I purchased the 2025 CPO Palisade Calligraphy in April 9, 2025. Two weeks after I purchased it, I started noticing abnormal scratches and chips in the windshield. I had not driven behind a vehicle that threw rocks, I was not a beach for sand to scratch, nor had my vehicle been exposed to a creature that could have scratched the windshield. I reached out to my sales person and he said he'd connect
... back with me. That never happened. A couple months later, after getting my car detailed, I noticed many more scratches and dozens of chips. I reached back out to the dealer and my salesperson had left. I connected with a manager, as the chipping and scratching was causing a safety issue as I was focusing on it while driving and the way the sun would hit it caused awful glares. After speaking with a manager and then general sales manager, they agreed to replace the windshield. It was not until after this situation and my moonroof randomly exploding that I realized there were a number of windshield complaints on Hyundai's, specifically Palisades. While most reports are from 2020, I wanted to report to NTHSB that the issue is still happening.Read more

Component/System Involved: The vehicle experienced a brief electrical failure affecting multiple systems simultaneously: exterior headlights, infotainment system, and dashboard indicators (seatbelt warning). All components recovered automatically within approximately 0.5–1 second. The issue appears electrical in nature (possible power interruption, grounding issue, BCM/TCM-related event). The ve
... hicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: Yes. The headlights shut off completely while driving at night, even if only momentarily. This created a visibility loss and increased risk of collision, especially with surrounding traffic. The sudden loss and restoration of lighting was distracting and unexpected. Reproduction / Confirmation: The issue has occurred 4 times under different conditions (day/night driving). It has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Inspection Status: The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, dealer, police, insurance, or any third party regarding this issue. Warnings or Prior Symptoms: There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. The only indication was the seatbelt warning light illuminating during the event, coinciding with the blackout. No prior alerts appeared before either occurrence.I have experienced this electrical dropout four times over the ~1 year and 4 months I’ve owned the vehicle. Other owners of 2025 Kia K5s have reported the same momentary blackout behavior in online community discussions, indicating this may not be an isolated incident with my car. Owners have described the infotainment and instrument panel going dark and then returning to normal while driving.Read more

Gas filler "system" does not have screw on/off gas cap. It has a rubber covering with a slit through which driver inserts gasoline station hose metal nozzle. When removing gasoline station hose nozzle, rubber slit "appears to close" but drops of gasoline remain on the rubber covering & drop onto the vehicle body. I wipe off gasoline drops with paper towel. I'm concerned about large amount of gasol
... ine used & question if "rubber slit covering" provided instead of a tighten screw on/off gas cap allows gasoline/vapor to evaporate & condense on rubber covering of car fuel delivery hose to tank. This occurs in very cold weather as well as warm weather. Recall information on "Honda Fuel Pump" doesn't include this vehicle fuel delivery system issue. Aunt sold me the 2019 Honda Accord Sedan recently on [XXX]. I didn't notice this "no locked gas door" (push on gasoline door to open the door) which opens to rubber "pouch with slit" covering over delivery hose filling area down to gas tank. Aunt sees these 2 mechanisms as making filling gas tank easier without release of inside lever lock to gas delivery door nor having to turn a screw cap to open/close at gas station fueling. Aunt is instructed by Honda DarCar/Fairfax, VA to take Honda Accord in for maintenance only once a year. She was told she can check electronics system info regarding "% oil life remaining" as guide to when to get an oil change. A problem at this point is an alterable/'reset-able" electronics guide to when to get an oil change which can change "% oil life remaining" by accidental reset. By comparison, my now out-of-service 2011 Honda Accord had a normal locked gas filling door release from inside which opened onto a screw cap which could be tightened to stop gas vapor leak, evaporation/condensation & for gas theft & vandalism protection & an unalterable "% oil life remaining" wrench icon which resets only after oil change. The collision mitigation braking system consistently detects objects in the road and forcibly brakes when the road ahead of me is completely empty. The dealership refuses to inspect the system or try to recreate the problem despite the fact that there was a class-action suit against Honda for this exact CMBS malfunction in several other models. They just tell me to manually turn it off every time I get in the car. I am human and sometimes I forget, so this is not a solution. I'm afraid that this buggy "safety" system is going to get me and my child killed one of these days. I am happy to have the system inspected, but it doesn't keep a log of every time it activates so there's no real way to verify the false positives, and it happens randomly so it's very hard to recreate.Read more

