While driving on the highway, the brakes on my rental truck began to feel mushy, and the pedal eventually went all the way to the floor. I was unable to stop and had to use the emergency brake to avoid a collision. The truck was rented from Budget Truck Rental (Serrato Enterprises Inc., 7680 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238). Upon inspection, I discovered brake fluid leaking from the left rear
... tire and an empty master cylinder reservoir under the hood. I made my first call to Budget Customer Service at 2:00 PM but was not towed to Abilene until 1:00 AM—leaving my family stranded for nearly two days. The next day, the repair mechanic from Rocky Mountain Truck inspected the braking system and told me this vehicle should never have been on the road due to the severe deterioration of the brake rotor and pads on both sides of the truck (photo attached). He provided me with the damaged rotor and brake pad as physical evidence of neglect and told me the vehicle would not pass any sort of inspection, also warning me to never rent from Budget again if this is how they give customers vehicles. Inside the cab, there is a maintenance log showing no service for over 20,000 miles beyond the last recorded entry at 99,000 miles, even though previous maintenance had been logged every 4,000 miles. This clearly shows a failure in standard maintenance and safety practices. The fact that my wife’s and my safety was jeopardized—and that Budget’s customer service treated this with such disregard—is unacceptable. It is alarming that only a catastrophic accident could have brought attention to such negligence in vehicle maintenance and safety oversight. I am going to these lengths due to the fact that Budget values milking a few extra miles out of a vehicle's lifespan rather than addressing the most common wear-and-tear items on a vehicle. I'm reaching out because of Budget’s failure to acknowledge the importance of vehicle safety. On 10/9/25 said vehicle was brought to Central Florida Toyota (CFT) for the investigation of water intrusion into the rear passenger compartment. The cause of water intrusion was due to a defective duct (vent) assy (PN: 62930-04040. There are 2 vents located at the rear of the passenger cab.). The cost for the repair was estimated to be $15,153.39. This exorbitant fee includes the replacement of t
... he entire carpeting system and the need to remove the vehicle bed to access the vents. Based on a musty smell CFT assumed that the carpet had been damaged by molds. Subsequently, CFT was requested to have the 2 vents replaced, only, and not the carpeting. In return, CFT stipulated that I must sign a health hazard waiver due the assumed (no evidence) moldy condition. Now, not only can 2 simple mechanical vents cause such an exorbitant fee to repair it has now evolved into a potential health safety issue. Yet, Toyota has failed to provide any caution/warning to the effect of water intrusion into the rear of the passenger area. No caution/warning in owner's manual that vehicle owner must periodically inspect the rear passenger for water, no warning tags/labels inside vehicle. On the other, my Toyota OEM floor mats have all sorts caution/warning plus installation instruction. It is recommended, as a minimum, Toyota must issue a recall to confirm the integrity of all vents in circulation. On my vehicle, the defective vent was due to bad seal which implies poor manufacturing. Secondly, the location of the vents is simply poor engineering. Even, if there's no damage to the carpeting the cost to replace the 2 vents would be $2,500 due to the need to vehicle bed removed.Read more

Back-up camera goes in and out intermittently, sometimes the image is very faint and then totally disappears into a black screen, or says it is not available at this time, then goes black. This started about 4 months ago and I have not been able to identify a triggering factor, rain nor heat does not appear to be the factor that causes it. My car was purchased 2018 with 13 miles and I now have on
... ly 21,897 miles never been in an accident or anything to cause this issue. The dealer said my vehicle is not under the recall guidelines although it completely mimics the recalled issues listed under NHTSA#23S48/25V273 also the dealer says the issue has to be present for the mechanic to see. When I took it to the dealer today 10/14/2025 the camera was functioning and I have no idea when it will go back out again to show them. This can definitely become a safety issue and a cost I should not have to be responsible for because there is an indication this could be a production issue. Please assist me with this issue.Read more

Meanwhile, our insurance company determined the fire originated from the gas vent system. The power sliding door assembly failed, and the driver side rear sliding door was bound shut, and could not be opened. Disabling the power door system did not resolve the issue. The cable for the power door mechanism was hanging below the rear vent windows; but for some reason the door still would not open. I ultimately with a lot of gentle force was able to get the door open enough to see the
... retract side of the cable was bound up, and was able to cut it with wire cutters, and ultimately get the door to work normally as a non-powered manual sliding door. Since the original NHTSA BULLITIN on this was published in 6/2019 before my 2020 Sienna was manufactured, and Toyota did not change the mechanism until the 2021 model redesign, I believe that RECALL should be extend to all 2019 and 2020 vehicles. My truck for several months now has been having an issue with power steering, gets a service vision system where at time I get no back up camera and a server trailer brake system. While doing research I've found dozens of posts and videos of issues with 2 ground straps on the vehicle thaylt have affected all 3 or these issues I am dealing with. The ground straps are under the truck near the right
... wheel well and are basically out in the open not protected wires. I live up north in New York and these wires will corroded overtime especially dealing with salt, snow etc. It is a known issue that a TSB has been put out. I called GM to speak with them of this issue and was told that I haven't bring it to a dealership to look at where I would have to pay a diagnostic fee. I would also possibly be responsible for the repair itself. This issie with the ground straps should be a safety recall especially due to the fact it affects power steering. This has caused my vehicle to at times be unsafe to drive when hard to turn. Thos can cause a serious accidents. The fix is so easy and is a huge engineering flaw with where these wires were placed and not protected. Im asking you to put out a recall so individuals like me can get this issie fixed with no costs to the customer. Not fair for us to foot the bill for a known SAFETY issue. This issue happens everyday. Not sure of exact start date that this is making me choose.Read more

