Check engine light came on as well as hybrid malfunction message. While on the highway could not accel or go past 60 mph, gas pedal would then not work and speed went down, I pulled car over to breakdown lane and car abruptly stopped and would not move. Many warnings flashed and car needed to be towed. Temperature rose and ignition messages came up, steering wheel locked and car was not drivable.

Rodents chewed through the main wire harness on my vehicle on 2 separate occasions, both times in the same exact location. This recurring damage poses a serious safety risk and may be linked to soy-based wire coatings that attract rodents. The first incident required a $4,979.27 repair, covered by insurance; I paid a $500 deductible. The vehicle was diagnosed by Boonton Auto Body Shop. I recently
... discovered a second instance of rodent damage in the exact same location, which has not yet been repaired. This led me to investigate further and learn that this may be a common issue in certain vehicles, possibly due to soy-based insulation. I filed a complaint with Kia, but they denied responsibility. The main wire harness is critical to safety systems including braking, steering, engine performance, lighting, and airbags. Although I caught the issue before any accident occurred, undetected damage could lead to serious safety failures while driving. Some may argue the issue is environmental, but I also own a 2012 Toyota Prius, which I own and park in the same location since 2012. That vehicle has never had any rodent damage. This suggests that the problem is not just environmental, but may be due to the design, material based, or placement of the wiring in the Kia. Many consumers are unaware they can report safety-related issues to NHTSA. After being denied by the manufacturer, most are left with high repair costs and no resolution. I am concerned that if consumers remain silent or unaware of this process, Kia will not be held accountable. This is not an isolated case. The repeated, location-specific failure and the manufacturer's refusal to act show a clear pattern of potential design defect. I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue seriously, issue a recall to ensure Kia addresses the problem and protects consumer safety, and require the manufacturer to reimburse affected consumers for repair costs. This issue must be addressed before a serious accident occurs.Read more

Safety Concern Report: 2024 GMC Sierra Gear Shifter Obstruction ⸻ Vehicle Information: 2024 GMC Sierra [Specify 1500/2500/3500] [Optional: VIN Number] ⸻ Description of the Problem: I am writing to report a design concern with my 2024 GMC Sierra. The location and height of the gear shifter on this vehicle significantly obstruct the driver’s view of the center infotainment screen and cons
... ole, especially while seated in a normal, upright driving position. The gear shifter blocks important information such as navigation directions, ETA, media controls, and other on-screen notifications. This forces me to lean forward or reposition myself in an unnatural way while driving, which I believe creates an unnecessary distraction and increases the risk of driver error or loss of situational awareness. I have attempted to adjust my seating position, steering wheel angle, and seat height, but none of these adjustments fully resolve the obstruction. After discussing this issue with other owners online, I found that multiple GMC Sierra owners have experienced the same visibility problem. Some have even resorted to aftermarket modifications to address the design flaw. I believe this is a design oversight that affects safe vehicle operation. I respectfully request that GMC and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration review this issue for potential corrective action. ⸻ Requested Action: Please investigate this safety concern and consider potential solutions, such as a recall, design revision, or retrofit option to improve screen visibility without forcing the driver into unsafe driving postures. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more

