Thank these things i feel cadilac should consider fixing due to milage before and after i purchased the cadilac due to the miles before and after purchase. ... ilac will not help with the cost and was told by onstar it needs repairs asap because it could cause air bags to pop out while driving or not come out during a crash. Im afraid some times driving it. In the 7yrs of owning this i maybe put around 40,000 miles on the car its in good condition. Which lead me to the other problem due to miles. When i purchased the cadilac a few days later the check engine light came on it was the catalytic converter it was almost $800 it has two of them the dealer repaired it. Here the other day i had onstar do a complete system scan and the report showed the converter was in the process of going out again but just hasnt triggered my check engine lite. I was shocked because of the miles i drivewhich is under 6000 miles a yr and i use top grade fuel there isnt any way these converters should be going out they should have lasted for the rest of my life and the cars life i take very good care of it changing the oils on a regular bases and other cares are met but when talk to cadilac they didnt even consider my care and miles driven at all or find out why tne converter is needed twice since i owned the car when most cars never need converter replacement. Im 62 yrs old, these are concerns i have but mostly the treatment by cadilac (GM) the safety part being on passenger side that seat never hardly get used but could cause air bags to open while driving and two convertersin 6-7 years of ownership when most cars never need one and othhers just once. Which tells me theres a problem some where else causing it to not work properly, but it didnt matter.Read more

The exterior housing units prematurely wear out and allow moisture to cause failures of the lights. The makes driving at night hard, because you can barely see. GM tried to give some customers a rebate, but this required owners to pay out of pocket at first for repairs, and this causes me an undue burden because I don't have that kind of money. This is very dangerous and GM should recall this.

In Sep 2021 I purchased this car. During the first drive after dark I noticed the headlights were very dim and the high beam only extended to just go just past the front of the car. these are the up-level HID lights. I didn't do anything right away as I rarely drive at night and then in well-lit areas. There is also considerable condensation inside primarily the passenger side light. On Oct 23
... ,2021 I went to Caddilac of Bentonville, AR to inquire about an open recall on the rear end. They are ordering parts. While there I inquired about the headlights and asked if there was a recall on them. The answer was there is no recall established but that it is a known problem by Caddilac. Today, I started started an Internet search for more information and found 166 problems noted on Web Site carproblemzoo.com. Nearly all stated it as a serious safety issue. Some reported near accidents, lights burning out while driving, condensation inside, dimness, etc. Fortunately I haven't had an accident nor have they burnt out. However, I do consider the problem a very serious concern. I can drive into oncoming traffic with high beams on and get zero reaction from the oncoming drivers. Actually, dim as they are, the low beams provide better light. This obviously has been a long-time problem on this and other like vehicles. There are 160 complaints on carcomplaints.com including crash and injury. Caddilacsociety.com says customers have been promised reimbursement for expenses but apparently little to no response from GM or Caddilac. There has been at least one class action lawsuit. The Internet is full of these serious safety reports and it makes me wonder why NHTSA has not made Caddilac issue a recall to prolate these faulty lights.Read more

The Headlights for my car - Cadillac 2014 SRX At night the headlights are not bright enough to see and driving is dangerous. The car is available for inspection upon request. I was driving at night making a turn and I hit a small sign post on a back road because I could not see it! I put others at risk driving with my high beams on blinding the oncoming cars. If people are walking on the road
... I can not see them and therefore put them at risk. Additionally I put myself and my family at risk. I am a first responder working in a Doctor's office after dark and have to drive home on back roads that are very dark and not lit with street lights. The dealer at Ingersoll Auto of Danbury CT confirmed the headlights do not work properly and are not bright enough to see at night. They said they are defective. When I purchased the car and could not see at night driving I contacted my dealership. They said the problem has been a recall in Florida. I contacted Cadillac who said they sent me a letter and I should have them fixed.Read more

I received a letter from Cadillac that they were aware of an issue with the moisture in the headlights on my vehicle, and were offering a credit towards replacement of the headlights. I reported the issue to Cadillac in July of 2021 and was told to take it to a dealership for a d

I did not receive a phone call, but emails stating they could not reach me to and to call back. The email was a template that was not filled out and I had left numerous voicemails for my rep, and her supervisor. I contacted the BBB in September and was told they were working with the dealership. On 10/20/21 I received a call at 6:45 am then a response from the BBB stating "to have the work completed and it will be reviewed for reimbursement." The car is dangerous to drive at night, Cadillac is well aware of the issue, and using tactics to avoid correcting a defective part.Read more