I would be driving and get a notification in the panel that says power steering is out and to drive with care. It is extremely difficult to drive my vehicle, with no power steering. I would just be driving, and I would get the notification that power steering is out. The problem has been recently confirmed by a dealership. The mechanic at the dealership confirmed it was the same issue reported

I was sitting at a red light, and the notification came on and said I didn't have power steering. The second time I was driving down the interstate at 70mph and it went out, not good. I was able to get it safely back to my sister's home and did not move it again until I took it straight to the dealership today, in which time it went out again. All this with 4085 total miles on my car at this time. I believe this should be covered under the same recall as the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette. Battery conditioning (heating) is required for fast charging at cold temperatures. The current method of enabling this function takes many steps including going into the EV setting to enable this option (since it automatically turns off when changing some settings in the Hyundai Bluelink App), then opening the navigation screen, looking at a map and scrolling though a long list of charging sites,
... picking the desired charger then starting the navigation and route to that site. This has to be to done while in route to a specific charger, normally this would be on the freeway 20-40 minutes before arrival at a fast charging station. It is a distraction while driving and is an issue with all Ioniq 5's sold from 2022-2024. Hyundai fixed this problem for the 2025 model year but have not do so on the previous cars at this time. Hyundai needs to add this 1 touch preconditioning option for safety and driver ease of use. I feel it should required on all EVs that offer battery conditioning. I have told them about this several times and not gotten a response and according to posts in various online communities many other have also reported this issue to Hyundai but they have taken no action.Read more

I have driven the vehicle 13,000 miles without incident. However, twice this week, once moving forward and once backward, the emergency parking brake engaged without warning, bringing the vehicle to an abrupt stop. In both cases it was daylight, clear weather, with no visual indication of an obstacle in the vehicle's path. In response I have turned off its automatic braking/collision avoidance fea
... tures and will see if that solves the problem. What is concerning, however, is that this did not occur for 13,000 miles, and then abruptly started.Read more

I am writing to provide an update on an existing recall, 25V282, for the rear-view camera image failing to display during the start of each reversing event. This issue was meant to be resolved via a software update, which my car received and installed. However, this did not solve the issue. I still receive the "Camera Temporarily Unavailable" message regularly when shifting my car into reverse, an

There is a recall with NHTSA Recall # 25V-302 with no known fix. This recall, which is a problem with the curtain air bags is a major safety issue. From the recall information: "Curtain airbags which do not have proper pressure retention may reduce occupant protection and increase the risk of partial and complete ejection and injury of an occupant through a side window during certain types of cra

They escalated my case to a case manager, who has not responded to my emails nor my phone calls since September 30th, 2025. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer in August, and the only issue with the car was the recall.Read more

Was traveling at 5mph in traffic. Pressed the brake to stop, and my car kept rolling. I pressed the foot pedal brake many many times without stopping. I pulled the emergency brake and I still didn’t stop. I came to rest on the back bumper of a semi truck in front of me.

On 10/13 after refuling my 2023 Chevy Corvette. I was cruising on a freeway when the car started showing signs of staying in 5th gear. The rev limiter was going from 500 to 2500 rpm rhythmically at a cruising speed of 65mph. At this time, I noticed the loss of response from the gas pedal. The car was then placed in manual shifting mode so that i can attempt to regain population control and maintai
... n the flow of traffic as this was a high crash area. Unfortunately, this attempt did not work and the dash cluster illuminated with the following alerts "rear axil system offline" "idle creep disabled," "service transmission" at this time. The gear indicator on the dash that shows the mode and gear, for example: D3 (drive 3rd gear), completely disappeared and the gas pedal completely went unresponsive. At this point i used the momentum of the car in motion to exit off of the freeway into a parking center. The vehicle proceeded to not respond in regards to going into park, reverse, or drive. The only thing that worked was the electronic parking brake. This was a very scary situation that, without my federal law enforcement driving training I may not have coasted safely out of traffic.Read more
