2015 Cadillac SRX with 87,397 has a failed Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) or ABS module. It can be made available for inspection upon request. Alexander Cadillac of Oxnard refuses to repair it stating a replacement part is no longer available (it can be repaired by a specialty repair company). They cite liability by using after market or repaired parts. Without a functioning EBCM - A
... BS,power steering and traction control do not work which puts me and others at risk. Worse, the failed EBCM is now causing the car to go into "limp mode", which cuts power to the engine and prevent acceleration. When making a turn onto a street, it suddenly went into limp mode and I was almost hit by an approaching semi-truck. The problem was identified by Alexander of Oxnard service center - but they refuse to make any effort to remedy the problem. There are multiple blogs on the internet citing similar systemic issues with the EBCM that is no longer manufactured but can be repaired by a specialty shop. Lights on the dash first started to appear in September 2024. Lights include ABS, Brake and traction control / stability light. New lights started to appear in June 2025 including Check Engine, headlamp and auto-parking symbols. Alexander Cadillac of Oxnard cites that the EBCM is drawing too much current and causing issues to other systems on the car - a cascading effect. I am very afraid to drive the car and fear that it will lose power when needed, stall or the brakes will lock up.Read more

Vehicle must have thought a shadow line in the road from a bridge indicated a wall I was about to hit, as it slammed on the breaks in the middle of the freeway. Car behind had to swerve to avoid. On the same trip, several nags of 'keep eyes on the road' were incorrect, as my eyes were directly on the road, but phone was in hand functioning as a microphone taking voice memos. Car proceeded to shut
... itself down while in the middle of the freeway, causing me to go slower than traffic and put me in danger as cars behind me had to swerve or lane change to avoid me as I tried to pull off to the shoulder. These forced shutdowns from incorrect 'nag fails' are causing safety issues. Nag failures should not forcibly shut the car down. Not sure if this is being enforced by NHTSA, or why Tesla is choosing to disable their auto steer or FSD when drivers are detected to be failing nags - nags should be there to help drivers, and potentially the nag data/cab video can be used after the fact should a user failing nags be involved in an accident for insurance dispute resolution, but shutting the cars down themselves is causing issues.Read more

The "Auto Hold" feature on my Hyundai Ioniq malfunctioned, displaying a dashboard warning: "AUTO HOLD conditions not met. Press brake pedal." In some cases, the car rolls after stopping because the system fails to hold the vehicle. This issue compromises vehicle
... safety, especially on inclines or during stop-and-go traffic. It puts me, passengers, and other drivers at risk. The problem has occurred multiple times and is unpredictable. It appears to be linked to a faulty brake switch or sensor, as noted in Hyundai’s TSB 23-BR-001H. I discovered this issue is affecting many other Hyundai Ioniq owners, as seen in this discussion: [XXX] The dealer has not yet inspected the vehicle, but the symptoms match the TSB. No accident has occurred, but the safety risk is serious due to brake failure behavior. There were no visible warning lights before the issue started, just the "Auto Hold" message when the failure happens. I bought the car from a used car dealer when it had 39,000 miles. I am reporting a recurring safety issue with the DPS6 dual-clutch automatic transmission in my 2012 Ford Focus (VIN: [XXX] ). The vehicle intermittently fails to shift beyond 3rd gear while in motion, resulting in loss of acceleration and inability to maintain safe highway speeds. The most recent incident occurred in July 2025 while my son was driving. The car would not upshift past 3rd gear, forc
... ing him to pull off the road. We took the vehicle to a Ford dealership, which ran diagnostics and ultimately identified diagnostic trouble code P2832: “Shift Fork B Position Sensor Circuit Low.” This error points to failure of the clutch actuator assembly, a key component of the DPS6 system. The dealership linked the issue to internal transmission component failure but stated the original warranty repair had already been used and no coverage was currently open. Ford Customer Relationship Center advised us to have the dealer submit through the Specialty Recall Program and to file a safety complaint with NHTSA. This failure is consistent with the issues outlined in Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 16-0109, which addresses shuddering, hesitation, and shifting failure in Ford’s DPS6 transmission due to actuator and clutch contamination. The vehicle previously underwent warranty repair for transmission issues, and this is a repeat failure tied to the same known defect. This defect affects drivability and safety, especially for younger or less experienced drivers. Ford has acknowledged the defect in class action settlements and internal bulletins, but is denying coverage in this case. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this ongoing pattern of failure and pressure Ford to address these safety risks before they result in serious injury. Incident date: Jul 5, 2025
I am experiencing the well known "shift to park message" while the shifter is in park. I cannot turn the vehicle off and I am worried the battery will die. This is a well documented issue with this vehicle, and several other models outlined in TSB 19-NA-206, for years and yet they refuse to issue a recall to repair the faulty design or component . I have reached out to them via email, but no actio
... n has been taken, see email below. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GM Customer Care, I am writing to request assistance regarding an issue with my 2020 Chevy Blazer VIN# [XXX] . This is my fourth new GM vehicle, and while it is currently outside the 36-month warranty period, the vehicle has only 18,800 miles on it. Recently, the vehicle began displaying a persistent "Shift to Park" message on the Driver Information Center, despite the gearshift being in the Park position. As a result, the vehicle remains in the ON position and cannot be turned off. This is a well-documented issue affecting several GM models, including the Blazer, Acadia, Malibu, Traverse, and Volt. For reference, please see TSB 19-NA-206 attached. Repair costs for this issue appear to vary widely, sometimes exceeding $1,000 depending on location and dealership. Given that this appears to be a known design or component issue, I do not believe this should be an out-of-pocket expense for the customer. As a long-time GM customer, I respectfully request that GM cover the cost of this repair. I am disappointed that there has been no proactive recall or service campaign, especially considering the volume of customer complaints reported online. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response and hope GM will stand behind its products in this matter. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more