So we bought the car. In 2012 or 2013. And in 2014 we received a yellow letter in the mail saying that our car needed to be serviced for a recall. We set it up. Ended up taking it in To be serviced for the recalls. Not knowing in 2008 they recalled what is now going wrong in the car, I didn’t say anything at the time we repaired it. It they didn’t either I believe and even if we didn’t say
... anything they honestly should’ve just repaired the part that was messed up for us and then let us know: now we have spent so much money towing our car back to our house so that it is safe, and have missed appointments, been stranded, I mean we have really, honestly and truly, very very compromised but this issue with the electrical system Our car is having all the time since this recall repair was administered: NOW IT HAS JUST GOTTEN SO BAD WE CAN NOYT EVEN DRIVE IT. We will get stuck where ever we turn it off unfortunately. I’ve not looked online at information taken all the necessary needs to find out if my vehicle was given the recall before we owned it just to be sure too, it was not. I know that everything that I have read relates directly perfectly to Every single issue that we are have ig Now on our car. The recall from 2014 the key doesn’t come out the ignition anymore and that’s very good, but I know that The CADILLAC Dealer, DID NOT!! Install any other part into the car but that service it asked for. Like beyond a doubt I don’t know what to do and would love to be able to get some answers soon. Thank you very much. Even after replacing bulbs in the headlights with the brightest bulbs available for the car, the headlights are too dim to see the road or anything while driving at night. This creates a safety hazard for the drivers and passengers in the car and other drivers on the road. Even the lines on roads are not clearly visible unless they are freshly painted. GM refuses to fix the problem and the replace

I was driving and it started rattling and getting very bumpy. I exited the freeway and came to a stop. The vehicle would no longer move. I had it towed to my mechanic. The right front axle broke. PROBLEM: LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON 2014 CADILLAC SRX: With age, the low beam headlights become too dim to drive at night even though there is nothing wrong with the actual headlight bulb. The problem is related to the materials and design of the Cadillac SRX headlight assemblies. The reflector of the low beam headlight is made of plastic with a chrome coating. The heat of the OEM bulb deteriorates
... the chrome coating on the reflector until it appears as the dull white color of the plastic base material. Without the chrome coating the low beam headlights are very dim. Replacing the headlight bulb will not remedy the situation. The only fix is to replace the entire headlight assembly and this is usually done at a dealership because the whole front grill/bumper must be removed). During 2019 and 2020 Cadillac had a reimbursement program for people that complained or owners that received letters about the program which was handled by a 3rd party. There had been complaints to Cadillac about these low output headlights but they kept this problem out of the public realm by quietly settling with those customers. The estimate I received today from Everett Chevrolet-Cadillac in Hickory NC was $1900 to replace both headlight assemblies with factory original parts. I spoke to Cadillac customer care today and they said they may possibly assist in the replacement but I would have to submit a written estimate to them for review. If Cadillac is not responsible for this problem then why have they paid for replacements in the past and why will they consider paying for them now on a case by case basis? These aging Cadillac SRX models are not safe to be on the roads with these dim low beam headlights. Owners either have to be very careful or use their high beam headlights in night time traffic.Read more

Headlights have excessive water and moisture internally causing extremely poor night visibility to the point you can't see the road without turning on your brights which is also extremely dangerous with oncoming traffic. So dangerous try not to drive at night.

During a service appointment, on my 2014 Cadillac CTS, the dealership pointed out that both axle seals on the differential appears to be leaking. On a subsequent inspection conducted on 8/24/2021, by the dealership, it was confirmed that both axle seals were leaking. At the time of the inspection the vehicle had 120,873 miles showing on the odometer. These two reports were the initial indication
... that the axle seal were leaking. The dealership has maintained the vehicle since I purchased it from them. I checked to see was if there was a Service Bulletin on this issue, but there was none. However, there was a Service Bulletin (Bulletin No. PIP5075A) concerning "Rear Axle Leak From The Vent" on the differential on the 2011-2013 Cadillac CTS and CTS-V. I contend that GM over compensated for the vent leak and now the vent on the differential of the 2014 Cadillac CTS does not release the built up air pressure which is causing the seals to leak. It is only a matter of time when the differential will lock up due to lack of lubricant and cause a serious accident. I contacted GM on this issue, but they do not want to admit there is a problem. However, if you look up complaints on the internet, there are many many people with this issue on Cadillac's CTS and ATS. There needs to be at a minimum a Service Bulletin issued. I would recommend a recall to correct this problem.Read more
