I own a 2020 Honda Odyssey and I am currently having a safety issue with the power tailgate. Upon inspection by my Honda dealership, my vehicle requires a new power tailgate control unit and floor harness and my roof rail and clips need to be re-sealed and replaced. It was discovered that due to the break in seal the connectors corroded due to a water leak.In April of 2026 I received multiple war
... ning messages on my dashboard. The first was Power tailgate problem and the second was keyless remote problem. At first I noticed my car continuously beeping while driving along with the warning on my dashboard. I attempted to turn the vehicle off to see if it would reset, but it did not. I attempted to open and close my tailgate. I could only open my tailgate with the push button on my dashboard. I had to manually close my tailgate due to my buttons on my car and my key fab failing to work. Next while driving, I could hear the locking mechanism on my tailgate continuously locking and unlocking. Of course this particularly concerned me because I have 3 young children and their safety as well as mine was in danger. It was unclear if my tailgate was going to open while driving. Such an action could potentially cause a serious threat or harm to myself, my family or other vehicles on the road.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The rear control arm (rear suspension component) failed catastrophically by snapping while the vehicle was in motion. This is a critical structural component responsible for maintaining proper wheel alignment and vehicle stability. The failed part has been retained and is available for inspection upo
... n request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The sudden failure of the rear control arm placed my husband and son in immediate danger. This component is essential for maintaining control of the vehicle; when it snapped, it compromised the stability and handling of the rear wheel, significantly increasing the risk of loss of control, collision, or rollover. The failure occurred without warning while driving, creating a serious and unpredictable hazard not only for them but also for surrounding drivers on the road. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The failure has been visually confirmed by a service provider as a snapped rear control arm. Additionally, this issue is widely documented as a known defect in similar vehicles, with multiple reports indicating premature failure of this component under normal driving conditions. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? At this time, the component has been inspected by a service professional. The dealership has been contacted but declined assistance, citing that the vehicle falls just outside of the extended warranty parameters, despite the nature of the failure. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lights, messages, or noticeable symptoms prior to the failure. The control arm snapped suddenly and without any indication, which underscores the dangerous and unpredictable natureRead more

My shift to park was broken last September 9-25, and I took it to the dealers I bought it from (the month prior, in august) and they fixed it. I was never informed what they did to fix it. I didn't have any issues with it after that up until recently. I will put my car into park, press the engine button to turn it off, and then it displays the shift to park message and beeps. the light next to my
... gear shift will be on "P" and my screen also says my car is in park. I have to mess with the gear shifter until it recognizes that it's parked so I can actually leave my car. I have taken it to an auto shop local to me and they had it all day and couldn't figure out what caused it. I typically am stuck in my car for over 5 minutes because of this issue. My lane departure warning worked for about 2-3 months after I purchased the car. Out of nowhere it stopped working and when I press the button to turn it on, it says it's unavailable. I've tried cleaning the sensor, turning it on when I'm not accelerating/braking, and turning it on while in cruise control and it will not work.Read more

I am reporting a serious engine safety issue involving coolant intrusion into the engine, resulting in misfires, loss of power, and potential engine failure while driving. My vehicle began experiencing rough starts after sitting overnight, including shaking and hesitation. in a few dayna, the issue worsened and is now accompanied by the following: * Coolant loss requiring refill approximately ever
... y other day * Sweet smell of coolant coming from the exhaust * Occasional white smoke from the exhaust on startup * Gurgling sound behind the dashboard during startup * Loss of engine power and hesitation when accelerating * Engine warning message: “Engine Fault – Service Now” Diagnostic Trouble Codes Retrieved: * P0300 – Random/multiple cylinder misfire * P0302 – Cylinder 2 misfire * P0316 – Misfire detected on startup * P0339 – Crankshaft position sensor intermittent * P059F – Active grille shutter malfunction * P06E9 – Engine starter performance issue I brought the vehicle to a repair shop where I was informed that coolant is entering the engine and mixing with the oil. I was also told there is evidence of oil leakage from the turbocharger area. The shop indicated that the engine likely requires replacement due to internal failure, with an estimated repair cost between $10,000 and $15,000. No prior warning of coolant intrusion was given during a recent service visit approximately one week earlier. This issue creates a serious safety risk because the engine may fail unexpectedly while driving. The problem appears to worsen after the vehicle sits, increasing the risk of failure during normal daily use such as commuting or transporting my child.Based on my research, similar issues involving coolant intrusion have been reported in Ford vehicles equipped with the 1.5L EcoBoost engine. This appears to be a known defect that can lead to engine failure without adequate warning.I am requesting that this issue be investigated as a potential safety defect.Read more

