I was driving on the highway at 60mph on a 4 month old 2025 Porsche Macan Ev 4S. I turned off the AC for both driver and passenger. I suddenly started seeing increasingly larger clouds of black smoke coming out of the passenger side of the cabin, and a clear and increasing smell of something burning. There was no warning indicator, no message and no service required indicator on my dash. I did not receive any recall notices. I brought the car in to the Porsche Bellevue Service Center to get it serviced. The service attendant insisted that as the car was not reproducing the issue at that exact moment there was nothing they could do more than a visual inspection. I insisted and they agreed to investigate. They found an active Porsche bulletin for my vehicle, SY 828055 'Smoke and or a burnt odor from vents in the passenger compartment'. The service center did replace the passenger ac unit and this has not happened since. The attendant was clearly not trained on these bulletins as they kept denying anything could possibly be wrong with the car telling me 'we can't just take your car apart for a problem that happened once'. When this was in fact what needed to happen. A electric car that's 4 months old catching fire at 60mph on the highway is not normal. It's a major safety issue. If I hadn't lucked into turning the AC on I imagine this would have been a major fire on the freeway. Can you help bring this to Porsche's attention? There is a known transmission issue with some 2021 Toyota Highlanders, Avalons, and Camrys. Toyota Bulletin T-SB-008-21 from February of 2021 states 'Some 2021 model year Avalon, Highlander, and Camry vehicles equipped with UA80E or UA80F transmissions may exhibit a whine or grind noise from the transmission. This condition may be caused by an issue with the front carrier assembly pinion shafts'.

I am taking it to a local Toyota Dealer next week to confirm. I started a case online with Toyota USA, and since I'm over Warranty, they started that will not assist with reimbursement. My complaint is how came a recall was not done on this? Why did Toyota do nothing and now many of their customers with these vehicles face costly repairs ($7,000 - $12,000)? On the evening of 9/7/25, when the rear drivers side tire blew, there was little warning, the low tire pressure warning light came on and I felt the flat tire in less than one minute. You cannot hear anything said in the car by your fellow passenge

The only thing that works is a restart of the engine which can only be done by pulling over to a shoulder or another unsafe area of the road putting everyone in the car and other nearby cars at dangerous risk. The static noise is so loud, it completely takes over all of your driver senses and you'll be like a deer staring into headlights unable to do anything. In a recent incident, we (family including kid) were going in the left-most lane of a CA freeway when this started and in the ensuing 2 minutes I had to move over 3 lanes into the number 1 lane and stop at an unsafe curb near an exit in the evening and restart the car and go back home. This is traumatic everytime it happens and we have to plan for it. There are several people with the same issue complaining on social media (reddit/youtube) and they have evidence for the same in video format. 500+ posts and going [XXX] . Upon calling my usual service center, they did mention they saw similar problem recently, but it is not part of a recall and quoted me 250$ for diganosis and upwards of 1900$ for replacing the audio unit. My audio unit worked fine for 10 years, and I do no think this is an individual issue but a widespread one that triggers in this specific model of the vehicle. ... ctivated. I have attached an example photo of the Tesla screen taken while the car is being controlled by FSD. It shows the actual speed limit of the road is 35 MPH, and the car is traveling at a steady speed of 51 MPH. It also shows a “Max Speed” of 64 MPH which means the car may travel that fast on this road if it chooses to. Since I use an Offset of 10%, the Max Speed in this 35 zone should be 39 MPH. However, the car increased it to 64 MPH, and I certainly did not use the right scroll wheel to increase it. This is clearly a safety issue which can lead to accidents. Tesla has made 5 attempts to fix this without success. On the last attempt (September 24, 2025), they refused to answer my questions such as: Why does the Max Speed suddenly change to a value much higher than my specification? They simply stated that the system was operating as designed. Really? It’s design to drive 51 MPH in a 35 MPH zone? Furthermore, they went on to say I should disengage the FSD system or intervene manually if I believe the car is operating in an unsafe manner. One reason I purchased this car was for FSD. I would expect them to fix it rather than my having to abandon this feature that I pay for. I hope you will encourage Tesla to fix this issue before there are any more FSD-related accidents.Read more

I received one of these notices and took my car for the repair. I left my car with the dealership for 6 days. The dealership decided that they will not repair my car because they have determined my car has a "branded title." I purchased my vehicle used from an Auto Body Shop. My vehicle was declared to be salvaged. My engine/transmission/torque converter is the original on my Acura RDX. and was never damaged or repaired.
