the car but none of the key fobs would open it. Called two dealerships but neither could come up with answer. Chevy Roadside was called & came to get into the car and ended up jumping it. At that time the battery was tested and it appeared fine. It was recommended to run it for a half hour. I ended up driving it for an hour with no extras on. On August 25th the next day I went to drive it the battery of this 1 year old car was dead. Called the two dealerships to see what could be done & was told to bring it in. Called Chevy Roadside Assistance who dispatched someone to open the car and jump the battery. This person found the battery was not holding a charge & said nothing when I said I was driving it to the dealership. Got 3 houses away & a message that the Brakes have failed. Press hard to brake popped up. In addition the steering locked up. I missed hitting a lady with a kid in a stroller by 6 ft but managed to get it to the curve & with 3 pushes into park. It was towed to the dealership. When it arrived at the dealership the brakes locked up so it would not back up off the flatbed. It had to be forced off. Dealer blames poor battery but can't explain July 31st or why battery readouts say okay.Read more

... hip Fort Collins, Colorado. They said it was the oil sensor malfunction and replaced that part and it ran ok after. Fast foward a month later driving down interstate on Labor Day weekend and the car did the same thing again had to get it towed again to A Nissan dealership in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Same codes popped up for. P0012 camshaft timing and P0196 engine oil temp sensor. The dealership informed me that first they changed the oil sensor and then if it comes back, they would change the water control valve continuing from the bulletin. They said this should fix it. However, now I’m nervous to drive on the highways thinking I’m gonna get stranded again. This is a concern of mine could’ve been in a car accident with so many cars zooming by and going to live mode.Read more

I was slowing down when coming upon another vehicle. When I accelerated there was no power and I realized the engine had stalled. I was in the outer lane of 3 lanes of heavy traffic and was able to coast into a parking lot and stop. ... e engine and transmission serviced immediately. The engine would not start. I called my dealership and told them what happened. They gave me a phone number for a tow service who towed the truck to their dealership garage. I had no prior messages or symptoms that the engine was going to fail. The dealership removed the faulty fuel pump module and replaced the fuel pump control module. I feel very fortunate that my wife and I were at a place where we could exit the highway and get help quickly.Read more

Truck was intermittently losing power steering and shutting off/reseting itself. Was a loss of electrical and was throwing Stabilitrak Service warning. Would not stay on due to truck resetting itself but loss of power happened typically when I was in parking lot or driveway. Could have easily been on the highway which could have been deadly.