This is related to the incident report number XXX I filed previously. Before, between, and after that incident and this one reported today. The vehicle performs mostly normal, the severe issues are completely random and unpredictable. On 4/28/26 I started my truck and left to take my daughter to her [XXX] pediatrician appointment. I left my neighborhood and turned left into traffic. I didn’t
... speed up much, as the red light on the street stopped me about 100 yards down the road. Then, when green light hit I attempted to accelerate. The vehicle appeared to be stuck in 6th gear and would only rev up the RPMs to about 4000 and barely move forward. I managed to drive about 50ft and get the vehicle off onto the grass shoulder infront of someone’s house. I shifted the vehicle from park to drive and turned it on and off multiple times. This did not resolve the issue and I eventually put the truck in 4x4 in an attempt to make more power and drive forward. This entire time I’m on the shoulder of morning 55mph traffic, hazard lights on, with my infant in the back seat. I managed to get the vehicle to shift into 2nd gear and drive up the road. Once it came up to operating temperature it would shift into higher gears and we made it to the pediatrician. The truck stalled out similarly at two other stopped intersections and on the parking deck before we arrived at our destination. I called my wife and had her drive our daughter home after the appointment. I drove the truck home, on the same route, and it acted as if nothing was wrong. It shifted hard between 1-3rd but otherwise performed well enough. I have scheduled a transmission rebuild with a non-Ford service center for 5/4/26. It is extremely concerning that these issues are happening to myself and others with the 10R80 10-speed and Ford isn’t being forced to recall these vehicles. My truck is a 2019 with 86000 miles now. The vehicle’s forward collision avoidance and adaptive cruise control radar sensor is mounted directly behind a plastic front emblem that can be removed in seconds without tools. This design allows easy theft of the radar unit, which immediately disables Honda Sensing safety systems including collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and lane keeping assis
... tance. Theft of this component renders federally marketed safety systems inoperable and results in dashboard warnings and loss of active safety features. Replacement and required recalibration costs are extremely high, commonly reported between $1,500 and $2,500. This issue is caused by exposed placement and lack of theft deterrence for a critical safety component, not by vehicle misuse or modification. Similar thefts are being reported by other owners, indicating a widespread design vulnerability that allows essential safety systems to be disabled through simple theft.Read more

This complaint involves a catastrophic engine failure in a 2018 Hyundai Tucson that appears to be part of a broader pattern of similar failures reported by other owners. Prior to failure, the vehicle exhibited excessive oil consumption and progressive engine performance issues. These symptoms have been widely reported by other consumers with the same vehicle, suggesting a systemic defect rather t
... han an isolated incident. The engine failed completely while the vehicle was being driven to a mechanic for evaluation. The vehicle experienced sudden loss of power and shut down in the middle of an active intersection, creating a significant safety hazard and risk of collision or fatality. Online consumer reports, forums, and complaints indicate that many 2018 Hyundai Tucson vehicles experience similar symptoms—specifically excessive oil consumption followed by engine failure. Despite this apparent pattern, no comprehensive recall or sufficient consumer warning has been issued. The manufacturer has refused to provide assistance, citing warranty limitations, which raises concerns that known defects are not being addressed and unsafe vehicles remain in operation. This issue presents a serious safety risk due to sudden and unexpected loss of engine power while driving. I am requesting that NHTSA evaluate this as a potential widespread defect and initiate a formal investigation that could lead to a recall to protect consumersRead more