The vehicle experienced a sudden engine failure and loss of power while traveling at freeway speed. Two days earlier, the vehicle had been taken to an authorized dealership for factory recall service. During that visit, concerns were raised about known engine issues associated with this model, but the vehicle was returned to service. While driving on the freeway, the engine abruptly stalled witho
... ut warning, causing immediate loss of propulsion and power. This created a dangerous situation in moving traffic, requiring rapid maneuvering to avoid a collision and safely exit traffic lanes. The vehicle became inoperable and could not be restarted. The failed component appears to be the engine or related internal engine system. The vehicle was towed back to the dealership following the incident and has remained inoperable since that time. The vehicle is currently available for inspection. The failure placed the driver at significant risk due to the sudden loss of power at highway speed. No collision occurred, but the risk of serious injury or death was present. The problem has not been reproduced because the vehicle has remained disabled since the incident. The dealership and manufacturer have inspected the vehicle after the failure. The manufacturer is reviewing the incident under an internal process. There were no prior warning lights, messages, or symptoms indicating imminent engine failure before the stall. The failure occurred suddenly and without advance notice.Read more

The power steering went out during routine around-town driving. One moment it was steering fine, the next moment it became extremely difficult and sluggish. There were no warning lights or warning of any sort until the steering wheel started jerking unevenly as I tried to turn. I was able to get control of the vehicle and pull it to the side of the road. There was no difference in the engine nois
... e, and I couldn't see any noticeable fluid leak. I was able to drive the vehicle home, make an appointment with the Toyota dealer, and get the vehicle to the dealership for inspection. The dealership told me after inspection, that the rack and pinion steering was binding internally, and that there was seepage from the right boot. Initially, they told me that the pump should be fine. I authorized them to replace the rack and pinion steering. After which, they told me that the problem seemed to still persist some, and that the pump would have to be replaced also. My total bill came to $3,200, which seemed not unfair. But this whole issue seemed like something that should be noticed as part of a recall. I found the NHTSA recall number. 21V-920, and my truck seemed to match exactly the symptoms spelled out is this recall , but Toyota refused to acknowledge it. My VIN number did not fall within the specified VIN for this recall. I've driven several Toyotas, including another Tundra, a Tacoma, 2 Highlanders and a Sienna, and have been pleased with each vehicle. This Tundra is 10 years old with 95,000 miles, and I've only done expected maintenance and a couple of occasional minor repairs. Those being: - Having the brakes resurfaced - Changing out the alternator In the end, it wasn't a devastating amount of money, but it was an issue that I felt Toyota should have taken care of. I did reach out to them, but because I had already paid for the repairs on the vehicle I needed to drive for work, they refused to talk to me any further. I have the estimate and final bill.Read more

