The EV doe not use braking as frequently and this was taken from the Chevy forum: ISSUE: Frozen or Seized Calipers The Issue: Because Bolt drivers heavily rely on regenerative braking, the physical brake pads and calipers are used far less frequently than in gas-powered cars. This can cause rust and debris to build up, leading to frozen calipers, uneven pad wear, or a sticking/grabbing brakes. The Fix: Have a trusted mechanic or a dealer regularly inspect and service the friction brakes. Regular preventive maintenance like flushing the brake fluid every few years is highly recommended to prevent moisture accumulation and seized calipers. The resultant failure is a safety issue and Chevy has decided to call it a PM problem. This is not acceptable and is all over the forums as an issue for these cars. I saved all parts and had them record everything on the car, except for the fluid. There are other recalls for this component. I would like it investigated and determination made on the issue. Those issues have put my children's and my safety at risk because the powertrain caused my Equinox to shut off in the middle of the highway going uphill and other times as I was driving with my kids. All of those need to be fixed by the manufacturer or totaled and I get reimbursed for it. Can provide receipts of repairs & quotes to repair upon request via email.Read more

I am writing regarding an ongoing and serious issue with my 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST 2.7L that continues to occur despite multiple visits to the dealership. At that point, the truck became undriveable. Although I was able to shift gears, the vehicle would not move properly in either Drive or Reverse. Due to the severity of the issue, I turned the truck off and left it parked overnight. The following day, all warning lights and messages had disappeared completely. This situation is extremely concerning because the vehicle appears to fail randomly without warning. I no longer feel safe driving the truck, especially with my children in the vehicle, because I fear it could stop functioning again at any time and potentially create a dangerous situation. I have already taken the truck to the dealership multiple times regarding this issue. However, I have repeatedly been told that they cannot properly diagnose or repair the problem unless the warning lights are actively present at the time of inspection. Since the issue is intermittent, this has made it very difficult to get the truck repaired, even though the problem clearly continues to occur. I am requesting that this matter be taken seriously and investigated further, and because this is a new truck that barely has 7,833 miles on it.as this appears to involve critical safety systems including braking, traction control, steering, and vehicle drivability. I depend on this truck daily and need a permanent resolution to this problem as soon as possible.Read more

I am writing regarding an ongoing and serious issue with my 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST 2.7L that continues to occur despite multiple visits to the dealership. ... gs included the Check Engine Light, ABS warning, Brake System Failure, Service Steering Column Lock, Service Traction Control, Service ESC, Service Brake Pad Monitor, and Trailer Brake Disabled warnings. At that point, the truck became undriveable. Although I was able to shift gears, the vehicle would not move properly in either Drive or Reverse. Due to the severity of the issue, I turned the truck off and left it parked overnight. The following day, all warning lights and messages had disappeared completely. This situation is extremely concerning because the vehicle appears to fail randomly without warning. I no longer feel safe driving the truck, especially with my children in the vehicle, because I fear it could stop functioning again at any time and potentially create a dangerous situation. I have already taken the truck to the dealership multiple times regarding this issue. However, I have repeatedly been told that they cannot properly diagnose or repair the problem unless the warning lights are actively present at the time of inspection. Since the issue is intermittent, this has made it very difficult to get the truck repaired, even though the problem clearly continues to occur. I am requesting that this matter be taken seriously and investigated further, and because this is a new truck that barely has 7,833 miles on it.as this appears to involve critical safety systems including braking, traction control, steering, and vehicle drivability. I took my vehicle in several times for issues regarding the brakes. I was told for months nothing was wrong. The brake percentage was rapidly declining on the display and they just kept saying it would fix itself in an update. Vehicle had died before and was brought to dealer but was restartrd, no problem could be found. Two weeks later, engine locked up on a 70mph highway. With children and wife in vehicle. Could not restart. Had to be towed to dealer. No previous lights or warnings before engine locking up.
