The factory 2020 Subaru Outback Wagon is built with a Thermo Control Valve that is, essentially, made out of a composite plastic. As this part is part of the engine cooling system, it is placed under both heat and pressure. While it controls the anti-freeze to the heater core in the passenger compartment, it is also attached under cover to metal fittings. While the car now has about 90,000 mile
... s, this control valve cracked and began to leak anti-freeze on top of the engine. Without cooling, the engine would likely be ruined. Thus, the car required immediate service. When a fault like this occurs, by the way, the Subaru Eyesight System shuts down taking with it various safety features. I had the defective part replaced and it's replacement is not made of composite plastic but, rather and more appropriately, metal. It is my belief that the selection of the orignal part was a design defect ignoring the potential for differential expansion of the parts when exposed to such temperatures. Failure was inevitable. It is worth noting this is not an inexpensive repair as numerous parts have to be removed to access this valve. Likewise, the service representative made note that numerous other customers have had to have the same service.Read more

Hyundai has failed to remedy recall 235 within a reasonable amount of time, and is misreporting the stats of completed repairs related to this recall. They state that owner notification letters and dealer instructions were mailed May 2023 and that "dealers will install a new fuse and wire extension kit, as necessary, free of charge." Yet, the dealerships I've contacted do not have the replacement
... parts and have not been able to repair my vehicle despite many inquiries. I have inquired with Hyundai USA about this permanent recall remedy and they have been unable to assist. They refer me back to the dealership, and the dealership refers me back to Hyundai USA with no remedy in site. The quarterly report stats are misleading, as my car and others have had this recall marked as "completed" when in fact only the inspection and interim fix to remove the 40A fuse was completed, not the permanent fix they claimed to have ready in May 2023. All the interim fix did was disable the power supplied to the tow hitch, so brakes and turn signals will not function on trailers, which is a road hazard. This is not a repair, it renders your tow hitch inoperable in a safe manner. While Hyundai USA reported to NHTSA back in May 2023 that they had a permanent fix including a replacement 15A fuse and new wire harness parts available, it is just not accurate. It is over a year since they publicly announced the tow hitch harness recall 235 and more than 5 months since they announced the permanent repair, yet any dealership I contacted was unable to perform the repair and said they were not supplied with the recall replacement parts. No alternative recall remedies have been given either. This recall needs to be remedied in actuality, not just on a piece of paper. So many owners like myself have exhausted means of contacting Hyundai, yet are still left with an unrepaired recall. It is unsafe and deplorable that they are publicly releasing inaccurate recall data in their favor.Read more

Good morning, I am the proud owner of a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Hybrid, which is one of 4 I have owned over the majority of decade. While I obviously have put my trust in Ram for a really long time, that trust has been being betrayed since I have owned this one. In the last 6-months alone, my Ram has been down awaiting one spare part or another. Parts that Ram recognized as a problem shortly afte
... r the 2019 Hybrid 1500 was released and made several mid-model-year engineering changes, but never issued a recall, and because those replacement parts like the New Alternator Harness, are only just now being released with most having a 6-12 week lead time. The Alternator Harness being one of the parts that my Ram has been waiting on now for more than a month. That said, if that had of been the only problem, there’s a strong probability that I wouldn’t have mentioned it! With this being the 3rd time in 2023 and another on late 2022, and not having the new (used) Ram I just bought and pay $850 a month for (not including insurance), and it with it seeming to be more of a systemic issue, with literally thousands of people dealing with similar issues on their 2019 and it’s something that needs to be addressed, as even if it wasn’t thousands, but only hundreds, or even 1-person having these issues, if Ram saw these as significant enough issues, that they felt it necessary to re-engineer them, then Ram’s customers shouldn’t be stuck paying out their hard earned money, for vehicle that should have never been released with the original parts design. In the instance with my 2019 Ram, having it be out of commission for almost have 2023 is hard yo chew! Especially when it has less than 50,000-miles, with only roughly 10,000 coming since I bought it in October 2021. When you add the fact that Ram redesigned the number of parts they did, then never did a recall, but still force the Customers to pay for those parts! My car was purchased Aug 2022. In Nov. 2022 we took a short trip. I believe 5 or 6 times the car braked for no reason. I believe it is called phantom braking. One or two times it was a hard brake that I believe could cause an accident if someone was behind me, or the wrong person driving. It was sudden and hard in those two situations. I took the car in and after they drove it two miles they told
... me there were no issues. Then in June 2023 we went on a long trip. I do not use autopilot, this is only cruise control. On this trip probably between 35 to 45 times we experienced the same issues. At least 5 times they were hard brakes and could cause an accident. I again opened a service visit to Tesla. Again, they drove the car 5 miles and claimed there is nothing wrong. I did not accept this answer and asked for the GM. Finally after demanding this for 20 or so minutes a man came and said he was the manager. He also argued in the beginning but when I told him I have found accidents caused by this he finally admitted that it was something called "phantom braking" and that that it should be fixed very soon with an update. So then again, in August my wife and I went on another trip. It still is happening and probably 6 or 7 times this occurred. It seems to mostly be on smaller 2 lane highways and occurs usually when there are no cars, trucks, or anything nearby. But all it would take is a tailgater to cause a wreck. In August when we returned I made another warranty appointment her in Las Vegas and immediately they cancelled the visit on my app. They are lying about what is occurring and telling me that it is usually when I am following too close or some garbage like that, which is absolutely not true. I just made another appt today but I am sure they will cancel it. What do I do. I really want to go through Nevada Lemon law at this point. My name is [XXX] and my phone is [XXX] .