SUBJ: Vehicle Safety Complaint – 2023 Cadillac Escalade Sudden Loss of Power I am reporting a safety issue involving a 2023 Cadillac Escalade ESV (VIN: [XXX] ). On April 19, 2026 (late evening into early April 20), while traveling approximately 70 mph on [XXX] , the vehicle suddenly and completely lost engine power without warning. This created an immediate safety hazard, nearly resulting in
... a collision. I was able to exit the highway, but the vehicle lost all acceleration and became disabled in the middle of a dark off-ramp with oncoming traffic approaching from behind. OnStar was contacted and Virginia State Police responded due to the unsafe location. A trooper remained on scene with emergency lights to redirect traffic and prevent a collision. Due to the hazardous conditions, the trooper arranged an emergency tow. I incurred $389.61 in out-of-pocket towing costs. The vehicle was taken to a tow yard, and my AAA Premier coverage then towed it 189 miles to Miller Brothers Cadillac in Ellicott City, MD. The dealership diagnosed catastrophic engine failure requiring full engine replacement at approximately 53,000 miles. There were no meaningful warning indicators prior to the sudden loss of power. This vehicle was purchased from Sons Chevrolet / Cadillac in Columbus, GA in December 2025 as a Certified Pre-Owned Cadillac and had already required multiple repairs shortly after purchase. The vehicle is currently at Miller Brothers Cadillac awaiting complete engine replacement and is available for inspection. This sudden loss of power at highway speed presents a serious safety risk and could have resulted in a severe accident or loss of life. Given the absence of warning and catastrophic failure at relatively low mileage, I am concerned this may indicate a broader safety defect rather than an isolated incident. The vehicle is experiencing persistent dashboard warnings including "Brake performance may be reduced," "Low Speed Braking Control problem," and "Parking sensor problem." I again provided cell phone photos as proof of the defect, but the dealer reported "nothing found." Despite the dealer's inability to diagnose the cause, my photographic documentation from 9/29/25, 10/25/25, 4/20/26, and 4/25/26 proves these defects are real, recurring, and significantly impair the safety and value of the vehicle.Read more

Severe structural corrosion was discovered on a low-mileage 2019 compact SUV affecting critical suspension components, including the front subframe, lower control arm mounting points, and structural attachment areas. The issue was identified during inspection at a dealership. The technician documented that suspension components were severely rusted, subframe bolts were rusted and cracking, and lo

These components are part of the load-bearing suspension system and may pose a safety risk if failure occurs. This level of corrosion is unusual given the vehicle has approximately 27,000 miles and has been operated in a region without exposure to road salt or severe winter conditions. Independent mechanics who inspected the vehicle also expressed concern about the severity of the corrosion. The problem was confirmed by both a dealership and an independent repair facility. The vehicle was not inspected directly by the manufacturer. No warning lights or messages were present prior to discovery of the issue. Photographic evidence shows rust perforation, material loss, and metal delamination along structural seams, indicating corrosion progressing internally. On Sunday April 19th at approximately 12:00pm. I was driving on NJ’s garden state parkway when the car had catastrophic engine failure at highway speeds. I lost full power, including power steering, and brakes. This SUV could have killed my family and I if I was unable to use brute force to control it into the right lane. While I understand that any vehicle can experience warranty-related issues
... , a catastrophic engine failure at highway speeds is not a typical or acceptable occurrence. The severity of this incident has significantly impacted my confidence in both the vehicle and the brand. I am particularly concerned about the safety implications associated with the L87 6.2L V8 engine, which has been widely reported as affecting a substantial number of vehicles. Given what occurred, I no longer feel safe operating this Escalade. My wife is unwilling to drive it, and I am not comfortable having my child in the vehicle under any circumstances.Read more