The stop start system has been malfunctioning ever since shortly after I purchased the car. When I purchased the car, my father and I asked for a printout of the CARFAX history to ensure we weren't buying a '"lemon". There was no information reflecting that the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Lattitude 2.4 2WD had been serviced for anything other than routine car maintenance. The CARFAX reflected that the prev
... ious owner took care of the car, propelling us to seal the deal, otherwise we would've kept looking if there were any found issues. It wasn't until I attempted to get my car serviced at Gettel the first time it malfunctioned that I learned it had been brought to their service department numerous times before it even reached 100 miles. They refused to work on it because the warranty had JUST expired recently, not even a whole year after buying the car (of course) and handed me a piece of paper with the recalls and services regarding the stop/start system. At this point I had to just repair it myself. Fast forward to the second time it malfunctioned: I was in traffic and preparing to slow down to turn when the wheels, brakes, and steering locked up, parking brake turned on and the whole car shut off causing a small collision. The other driver understood what happened and claimed the same thing happened to his wife, therefore he hates stop/start vehicles. He made me promise to never buy another electrical car, charged it to the game and drove away. Fast forward again to currently, now the third time my car broke down: While sitting at a light, it was still running, but as I lifted my foot from the brake pedal the car shut down. There was no indication of anything wrong with the car (S.N. none of the lights on the dash have EVER lit up since I bought it). I contacted Gettel via Google review and NOW they want to do something about this death trap they sold me because I made my situation public. P.S. Subject: Inquiry Regarding Ball Joint and Control Arm Issues on My 2007 Jeep Liberty Dear support tech, I am writing to express my concerns regarding recurring issues with my 2007 Jeep Liberty, specifically with the driver-side ball joint and control arm. In 2019, I had the driver-side ball joint replaced at Firestone. However, on [XXX], I experienced a serious issue when the wheel became stuck
... while reversing out of a parking space. Fortunately, it occurred at low speed, and the vehicle was towed through my insurance. A family member was able to fix it temporarily. More recently, on February 25, 2025, I had new wheels installed at Firestone, where I was informed that there is an issue with both the front control arm and the left and right ball joints. Given that I don’t drive at high speeds and use the vehicle less frequently now, this seems unusual and concerning. I’ve seen reports about similar issues with same model and year (Reddit, jeep forums). Could this be a recurring problem specific to the Liberty model as I have seen there’s a recall for 2002-2006? I genuinely love my vehicle, but I’m growing frustrated with the ongoing repairs and costs. I would appreciate your insight into whether this is a known issue and what steps I can take to resolve it permanently. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. The vehicle entered limp mode around [XXX] at 152,170 miles, despite early signs of failure starting at 131,000 miles. These included loss of power, rough idle, and a check engine light (CEL) which triggered the P1326 code confirmed by bot
... h a pre-scan and Kia dealership. System that failed: The engine and powertrain system. Issue stems from rod bearing wear as identified in Kia’s engine class-action settlement. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: Limp mode drastically reduced engine power on a main road. I could not safely accelerate, which created a hazard in traffic. Additionally, oil loss was confirmed on multiple occasions, and misfire codes were detected. This could have led to engine stall or seizure if I continued driving. Was issue confirmed by a dealer or service center? Yes. Lupient Kia confirmed P1326 at 133,703 miles. Luther Kia later confirmed limp mode and conducted a diagnostic at 152,170 miles. Was vehicle/component inspected by others? Yes. Jiffy Lube documented "no oil on stick" at 130,367 miles. O’Reilly Auto and Economy Muffler later confirmed related secondary issues. Were there symptoms or warnings prior to failure? Yes. CEL appeared at 131,000 miles. Knock sensor was replaced at 131,165 miles. The Multi Media Interface (MMI) in my 2020 Audi A4 spontaneously reboots while driving. When the reboots happen, the screen goes black and key systems such as the backup camera, rear obstacle detection, and navigation become unavailable until the reboot completes and the sy
... stems reload. Restoring functionality requires user input to get through the loading screens. The issue started in 2024 and the Audi dealership was notified by me on 19 Apr 2024, but they could not replicate the issue and found no "fault codes". There are numerous TSBs (filed with NHTSA) that point to available software updates that should be applied to address infotainment-related issues. The problem continued and I asked the dealer to re-examine it on 27 Mar 2025, but they would not perform diagnostics unless I paid a significant labor charge (since the car is now out of warranty), so I declined. This appears to be a widespread issue based on the numerous reports found on online user forums, affecting the same model year vehicles. (For multiple examples, refer to [XXX] .) Most of the users experiencing this issue have similar software versions, and likely similar production dates. This should be considered an important safety issue, as the reboots can happen in the middle of a reverse parking maneuver, and they render the backup camera and obstacle detection sensors completely inoperative until the system reloads. They also impact safety on the highway, as the reboots completely disable the navigation screens and require multiple user input to restore while driving. Relevant TSB numbers include TSB 2067021, TSB 2076404, TSB 2069112. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
