While driving our 2025 Chevrolet Traverse with 9450 miles at 45 MPH, it suddenly came to a complete stop and would not advance. Eventually after restarting the vehicle it would drive again, but the ABS, collision avoidance, traction control, and emergency braking was disabled. We learned that the "master brake cylinder" failed. This requires a repair and the parts are backordered. Furthermore
... we learned this is a known common issue and there is a service warning for the 2024 Traverse and there is now a class action lawsuit. It apparently is also common on the 2025 traverse. This is a potentially dangerous situation that apparently is common and should prompt an immediate recall and replacement with a new and redesigned part. There are numerous reports of similar incidents and per the dealer this is a common repair.Read more

Failed components 1. oil pump $8769.41 2. Cylinder Head Assembly- Valve Cover $4280.83 3. center console control panel $3051.93 4. transfer case replacement TBD 2019 BMW X5 xDrive40i has multiple major component failures at 70,000 miles. Oil pump failed causing loss of oil-level monitoring. The cylinder head assembly was diagnosed with oil consumption, the transfer case exhibited driveline shudder
... ing, and the center console control panel developed internal electrical faults that affect vital vehicle components. All have been diagnosed by BMW of North Haven, CT. The oil pump and transfer case failures have created potential loss of engine lubrication and vehicle control putting my safety at risk. The oil-level test aborts at 16% making it impossible to verify oil quantity or pressure while driving. The shuddering occurs during low-speed turns and acceleration. BMW North America reviewed my case and approved goodwill coverage for transfer-case fluid change ALL other safety-related repairs have been denied. I own a 2016 Hyundai Elantra, and the engine makes a noticeable knocking or “tapping” noise when started cold. The sound resembles piston slap and usually lessens as the engine warms up, but it’s been gradually getting louder over time. It’s most noticeable for the first few minutes after startup, especially in cooler weather. I’m concerned this may indicate premature piston or cylinder
... wear. I’ve found many other 2016 Elantra owners reporting the same problem online, suggesting it may be a design or manufacturing issue. The vehicle has been properly maintained with the correct oil grade and regular service, so this shouldn’t be happening at this mileage. This could eventually lead to engine failure or costly repairs if the piston or cylinder surfaces deteriorate further. I’m reporting this so NHTSA can track the issue and determine if it poses a broader reliability or safety concern.Read more

The paint on all four doors of my 2022 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition - White Pearl is cracking at the seam where sealant is applied, with visible rust beneath. This issue began at approximately 32,000 miles, within the warranty period. The cracks have worsened over time, and I’m concerned about potential corrosion and structural weakening of the doors.
In March 2025, I reported the issue to
... my local Honda dealer, who confirmed the cracks and instructed me to obtain repair estimates at their body shop. By May 2025, the regional Honda rep denied the claim due to repair cost and said to get a 2nd estimate from another shop they specified. That claim was again denied due to cost. The dealer told me to contact Honda Corporate which I did in October 2025. I was told the car was out of warranty and no further investigation would be made.
The cracks and visible rust raise concerns about premature corrosion, potentially weakening the door structure and latches, which could lead to a safety hazard over time. The delay in processing the claim appears intentional, as it pushed the car out of warranty.Read more
