After 10 minutes it started back up and I barely made it into a parking lot of a shopping center with it shutting off again before I can park. I had to get a tow. I didnt go to an authorized dealer. I took it to a certified mechanic and had to replace the brake vacuum booster. The motor had to be cleaned out due to broken metal that got inside. After that repair car seemed okay until March 2026. The car now is in high idle and struggles to pick up speed. The message on DIC says engine power reduced. On the freeway the car can be going with the flow of traffic then suddenly engine power is reduce rpms go up high and it drops speed struggling to pick up. I purchased my truck from Karl Chevrolet in Ankeny, IA around September of 2019. Approximately 1.5 years after purchasing the vehicle, I began having issues with my infotainment system intermittently resetting itself while I was driving. ... of an occurrence. The technician told me that this thing happens all the time with the infotainment systems and it was nothing to be concerned about and because it was intermittent, they may not be able to identify the issue unless it was actively occurring and I was told to come back in if it continued to happen. Shortly after, I had moved to [XXX] in April of 2022, I began to have more frequent issues with the infotainment system randomly resetting and eventually it began impacting phone calls, where people would cut in and out or disconnect, beginning to cause even more of a safety and distraction issue. After conducting some of my own research, I learned that I was not the only one that had issues with the infotainment system in the 2019 Colorado and that GM had published several Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) regarding the infotainment system, and there had been a class action lawsuit, [XXX] , et al. v. General Motors LLC, that covers the same issues I am having. On January 29, 2025, after the issue progressively getting worse, I took the truck to Gregg Young Chevrolet in Omaha, NE. After conducting a diagnosis they verbally confirmed there were TSBs regarding radio issues that after contacting the GM service center, GM's response was to replace the radio. This was to be at my own cost however, considering GM confirmed through TSBs there are issues with the infotainment system, coupled with safety concerns around distracted driving, I felt compelled to make this complaint. We experienced power steering failure. Our steering wheel control was taken over while backing out of our driveway and while driving on a highway. When this happens, you can’t turn the wheel. We hav

We have been out of a car for weeks because the steering rack part is impossible to get and is in very high demand which leads us to believe we are not the only ones experiencing this. Again I stress, this was very scary for our family and it really puts people at risk. It is a new car and we should not have experienced this.Read more

On 05/01/26 while driving on New York State Thruway route 90 east, my check engine light came on. Almost simultaneously the vehicle began to lose speed and I could not accelerate. As I pulled over I could hear a loud clunky noise. The vehicle would not start and was dead on the side of the thruway. Eventually the vehicle was towed to the dealership I purchased it from where they told me "there is
... a loose part in the engine and the engine needs to be replaced". Sudden power loss of the vehicle represents a safety risk especially traveling at 65mph. To my knowledge the vehicle has been inspected by only the dealership. On 3/17/26 I alerted the dealership I purchased the vehicle from that I heard a ticking in the engine once in a while when I auto started the vehicle. I was told I would receive a call from servicing but never did.Read more

The vehicle may also have recently received a software update, although it is unknown whether that is related to the incident. The failure appears to involve the brake system and the driver safety assistance systems equipped on the vehicle like forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, and Dynamic Brake Support systems. The exact failed component is currently unknown and remains under inspection by a Chevrolet dealership. No warning lights, messages, or audible alerts appeared before, during, or after the incident. The automatic braking/collision avoidance system also did not activate. Because the vehicle had no braking capability at the time of the incident, the occupants and nearby pedestrians were placed at risk of serious injury. On May 10, 2026, the vehicle was taken to a Chevrolet dealership for inspection. The dealership has been unable to reproduce the issue, and no mechanical defects or diagnostic trouble codes related to the incident were identified. On May 13, 2026, the issue was escalated to the GM Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for further review, and the vehicle remains at the dealership awaiting a response to the TAC case. The dealership acknowledges similar brake-loss concerns referenced in GM service bulletins involving the 2025 Chevy Equinox and other models, including bulletin N24471431, although they stated the bulletin does not apply to this specific VIN.Read more

