... is was due to an injector breaking off inside the engine, sending metal fragments into the camshaft, which subsequently locked the motor. This created an extremely dangerous situation as the vehicle became unresponsive and unstable at high speed. Just two days prior to this incident, the vehicle had been serviced by Quantrell Cadillac in Lexington, KY, where a recall repair involving the engine was performed. Despite that service, a catastrophic failure occurred almost immediately afterward. After the breakdown, Quantrell Cadillac attempted repairs over the course of three weeks. These repairs included replacing the injectors, camshaft, and other components, before eventually replacing the entire long block. However, upon picking up the vehicle, it is exhibiting the exact same failure symptoms again—making a popping noise, stalling the engine, and becoming unsafe to operate. This vehicle is clearly not safe to drive and poses a serious risk to myself, my passengers, and others on the road. There have already been multiple recalls related to this issue, indicating a broader systemic problem. We are requesting the NHTSA’s immediate assistance to investigate this safety issue and help us obtain a replacement vehicle that meets all applicable federal safety standards. ... tate. Prior to the failure, the vehicle exhibited a progressive knocking noise in the engine. After seizing, the vehicle would struggle to start, idle briefly, then stall. It also randomly shut off while driving, creating a serious safety risk. The vehicle was taken to Precision Tune Auto Care, where technicians confirmed problems with the crankshaft, excessive oil consumption/leakage, and metal shavings in the oil, which they attributed to rod bearing and crankshaft wear consistent with Hyundai Campaign 203 (improperly heat-treated piston rings). Despite the KSDS being installed during the initial recall remedy, the system did not activate prior to engine failure. Additionally, no engine or oil warning lamps were illuminated. An oil change was performed at the time, but the vehicle had already burned through excessive amounts of oil since the prior change. Precision Tune Auto Care advised me to take the vehicle to Allen Turner Hyundai. At the dealership, staff confirmed issues with the engine but refused to acknowledge Recall Campaign 203, even when presented with documentation. They also failed to address the malfunctioning KSDS system or the lack of functioning engine/oil warning lamps. They were asked to perform inspection relating to piston ring and rod bearing, though refused. This situation raises major safety concerns, as my engine seized in the middle of traffic without warning. On 05/02/2024, I had the vehicle serviced for this specific issue. The dealer replaced the transmission shifter and control assembly at my expense, refusing to cover it under the powertrain warranty. The manufacturer (General Motors) is aware of this widespread defect and has issued Technical Service Bulletins (TSB #MC-10199243-9999) about it, yet they fail to treat it as the serious safety issue it is. The Dealer said: "Software update doesn't always fix the sudden downshift problem, unfortunately. You will have to pay to correct the sudden downshift problem. Replacing the rails should fix it. Estimate repair would be about 1300.

... ass. When attempting to pull out from a parking spot, another driver stopped to wait for me because they wanted my parking spot. My car stopped by itself, sounded a loud noise, steering wheel shook, my wife screamed at the noise, and I had to shift out of reverse and shift back into it and attempt to leave the parking spot. When driving in the mountains on curvy mountain roads, my eyes shift around a great deal to keep on top of the road and traffic conditions. This sets off the "its time to take a coffee break" announcement with accompanying dinging. This continues every few minutes until I am out of the mountains - it is distracting at the least. If the adaptive cruise has slowed the car down because of slower traffic ahead, and after a car passes in the outer lane, you pull into that lane to pass the slower car; but when you do, my car accelerates quickly to bring the speed up to the speed set on the cruise control. If the car that just passed is too close, this acceleration sends us hurling toward the other car. I would like the ability to turn these "safety" features OFF. But that is NOT POSSIBLE with the 2025 model - while it was in earlier models. Though I recently purchased this car, I am investigating other cars to replace it almost immediately because I want to be able to drive without these "safety" features making poor decisions and putting my life in danger.Read more

Despite multiple ignition coil replacements, repeated ECM flashes/reprogramming, and assurances that the most recent updates would permanently resolve the issue, my Crosstrek continues to suffer from clunking, rattling, difficulties accelerating, rough idling, and even complete stalling when idling or in hot temperatures. At my most recent visit to Bloomington Subaru, the ECM was not loaded with the current software, ECM C1424 and C1422 and Diag Trouble Code P0011 code. There are 5-7 Subaru bulletins about ECM and these codes. I had this b4 2yrs ago yet the dealership won’t assist with repairs or costs associated with this defective oil control valve part as well as the defective design in the ECM / ECU and this specific engine in the 2019 Crosstrek, of which is no longer produced or manufactured. Upon diagnosis, I was informed that the OnStar module had failed and would need to be replaced—at a cost of $822 out of pocket. OnStar is a core safety feature that GM actively promotes as part of the vehicle’s value and security. For such a critical system to fail in a vehicle that is barely two years old is unacceptable. I believe this constitutes a product defect that GM/OnStar should be held accountable for, especially since multiple consumers are reporting similar issues on public forums. Most of all I had no indication in the vehicle of the failure; there was no check engine or issue light indicating a failure. The battery has been checked and is fully charged and working properly. The ignition, alternator and transmission are all working properly in good condition. I believe the dealership sold me a “Lemon” vehicle. The initial CarFax report didn’t disclose any mechanical or electrical issues. I paid a $6000 downpayment and have paid $15,999.98 so far. My monthly car payment is $999.98. This car isn’t safe to drive and I am seeking a financial settlement of $20,000 and for the dealership to take back the car without a negative ding on my credit report and no voluntary repossession listed on my credit report. [XXX] my car completely shut down and no longer would start. I had a brand new battery installed a few days prior. Called AAA 4x’s and they couldn’t jump start my car. They tested the alternator, starter, and transmission and there were no failed sensors. I didn’t have any warning lights. Absent this and a listing in the SB of all applicable VINs, Honda can always indicate that a VIN isn't covered to avoid covering the repair costs, even though it should be. The car now shows a warning "Check Forward Safety System" and cruise control, understandably does not work. I have not had any collisions or accidents for this to occur. There seems to be no recall from Hyundai, however, this appears to be a safety issue that needs to be addressed by Hyundai.

I told them that under Federal Code 49 USC Subsection 30120 the manufacturer is required to repair such safety, they told me they couldn't help me and to go away, despite the clear language of this code. Therefore, I am filing this complaint against the Fiesta/ Ford Motor Company (not sure who exactly, I haven't done this before) to request reimbursement under federal law for defective safety equipment. I have a 2023 Nissan Titan XD 4x4. Recently I have experienced a major malfunction with the automatic braking system. While driving the vehicle I have experienced several times that the front left wheel is locking up briefly and pulling me sharply to the left. They take it for a short test drive and state everything is working properly. I explained this is a random problem and usually occurs when taking right hand curves and has caused me to lose control of the vehicle. Nothing has been done by the dealer to remedy the problem though most online forums point to a wheel speed sensor. I have also relayed that when its raining and this happens the front crash detector symbol illuminates briefly and I've shown them a picture taken from my cell phone.
