1st incident - Car stalled at a red light and had to be towed for repair. It was determined to be the fuel injector pump. No lights came on and there was no indication of an issue prior to it stalling. 2nd incident - On the intestate it started making a rattling noise and felt like it was losing power. No lights came on to indicate any issue. Luckily we were able to exit the interstate but it st
... alled on the middle of the exit ramp. We were 5 hours away from home and it was towed to the nearest Cadillac dealership. They had the car for approximately 2 months and replaced the engine. 3rd incident - the car was back 2 weeks from the engine replacement. For 1 of these weeks it sat in the airport garage. When it was turned back on after sitting for a week the check engine light came on. I was able to make it home from the airport but it stalled out in our driveway and had to be towed again. It was determined it was the fuel injector pump and it was replaced again. The pump was only about a year old.Read more

The vehicle experienced a catastrophic engine failure while it was being driven, according to the renter who had it through Turo. It broke down and stalled at a stoplight. I then had it towed to a Cadillac dealership in Cocoa Beach. After inspection, the dealership informed me that the engine had seized and provided a replacement estimate of over $16,000. Because of the high cost, I chose to take
... the vehicle to a reputable local repair shop (Fastlane Automotive). They quoted me a lower price of approximately $11,000. The engine is currently on order but is backordered at the moment and its currently parked up there. I firmly believe this engine failure is connected to an active recall affecting this vehicle.Read more

There is a known issue with this year and other model years of the lifters going bad inside the engines. I personally had this happen and heard about several other cases. This notice stems from the recent news release of 2021 and on model years being affected. This repair cost me roughly 5,000 dollars and I nearly drove off the road once the engine failed.

There was an internal failure in the engine causing loss of power, misfire, and loud knocking from inside the engine. Check engine light came out and the car was shut-off and towed to a repair facility. The facility found metal shavings in the oil filter and said the engine needs to be replaced. I became aware of an open recall (25V-274) on the same engine for model years 2021-2024, and think the

My 2021 Cadillac Escalade experienced a sudden engine failure due to the L87 “Loss of Propulsion” recall. The vehicle has been undrivable since February 25, 2025, and has been at the dealership (Ocean Cadillac in Miami, FL) for over two months with no completed repair and no timeline for resolution. Despite repeated communication, GM and the dealership have failed to provide a loaner vehicle o

The extended downtime has caused significant business losses, disrupted transportation, and left me without safe vehicle access. I am also concerned about ongoing unresolved vehicle quality issues reported during warranty service visits, but my primary safety concern relates to the engine recall and loss of propulsion.Read more

The transmission needs a new valve body at 43,491 mile, and is available for inspection upon request. My safety was put at risk because I was driving on the highway at approximately 70mph, when all of a sudden I received a loss of power message on my dashboard along with the check engine light. The vehicle then shifted HARD into a lower gear and there was an obvious loss of power along with higher
... than normal RPMs and a severe loss of fuel economy. I had to pull over to the shoulder and turn off the vehicle for 10 minutes hoping that everything would be fine. I brought it in to the dealership today, and they confirmed that it's the transmission valve body. Previous symptoms have been hard shifts when shifting out of park, and occasional loss of power to the engine. I don't understand how it is possible for these parts to be back ordered if they are still manufacturing these transmissions for the newer 2025 models and soon to be 2026 Escalade models. This is a real safety issue aside from the engine recall fiasco that GM is under fire for. They need to be investigated for both the transmission and engine problems!Read more

I own a 2011 Cadillac SRX and have experienced a serious issue with the headlights. Over time, the headlights became extremely dim, making it difficult and dangerous to drive at night. The visibility is so poor that it creates a major safety

Despite the widespread nature of this issue and media coverage (including WSOC-TV Channel 9’s investigation), there has been no recall or extended warranty to cover the cost of repairs, which can be significant. I am writing to formally raise a serious safety concern regarding my Cadillac SRX. For over a year, the ABS warning light has remained on in the vehicle. After taking it to an authorized dealership for diagnostics and repair, I was informed that the required part to resolve this issue is on backorder and is no longer being manufactured. This is highly concerning given that the ABS (Anti-lock Brak
... ing System) is a critical safety feature designed to prevent the wheels from locking up during braking, especially in emergencies. Driving without a functioning ABS increases the risk of accidents, making the vehicle unsafe to operate under normal driving conditions. I would like to address the following points: 1. Why is a critical safety-related part no longer being manufactured for a vehicle still in operation? 2. What is the manufacturer's plan for resolving safety concerns such as this, especially when replacement parts are unavailable? 3. Am I entitled to any form of compensation, replacement, or buyback under warranty or consumer protection laws? 4. What steps are being taken to ensure other affected Cadillac SRX owners are notified and protected? Given the severity of this issue, I have also filed a formal safety complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). I am also researching whether there is an open class action lawsuit or grounds for legal action due to the manufacturer's failure to support critical components of this vehicle. While backing up I had situations where the automatic brakes would engage although there was no obstruction behind the car. To stop this from happening, I had to turn this feature off. I brought the car in for service (Ed Morse Cadillac in Delray Beach, Florida) and was given a Cadillac Service Bulletin that acknowledged this was a problem with 2023-2025 cadillacs and there was no fix for this p
... roblem. They suggest that I do what I had done- turn it off. I feel this is not an adequate response. This is a very important safety feature that helps to insure that motorists will not hit objects while going in reverse, and more importantly will not hit a person or child, possibly causing severe injuries. Cadillac should find a way to fix this issue before someone is killed because of this.Read more