2025 CADILLAC XT6 AWD SPORT, VIN [XXX] , PURCHASED NEW FROM [XXX] [XXX] ON FEBRUARY 20, 2026. THE VEHICLE'S AUDIO SYSTEM INTERMITTENTLY ACTIVATES ALL SPEAKERS WITHOUT COMMAND WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE CONDITION OCCURS UNPREDICTABLY AND PRODUCES A SUDDEN LOUD AUDIO EVENT INSIDE THE CABIN THAT STARTLES THE DRIVER AND CREATES A DRIVER- DISTRACTION HAZARD. THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO DEVELOPED
... A PERSISTENT DASHBOARD RATTLE, WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED TO THE SAME UNDERLYING BODY- CONTROL-MODULE OR WIRING ISSUE. I HAVE REPORTED THESE CONDITIONS TO CENTRAL [XXX] . THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY OUT OF SERVICE FOR AN UNRELATED CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE (SEE COMPANION NHTSA COMPLAINT FILED BY THIS CONSUMER). I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT SO NHTSA CAN EVALUATE WHETHER OTHER 2024–2026 CADILLAC XT6 VEHICLES HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME UNCOMMANDED AUDIO ACTIVATION AND WHETHER THE CONDITION WARRANTS INVESTIGATION. NO CRASH HAS OCCURRED. NO INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED. THE RISK IS DRIVER DISTRACTION FROM AN UNEXPECTED LOUD AUDIO EVENT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. 2025 CADILLAC XT6 AWD SPORT, VIN [XXX] , PURCHASED NEW FROM CENTRAL [XXX] CADILLAC ON FEBRUARY 20, 2026 WITH 3,950 MILES. WITHIN APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS OF DELIVERY THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED AN ABNORMAL ENGINE NOISE AT COLD START AND AN INTERMITTENT VIBRATION DURING DRIVING. I REPORTED BOTH SYMPTOMS TO CENTRAL HOUSTON CADILLAC BY PHONE AND TEXT MESSAGE. DEALER PERSONNEL TOLD ME THE NOISE WAS "NORM
... AL" AND THAT "ALL CADILLAC/GM VEHICLES HAVE THAT ISSUE." BASED ON THAT ASSURANCE I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS FAMILY TRANSPORTATION, INCLUDING WITH MY MINOR CHILDREN ONBOARD, ONE OF WHOM IS A SPECIAL-NEEDS CHILD. IN APRIL 2026, APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE, I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO CENTRAL HOUSTON CADILLAC FOR AN UNRELATED CONCERN. AT THAT VISIT THE DEALER DIAGNOSED A CATASTROPHIC INTERNAL ENGINE DEFECT AND ADVISED THAT COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT IS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY OUT OF SERVICE FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 DAYS WHILE THE ENGINE IS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE IN A NEARLY-NEW VEHICLE CREATES A SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER, STALLING, LOSS OF CONTROL, OR UNDERHOOD FIRE. THE DEALER'S INITIAL MISCHARACTERIZATION OF THE WARNING SYMPTOM (COLD-START KNOCK) AS "NORMAL" IS PARTICULARLY CONCERNING AND SUGGESTS A POTENTIAL PATTERN ACROSS 2024–2025 CADILLAC XT6 VEHICLES THAT NHTSA SHOULD INVESTIGATE. NO CRASH HAS OCCURRED. NO INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED. NO FIRE HAS OCCURRED. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATED WITH CHILDREN ONBOARD AFTER THE DEFECT BEGAN MANIFESTING AND BEFORE THE DEALER PROPERLY DIAGNOSED IT. I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT SO NHTSA CAN EVALUATE WHETHER A PATTERN EXISTS IN THIS ENGINE AND TO ENSURE THE DEFECTIVE ENGINE REMOVED FROM MY VEHICLE IS PRESERVED FOR POTENTIAL INVESTIGATION. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The issue involves the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and the transition between regenerative braking and friction braking in my Cadillac Lyriq (RWD). The ABS engages unexpectedly during normal braking conditions when using one-pedal driving. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How
... was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The unexpected ABS activation creates inconsistent and unpredictable braking behavior, including a pulsing sensation and reduced braking confidence. This affects the driver’s ability to modulate braking smoothly and predict stopping distance, increasing the risk of a collision, especially in normal traffic conditions where consistent braking response is critical. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The issue has been reproduced during multiple visits to authorized Cadillac dealerships. However, I have been told that the vehicle is “operating as designed,” despite the abnormal braking behavior. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected by multiple authorized Cadillac dealerships and the issue has been escalated to General Motors. No resolution or fix has been provided to date. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There are no warning lights or messages associated with this issue. The problem occurs intermittently during normal driving conditions, particularly when transitioning from regenerative braking (one-pedal driving) to applying the brake pedal. The issue began shortly after taking delivery of the vehicle and has persisted since.Read more

I purchased Used in Jan 2026 When starting the lifters were loud and I thought was normal engine operation. Since 2/17/2026 the engine vibrated or ran rough when idling. The auto/Stop Start feature failed randomly as the engine stalled when trying to start. The car passed the recall for the 6.2 Gm L85 engine issue, but is still having issues. The dealership Val Ward Ft Myers has the car now, and i

2022 Cadillac Escalade. Had the 6.2 liter engine recall done about 6K miles ago in which the engine was replaced. Now it’s back at the dealer again and needs another 6.2 liter engine. Been at the dealer for a month and GM has given them no update on when they can get another engine for it. This is insane. How am I ever supposed to be able to take my family around in this vehicle if the engines k
