The engine was burning oil, so did a consumption test. The dealer took apart the engine and found the rings for the pistons were leaking and scaring was resulting. This caused me to buy part of a new engine because it was 6days past warranty with only 44,000mi on it. Also, at 18,000mi, a lifter bent and needed that replaced. The rear defroster malfunctioned and caused the rear glass to reach a high temperature, and it started raining outside, and it caused the rear glass to shatter. No known issues before? We come to this conclusion by looking at the black overheating marks on the glass after it shattered.

This happened the first night that I drove this brand new vehicle since owning it. While driving at night, there is what I would describe as a "Hard line" of headlight illumination on the roadway in front of the vehicle. I would describe the "hard line" as being illuminated toward the bottom and at a certain point further up, the light suddenly stops and is just a black void, creating a black line
... . While driving up and down roadways that have hills, there is a definitive line that the headlights do not shine on the roadway in front of the vehicle. The area ahead of this hard line is pitch black and is sometimes no more than 75 feet in front of the vehicle. This happens mainly while traveling down hills, near the bottom. As the car goes through the bottom of the hill, the area illuminated in front of the car can be even less than 75 feet. At this point the roadway beyond in front of the car is totally black. I wouldn't see this as a huge concern while driving in the city if there are street lights, but in rural areas, which is where I drive, I found this to be a major safety issue. Using the bright lights to help with illumination wasn't always an option when there was oncoming traffic or traffic directly in front of my vehicle. At times I had to slow down at the bottom of hills from the posted 60 MPH speed limit to less than 30 MPH because I couldn't see anything that may have been in the roadway in front of me.Read more

Steering randomly will fail to return to center in turns, causing the driver to have to manually turn wheel back to center. Happens in both sharp and sweeping turns in both the left and right direction while accelerating, decelerating, and maintaining speed. Issue occurs several times a week. ... continued turning left rather than re-center when I stopped giving it left steering input. I was going about 35 and decelerating gently for a stop sign at a T intersection at the bottom of a mild downhill slope of 5 to 10 degrees. The car I nearly hit was approaching in the opposite lane on the inside of the curve. When the left hand curve straightened out, my steering wheel (and wheels) did not return to center. My car continued across the yellow double lines. I had to quickly jerk the wheel to the right to avoid a collision. *I had to physically return the wheel to center through manual input to get my car to drive in a straight line.* I narrowly avoided a head-on collision. There was no advance warning. Having the steering randomly behave unexpectedly and in direct opposition of the vehicle's design, and *every* other vehicle's design is very dangerous. This is a known issue across many, many Bolts. Replacing the steering rack/column for this known safety issue on all generations of the Chevrolet Bolt is an expensive repair. Please investigate and issue a safety recall and force GM to correct this known safety defect that they should have already voluntarily recalled.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding an unrepaired Takata airbag recall associated with my vehicle VIN and concerns related to dealership representations and compliance charges at the time of sale. My vehicle currently shows an active unrepaired Takata airbag recall under NHTSA Recall Number 21V053 with recall status listed as “Recall Incomplete.” The recall states that the passenger-side
... front airbag inflator may rupture and send metal fragments into the vehicle interior, potentially causing serious injury or death. The vehicle was purchased on October 30, 2023 from an Alexandria, La Used car lot. Despite this unresolved federally recognized safety recall, a “compliance” fee was charged in the sales transaction. I was not informed that the vehicle had an active unrepaired Takata airbag recall associated with the VIN at the time of sale. I have also filed complaints with Louisiana regulatory authorities regarding the transaction. During review of the matter and related documentation, I discovered that the vehicle had an active unrepaired Takata recall associated with the VIN which currently remains listed as “Recall Incomplete” in the NHTSA database. I am requesting that this complaint be documented and reviewed regarding the unresolved safety recall and the representations made during the sale of the vehicle. The unrepaired Takata recall remains active on the vehicle while it sits in my driveway unused pending an ongoing rescission dispute. According to the recall notice, the inflator propellant may degrade over time from age, heat, and humidity exposure, increasing the risk that the passenger-side airbag inflator could rupture during deployment and send metal fragments into the vehicle, potentially causing serious injury or death.Read more

