I did not receive responses to my texts to the dealership asking for any updates, and Nyam Smith said in an email that I needed to get any updates from Volvo Customer Care. I called them to get an update but Pablo had no update and said he had to call the dealer! The Service Tech I had talked to on 1/5 about the car left me a voice mail at 5:05 PM on 1/5 stating that the foreman has been in contact with Volvo Engineering and that they had a few questions -- how many times had this issue occurred, how did I get the car to stop running and they requested a photo of the shoes I was wearing. I sent that photo that evening but I never received any response from numerous texts asking for a status. They have not provided a courtesy loaner for the past 15 days so I have had to incur incidental rental charges. 1/9/26, I spoke to Jocelyn at Volvo - she was unable to give any updates but she sent me a form (one of the questions asked where the vehicle was!) -- I emailed the completed form that same day but received no acknowledgement from them until 1/15. They sent me a form authorizing an investigation of my car. I have not received any further communication from Volvo Cust. Care or the dealer. Had towed to dealership. Dealership just confirmed to me that it will need to have engine replaced on January 19, 2026. There was no sign or symptoms right before the failure.

Took 2017 BMW 440i in for annual state inspection and maintenance. During inspection, service tech noticed that the plastic clip that holds the emergency brake lines in place had failed and needed to be replaced to prevent damage to the emergency brake cables. Service tech replaced the plastic clip with a metal bolt. My service advisor stated that a plastic clip should have never replaced a metal
... bolt that is used to protect the emergency brake cables. Have owned BMW’s since 1990 and numerous vehicles since 1968 when I obtained my driver’s license. Paid $804.47 to replace a plastic clip that would have cost nothing if a metal bolt had been used to start with. If the brake lines get damaged because the clip fails, you have no brakes on the vehicle. Spoke with BMW customer service and they said since the clip failed after the warranty period they would not reimburse the repair even though replacing a metal bolt on an emergency brake cable would prevent failure. A car that is garaged and only has 13,263 miles on it should not experience this type of failure. How many vehicles are on the road with failing plastic clips that allow brake lines to fail because a manufacturer decided to save money by taking a proven metal bolt and replacing it with plastic that fails with age.Read more

Each time they repair something different 1st- replace ABS module and hydraulic brake, 2nd - happened out of state at my mother funeral and replaced my ECM, 3rd couldn't figure it out and guessed it was my Forward collision camera and replaced it, 4th - is today and awaiting dealership diagnosis. This issue has left me stranded several times local and long distance, occured in middle of driving including on highway, and overall uncertain of the safety and reliability of the vehicle as each time it has been the same type of issue. I have been in communication with Hyundai Corporate since October and they stated that even tho I only have 24k miles on the vehicle that it is outside the state of IN lemon laws for a buyback. If I hadn't purchased an extended warranty I would be in even more debt or unable to put it in the shop even tho I don't feel like this should be my burden when I have kept this vehicle in great shape, low mileage, frequent oil changes, etc . however the safety of my vehicles goes unresolved. At this point I am uncertain that Hyundai is properly diagnosing my vehicle and not certain how these issues are impacting other components of my vehicle such as brakes, transmission, engine, sensors. I am the only owner of this vehicle bought brand new. I have checked repeatedly for any recalls that I have not addressed and at this time none are pending. Mileage on the F250 was 19,155. The service technician told me then that it needed a dual steering stabilizer but the Ford Company will not recognize the needed fix.