This submission supplements my existing NHTSA complaint regarding Recall 17-010 and the 9-speed automatic transmission ATF warmer defect. My vehicle received Recall / Product Update 17-010 service on March 10, 2017, at which time the transmission was replaced. The final redesigned ATF warmer did not exist at that time. The ATF warmer installed with the replacement transmission was an earlier desig
... n. The vehicle returned for a second Recall 17-010 service visit on December 9, 2017. The service record from that visit explicitly states that the ATF warmer was not replaced, noting that it had been replaced during the prior visit. As a result, the recall was initiated but not completed with the final redesigned ATF warmer. Acura later issued TSB B17-026, extending warranty coverage to 10 years from original in-service date with unlimited mileage, because damage from ATF/coolant contamination may occur years after initial exposure, even if fluids later appear normal. In 2025, the vehicle developed transmission noise. An independent transmission specialist advised that the vehicle exhibits bearing failure, with the extent of damage unknown until teardown. Bearing failure is a known delayed consequence of ATF/coolant contamination associated with the ATF warmer defect. The vehicle was delivered to an authorized Acura dealership for evaluation under the warranty extension. However, the dealership has refused to perform the warranty inspection unless payment is made, and has stated that the vehicle is outside the warranty period, despite the warranty extension remaining in effect through January 2026. This supplement is submitted to document that: •Recall 17-010 was started but not completed with the final redesigned ATF warmer; •The final corrective part was never installed on this vehicle; and •Corrective action and inspection related to this incomplete recall and warranty extension are currently being denied.Read more

The vehicle was purchased new from the dealer in June of 2022. Since the purchase the vehicle has had multiple issues that are safety concerns. The backup camera cuts out on average 1 out of every 10 times the vehicle is placed in reverse always in low light situations like parking garages, night time driving or overcast/rainy weather. The vehicle has been in to GM on multiple occassions to have i
... ssue diagnosed and is still not repaired and TSB states for dealerships not to do more work to fix as this is a computer program issue and not a component issue, nonetheless the camera is still not functioning. The second area of failure is the transmission shift module. This module determines when the vehicle has been shifted out of park into R, N or D. The module has been replaced 2 times in 55,000 miles. When the module goes bad the vehicle gives a warning that the ability to shift will be lost. Finally the last safety issue that has been largely reported is the failure of the Telematics Onstar Module which runs the onboard communications for Onstar, Maps, GPS, and other systems that use the GPS signal. This means that any hands free technology tied to these systems no longer work leading to legal issues in most states that have hands free requirements. GM is charging around $1,000 to replace the Onstar module and it is taking 6 months or longer to even access the part if at all. Vehicle has also had running light/headlight, indicator light go out with no way to change a bulb, This requires an entire LED assembly, this issue is intermittent and may reset after the vehicle has been fully powered down, but creates a safety issue while driving with lights and blinker being in operable.Read more

Multiple failed recalls to stop vehicle High Voltage battery fires. I've already had the battery pack replaced once and now another recall of a software flash (68c) to test the battery cells separators for damage. So again the issue is still there and this is just another band-aid to catch it before it catches fire. This has been a ongoing issue for over a year and the issue is still not properl
... y corrected. Multiple months of no charging, no parking in garage or near other vehicles/structures just to have another band-aid of a software flash, to stop the fire before it starts doesn't make me feel safe enough to put my family in this vehicle or to still want to charge or park anywhere near other vehicles or structures. This is the same process that "fixed" this issue the last time that obviously isn't a fix at all. The new battery they installed in 07/22/25 is just more of the same junk batteries without a proper fix.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The car began stalling and started to become unresponsive while I was driving to work. While I was not 100% sure of what component was malfunctioning at the time, I suspected that it might be a timing chain problem because I had this same exact issue happen to to this car back in January 2025. I did
... not expect this issue to occur again because at the time of the previous problem, the dealership confirmed that issue was the timing chain and the VVT system, and replaced those components with new parts. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The car started stalling and sputtering, then became unresponsive while I was driving. If I were in a high-traffic area, I'm not confident that I would have been able to accelerate, stop, or safely pull over to the side of the road without putting myself and/or someone else in harms way. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the car is currently at the dealership and they confirmed that the issue is the timing chain and the VVT system. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes, the car is currently at the dealership and they confirmed that the issue is the timing chain and the VVT system. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, there were absolutely no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure.Read more

You will see from the documents, it has been in the shop 6 times in 10 months. now it sits in my yard because I don't want to get in a accident if it goes out while I'm driving.
