I previously had recall 17V-821 work completed. This recall was for The Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) locking pin may become stuck in the open position. I have the same issue now and see that NHTSA is investigating failed recall fixes. I have taken this to the dealer and an independent shop and am now trying to figure out how to get this repaired.

The push type turn signals for the model 3 almost caused when accident when I had to enter and exit a roundabout. The orientation wasn’t clear and I was trying to signal to not exit instead - another car misunderstood my intent. this miscommunication lead to a close call. Initially, the component that was failing was the rear wiper blade. The wiper blade would not perform a proper rotation. ... f patience.I slammed the brake which triggered an insurance ding (Telsa rate is increased) for hitting the brake. The the next day the car was poised to turn left. There were 2 lanes of opposition traffic and 1 lane for my direction. Luckily traffic was low, because it turned into the lane for incoming traffic and I was able to steer the car into the right lane, in between some traffic cones. After that event, which really shook me up, I stopped using it, even though it had been nice to have the car do the driving. Incidents like that are just too scary and dangerous. And it is an insult that Tesla penalizes me for driving safely - like hitting my brake as a caution, if I see a person who might bolt out in front of me - or does. Braking is discouraged. Also , dot penalized when I pulled down my sun visor when I turned into blinding sunlight. The car alarms blasted and the screen filled with 'caution' triangles. When I started with the FSD, I had to find controls because it sped 40 in a 30 zone and followed too closely to the car in front of me. I'm a senior and I use a lot of caution driving, in anticipation of other drivers doing bad things. It seemed like FSD encouraged agresive driving. After an over-the-air update of the Uconnect system on 10/10/25 the vehicle repeatedly lost propulsion. In each instance I abruptly had absolutely no acceleration, the gear indicator on the dash started flashing, the power mode indicator (electric/hybrid/esave) disappeared, an alert said shift into park and press the brake + start button, and the check engine light and red wrench lights came on.

After putting it into park and pressing the brake and start button it started back up and I could drive it normally for a little bit, but it happened two more times on a 1.5 mi drive. Pursuant to a class action settlement the engine was replaced. I'm writing to let others know that this is a potentially life-threatening danger and that the knock sensor recall does not adequately address this. Also, the dealer mischaracterized the symptoms on the engine warranty invoice, misstating the narrative above, wrongly stating "customer states CEL started flashing when driving after light appeared vehicle would not accelerate properly or start." When closing the lift gate, the pistons did not compress and the glass shattered while still holding the lift gate. This resulted in cuts to two fingers on the left hand, ring and middle, cut across the knuckles with bleeding. Support struts are remove and are available for inspection. Not reported to dealer or police. Insurance notified, for replacement glass.

Examples include an incorrect "new brake pads detected" prompt and a "taking your eyes off the road" warning that does not apply to this vehicle. These phantom messages are distracting and can cause driver confusion. •Persistent Connectivity Failures: The vehicle experiences frequent and consistent failures with its Wi-Fi and GPS systems, indicating a potential electrical or software malfunction. Numerous resets attempted by the manufacturer's technical support have not resolved the issue. • Computer Display Anomaly: the Chevrolet symbol appeared in red on the computer screen when the truck was started. The vehicle has repeatedly experienced spontaneous changes to the radio station and the air conditioning switching from cold to hot without driver input. •Unusual Decompressing Sound: When the vehicle has been sitting for an extended period, an unusual decompressing sound can be heard coming from the rear underside whenever a door is opened. I went online to check the whole situation out and found out that FORD is very aware of this design problem. It’s the same problem that they’ve been aware of for years. It’s a design flaw in this model car. They are no longer making it. This is the reason why. They are telling me it’s gonna cost anything from $7100-$8500. This caused a tractor trailer swerving into on coming traffic, if he didn’t my toddler and I would have been killed. The dealer informed me that the whole assembly needs to be replaced, which is what all of the posts online stated as well. the cost to replace the assembly if $5,000 ($4,500 part, plus labor). I'd estimate the vehicle is worth $40,000, so one headlight costs more than 10% of the vehicle value (?!?). The dealer seemed to agree with me and checked with Porsche, who acknowledged the problem but said there has not been a recall. A headlight is integral to the safe operation of the vehicle, and the car had no sensor to inform me it was out, and I only found out by a friend telling me. At this stage the vehicle would not pass a safety inspection.Read more

The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 22V648000(Visibility, Electrical System), 25V236000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic), and 25V572000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed
... to respond as intended. The contact stated that upon releasing and depressing the brake pedal once again, the vehicle responded as intended. It was unknown whether a warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated that the auxiliary plug had failed to function as intended, and there was no electrical charge upon plugging in a phone charger or USB cord. Additionally, the contact stated that the rearview camera image was distorted while the vehicle was in reverse(R), which prevented the driver from safely operating the vehicle. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.Read more