... recurring powertrain failure. The complete vehicle and all affected components are currently parked and fully available for immediate physical inspection at my residence upon request. While operating the vehicle at highway speeds, the powertrain abruptly loses throttle response and forces itself into a severe, uncommanded "Reduced Power / Limp Mode." This creates a severe safety hazard by instantly dropping vehicle velocity on active interstates and high-speed roadways, leaving the vehicle unable to accelerate out of harms way or merge safely, placing myself, my passengers, and surrounding motorists at immediate risk of a high-speed rear-end collision.The malfunction has been repeatedly confirmed and documented by authorized GM service agent Rountree Moore Chevrolet (Lake City, FL) across three separate service visits. The dealer confirmed the active trouble codes and attempted various repairs (including Transmission Control Module reprogramming on 04/24/2026, engine harness chafing repairs on 05/19/2026, and auxiliary fluid/battery adjustments on 05/21/2026). The persistence of the failure confirms the dealer has been unable to successfully remedy the defect. To date, the vehicle has only been inspected and worked on by the authorized dealership's factory-trained technicians. ***SAFETY/DANGER*** On April 12th at around 5:30 p.m. my family of five, to include three minor children were returning home from visiting family which live about an hour and a half away and as we're traveling on the freeway at highway speeds, in traffic, our new Tahoe unexpectedly and without warning went into reduced power mode and cut speed down to approximately 35 MPH in active traffic, which
... out my family and every other car around me in danger and in jeopardy of causing a collision and even worse, a multiple car pile-up as I dodged full speed traffic in front and behind me while traveling at approximately half their speed. I managed to exit the freeway and heard a loud knocking noise from the engine and saw the reduced power mode indicator, all of which had not happened before but again, the Tahoe is relatively new and was just over 5 months and at 8,889 miles at failure. I proceeded to contact GM roadside assistance. They sent a tow truck and I had to make arrangements for my family to return home, an hour away. I made it to the dealership with the tow truck driver after 9 p.m. ***CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE**" After the dealership inspected close to a week later they did determine that the entire engine and turbocharger had to be replaced, which they did in a little over a month, the dealership did their part but confidence is lost. Now I am hesitant to drive the Tahoe as it's the family vehicle but really put my kids, wife, myself and everyone around us on the road in danger as it, out of nowhere, cut speed drastically in active highway traffic.Read more

was driving along at 65mph when i heard a pop and then truck shut off said loss of oil pressure along with a few other warnings. managed to cost to the side of a hwy that has no shoulder msg came up saying put in neutral to start did so the motor cranked but would not turn over like it had lost all compression. got towed to a local repair shop spun a main bearing which in turn broke the timing cha
... in that then took out the oil pump. had no prior issues have kept up and regular maintenance well before the recommended time intervals. the hwy i was on is very busy two lane road with no shoulders and very limited passing opportunities could have very easily been hit. this has left me with a need for a total engine replacement that are quite expensive on a vehicle that was bought because it was not part of the gm recall as it is outside the listed as effected yrs.Read more

Sometimes my backup camera will not show a screen. I have considerable amount of trouble trying to connect my phone to the car. Hands down can I use the GPS on the car. Lights do not come on my dashboard. The RPM bounces up and down from starting it all the way to the while you're driving. The car does not want to stay started it does not like to go it does not hands down not like sitting still.

The front windshield reflects the dash below making it difficult to see out the windshield. Visibility is extremely important while driving. This is obviously on continual problem during daylight hours.

While driving on highway with cruise control set at 65 mph, the engine started misfiring, lost power and multiple warning lights came on. This was the first and only time I had engine problems and I never had any warning lights come on prior to this incident. Dealer confirmed engine experienced complete failure and need to be replaced.

The 2022 Chevy Silverado I own is having same problems with transmission as is the models indicated on the recall. This truck doesn’t show up on the recall and has transmission shuddering hard shifting and at times doesn’t respond as normal.