My husband was driving our 2018 Chevy Suburban when it suddenly stopped accelerating and he could no longer shift gears. Luckily, this happened while he was driving down a gravel road (approx 25-30mph). If he would have been driving at highway speeds, it is likely that he could have lost control of the vehicle. Our Suburban had no issues to this point and had always run well. We take it in for r
... outine maintenance. We had it towed to a local repair shop, and they informed us that something had happened with the transmission and that it would need to be replaced. I have found several GM transmission recalls and our situation sounds similar to reference N252536750. Again we had no warning signs and had been experiencing no issues with our vehicle. If this had been something that we had been noticing problems and hadn't gotten it looked at, I can understand that maybe this had been something on going for a while that we had just missed maintenance on. However, for the transmission to stop so suddenly, I believe there must be some sort of larger failure in the transmission system.Read more

I was also informed that the dealership could not properly perform the alignment on the dually truck. This vehicle was sold new and should not have these defects. I am filing this complaint due to concerns about vehicle safety, defective components, and inability to obtain proper warranty repairs.Read more

My rearview camera froze while I was reversing. Also when I put the vehicle into drive, the screen stayed on the backup camera after it eventually unfroze, showing the road behind me, it was very distracting. I have no photos or videos available because I was driving no warning lamps were visible, no auditory signals were present

Components that failed: Telematics module causing parasitic battery drain, DC/DC converter module, radio, and two complete battery failures. Turn signal was
... also triggering the high beams to flash, a separate electrical issue repaired under warranty. All components are available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: First battery failure occurred in January at 10,000 miles while traveling in the desert with my wife and infant son. We were stranded with no Chevrolet dealer accessible. Second battery failure occurred at 16,500 miles. A failed DC/DC converter module was discovered immediately after the latest round of repairs when the dashboard lit up with multiple warning lights and a check engine light the same day I picked up the vehicle. I drive this truck daily for work and transport my young child in it regularly. Repeated unexpected failures create a serious and ongoing safety risk. Confirmed by dealer: Yes. George Chevrolet confirmed and attempted repairs on the telematics module, DC/DC converter module, and radio. All failures documented on official repair orders. Warning lamps: Yes. Multiple warning lights and check engine light appeared immediately upon pickup after the most recent repairs. Manufacturer response: General Motors denied my repurchase request despite multiple confirmed warranty failures and has not offered a replacement vehicle. The vehicle experienced multiple instances of sudden engine stall and loss of motive power while navigating active downtown intersections and airport terminal lanes in Atlanta, GA. These failures occurred without warning, leaving the vehicle immobilized in high-traffic areas, including a turn in a multi-lane roadway. This defect creates an unreasonable risk of a rear-end collision or being strande
... d in hazardous traffic conditions. Incident Chronology: Initial Failure: In February 2026, the vehicle stalled in an intersection. After a manual reset of the Check Engine Light (CEL), the vehicle stalled again during a turn. Diagnostic codes P228C (Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Exceeded Control Limits) and P0089 (Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Performance) were present. First Attempted Repair: The dealership performed a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB)/recall procedure to calibrate the fuel pump and pressure sensors. Recurrence: Immediately upon retrieval, the vehicle stalled again in a "no parking" zone at a major airport after 45 minutes of operation. The vehicle would not restart or maintain idle, necessitating a second tow. Final Repair: The dealership replaced the fuel pump assembly. Additional Safety Concerns: Approximately 4,000 miles prior to the fuel pump failure, the vehicle experienced multiple "Reduced Engine Power" events and "Service ESC" flashes while traveling at highway speeds (approx. 70 mph) in rainy conditions. The dealership replaced all fuel injectors and spark plugs at that time. Manufacturer Response: Despite the "Engine" designation of the diagnostic codes, GM initially claimed the fuel pump was not covered under the powertrain warranty. While partial assistance was provided for repairs, the recurring nature of these stalls suggests a significant reliability issue with the high-pressure fuel system components and engine.Read more
