My TPMS system failed on my MY19 Chevrolet Equinox around 49,000 miles and no longer warns me of underinflated tires for all four tires. Component malfunctioned: Power Transfer Unit (PTU); Safety risk: failure risks loss of drive power of the vehicle, putting driver and surrounding individuals at risk; Problem reproduced: Yes - dealer; Component inspected: Yes - dealer; Messages: Yes - SVC 4WD. Upon purchasing the vehicle, I was informed that the PTU fluid is not meant to be changed - that it is meant to be "lifetime". However, at
... 8 years and 56,000 miles, I am now informed that the PTU is failing because the fluid was never changed. Thus, instead of a simple, cheap fluid change service, I now need to pay around $5,000 for the dealer to change out the entire PTU. 8 years and 56,000 is far from "lifetime" but it just outside of the warranty so I have to pay for this out of pocket despite Jeep claiming that the PTU fluid is not meant to be changed. This is so common of a problem that the PTU part needed to complete this repair is not only out of stock at all dealers, there is a long queue for obtaining the part. This is costing me not just extra repair money but also impacting my daily life as I am out of a vehicle for much longer due to having to wait for an available part. I now also have to pay for other modes of transportation while also being overall limited on my ability to complete daily responsibilities. Clearly, if the PTU fluid is meant to be "lifetime", as I was informed it was meant to be when I purchased the vehicle, it is consistently defective since so many Jeep owners are dealing with this problem. Consumers should not be the one footing the bill for this Jeep defect.Read more

was crossing an intersection when the truck suddenly and without warning stopped (engine). Unable to shift the truck into neutral in order to move the truck out of the flow of traffic. So basically the truck was in the middle of an intersection with cars an

But since the truck wasn’t able to be shifter into neutral the tow truck had to maneuver around to the front and “drag the truck onto a flat bed in order to clear the vehicle. As a result these types of issues are likely to result in a near of fatal accident in the near future.Read more

After the Chrysler dealer in Glendale CA completed Recall S44 – Transmission Oil Pump on my 2016 Chrysler Town & Country in October 3 2025, the transmission began to malfunction and eventually stopped shifting completely. The dealer drained the transmission fluid, removed both front axles, removed all transmission components, and replaced the transmission oil pump, seals, bolts, and torque conve
... rter as required by the recall. The transmission is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The vehicle became unsafe to drive when the transmission began shifting erratically and then failed to shift at all, causing sudden loss of acceleration in traffic and posing a risk to myself and others. Diagnostic Codes: Before the recall, the vehicle had code P06DE (Engine Oil Pressure Control). Chrysler has a documented TSB for P06DE requiring a PCM software update, but the dealer did not perform this update during the recall. After the recall, the vehicle developed new code P0760 (Shift Solenoid C Malfunction), which was not present prior to the recall and appeared only after the transmission was reassembled. Inspection and Confirmation: The dealer confirmed P0760 but refused further inspection or repair, stating it was “not related,” despite the failure occurring immediately after major recall-related transmission work. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer. The failure is reproducible: the transmission will not shift. Reason for Complaint: This failure happened shortly after the S44 recall, which involved complete transmission disassembly. The combination of new post-recall transmission codes, the absence of a required PCM software update, and the sudden unsafe failure raises concern that the recall work may not have been performed correctly. I request NHTSA review whether Recall S44 repairs are causing secondary failures or being improperly completedRead more

In May 2024, I purchased an EVIQO Gen 1 Level 2 electric vehicle charger from Amazon. In November 2025, I noticed the charger would go dormant after charging, which prevented vehicle pre-conditioning. When I contacted EVIQO support, they advised me to remove the faceplate to access an internal reset button while the unit was energized, creating a significant electrical hazard. I raised concerns a
... bout the danger of accessing live, high-voltage components. EVIQO provided mixed and contradictory guidance, at times claiming it was safe due to insulated components and later quoting their manual warning of electric shock. Their instructions evolved repeatedly, creating confusion and exposing me to potential harm. This incident highlights a serious design flaw in the Gen 1 unit: users were required to access high-voltage components while energized to perform a basic reset, creating an unavoidable risk of electric shock. EVIQO’s subsequent release of the Gen 2 unit, which features a safe, externally accessible reset button, demonstrates that the hazard in the Gen 1 model was avoidable and that the company was aware of the flaw. No injuries occurred, but the situation underscores the risk posed by the Gen 1 unit and multiple instances of contradictory and unsafe guidance from EVIQO support. Despite this, the Gen 1 unit continues to be sold on Amazon.Read more

I brought the vehicle to Harbor Chevrolet. Their technicians confirmed the problem was caused by a failure of the high-voltage battery system. They also informed me that the required EV battery is unavailable from the manufacturer with no estimated availability. This could lead to a dead battery, leaving me stranded. More importantly, the failure to confirm the 'Park' state introduces a risk of the vehicle not being securely immobilized, creating a roll-away hazard if parked on an incline. The problem has been confirmed by local Chevrolet dealership service centers (receipts available). On 12/03/2025 at approximately 4:50 PM, the vehicle went into reduced-power (limp) mode while traveling in heavy highway traffic on a busy highway in a metro-area of >450,000 people. There was no shoulder available in which he could navigate onto. He was unable to accelerate an
... d had to coast approximately one mile at low speed while many, many cars were driving around him during rush hour traffic , which created a dangerous situation with vehicles traveling at normal highway speeds. A Honda dealership has previously inspected and confirmed the problem. On 07/28/2025, the service center documented lean fuel condition, misfire codes (P0301, P0304), failed fuel-rail pressure, and injector-related faults. They recommended replacement of fuel-system components. The printed report and repair estimate are available for inspection upon request. Prior to the safety incident, the vehicle intermittently displayed symptoms such as hesitation during acceleration and irregular engine operation, but no permanent warning light stayed on. The failure has progressed over time and the same loss-of-power condition can recur at any time. This poses a risk because loss of propulsion in moving traffic can lead to a collision. The component issue has been confirmed by the Honda dealer, and documentation is attached. I am filing this report because the failure creates a safety hazard, has been reproduced by a local dealership, and has not been resolved. The repair show suggested I return to Honda for repair. Furthermore, during my research of this problem, I discovered tens of thousands of complaints from others experiencing this exact issue, including new low mileage vehicles. These complaints are available on all social media platforms and search engines, with each complaint indicating problems with the fuel injectors on engines using direct fuel injection.Read more

... pump modulator. belt pulley system, One of the incidents left us without power or control of our vehicle on the interstate, with no where to pull over or get out of the way of oncoming semi trucks. The last incident again left the vehicle undriveable at 84k miles, with the dealer currently reporting that it is a lifter and cam shaft issue. Resulting in a 10k bill. They state that it is not covered under the recall of these engines because it is the top of the engine versus the bottom. Clearly, the engine oil problem noted in the recall has contributed to these issues . and the crankshaft not syncing properly with the lifters.Read more
