I was driving and my car just randomly slammed on the breaks going through an intersection. There were no cars ahead of me for my car to use the brake censor and there were no cars behind me so I was lucky and did not get rear ended. This happened for a split second then my car was normal again. It stopped so quick and the car made a noise at the same time. I was concerned on why it did that
... so I went down and turned around and drove that path again. It did not do it again the 2nd time and there was nothing in the road that should of made my car brake on it's own. Lucky I was not going so fast and not on the highway. I have reported it to Honda and there are no recalls on my VIN at this time per Honda.Read more

On [XXX] I was I came out of a store and made a right turn to enter onto a very very busy bustling street. As I tried to accelerate, my car had absolutely no acceleration and just stopped. I pulled into a vacant lot and drove around and decided to try it again. The same thing happened. I was surrounded by cars going 80 mph and this could have gone very wrong. I called for a tow…they came the nex
... t day. I did not see any messages on the dash but I was so panicked I could have missed it. They could not recreate the problem at the dealership. North Charleston said they could not recreate this….they've had my car since 12/18/2023. I’ve been in touch with genesis corporate and she’s calling me today. Her name is Dea and her tn is 714/798/9904. There was a recall of 19, 222 gv70’s, 80’s and 90’s back in 2022. This is a very serious situation. My vehicle is just shy of 4 months old and I’m leasing this. I’m afraid to drive for fear I’ll get in a very serious accident if not killed. The teks are plugging this into the diagnostic machine and no errors are coming up but my car has been at the dealership for almost three weeks with no resolve. North Charleston wants their loaner back. I’ve been in touch with Columbia genesis where I leased the vehicle and they’re telling me they can’t do anymore then what North Charleston has done. Why can’t they go in and look at the engine, the battery, the fuel injection system, the fuel pump? I feel like they consider this negligible because they can’t duplicate it. This is not acceptable to me. Dea from corporate told me if nothing came up on the diagnostic machine they wouldn’t take it any further. That’s very very frightening to me. Thank you for your consideration. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The vehicle's paint is literally peeling away from every horizontal and connected vertical surface. ... hicles for years and Honda knows it to be an issue yet only occasionally offers to be of any assistance. I am the original owner of this 2012 Honda Pilot, the vehicle has never been in an accident, yet in the past year paint has come off of the vehicle at an alarming rate (literally in sheets). To be able to make necessary restorations the front window was broken and had to be replaced (at my expense). If Honda knows its Pearl White paint doesn't adhere to the metal body, that is a known product defect and they are potentially contributing to accelerated body deterioration (a safety concern). I have all current documentation for the restoration, and upon attempting to pick up the vehicle it was discovered that the hood was sustaining the same problem as the roof and upper body. There are no impacted "warning" lights as this is not mechanical, and I am unclear how separating paint (according to our local Honda dealer is always Pearl White) poses an immediate safety problem for me or others, but if you are not aware that Honda dealers know the Pearl White paint is defective, what else are they not telling you/us about our vehicle and the vehicles owned by hundreds of thousands of Americans? Please conduct your own investigation and contact me if you'd like copies of our correspondence with Honda USA and the original estimate versus the final bill ($1000 more) for the first round of re-painting. We now are having a second round of painting to address the paint failure on the hood. Thank you.Read more

I am writing to bring to your attention a persistent issue I have been facing with my 2014 BMW i3, VIN: [XXX] . Unfortunately, I have been experiencing an airbag and/or seatbelt alert problem identified as "Driver Restraint System Malfunction" with the error code 930904 displayed on the dashboard. I have attached supporting documentation, including images and information from the BMW Service Bulle
... tin, which clearly outlines that the error code 930904 is a known and routine problem for my specific vehicle model, thus a Service Bulletin was issued by BMW, as you can see attached from BMW’s website. It has come to my attention, through online forums and discussions within the BMW i3 community, that others have successfully resolved this issue under the terms of the service bulletin, but for some reason I keep getting the runaround. Regrettably, despite my efforts to address this matter with BMW USA on three separate occasions since October 2023, I have not received a satisfactory resolution. Instead, I have been redirected to BMW Authorized Dealerships, where I am faced with unjustifiable diagnostic fees and repair costs. It is perplexing to me that other members of the BMW community have had their issues resolved under the service bulletin at no cost, while I am being subjected to unnecessary expenses. To provide you with a clear overview: 1. The error code 930904 is documented in the BMW Service Bulletin for my 2014 BMW i3 REX. 2. Other BMW i3 owners have successfully had this issue resolved under warranty through the service bulletin. 3. BMW USA and its authorized dealerships have been uncooperative in acknowledging and addressing this known issue. I visited my local BMW dealership in Rochester, NY, on 10-10-23, only to be informed that they could not locate the referenced code and insisted on charging me a diagnostic fee and an additional $1,800 for the repair. I currently own a 2020 Buick Encore since new with only 18,389 miles on it. Recently, I noticed on the Buick Encore that it lacked stopping power. Upon checking the air in the tires for winter I noticed that the rear brake rotors were severely rusted. And then I decided to further inspect the rotor surfaces. I removed the left rear tire and noticed that the back side surface was severely corroded
... therefore inhibiting the brake pad to stop with it. I remove the right rear tire and found the same condition! As I am retired, and still a ASE and Michigan master mechanic (XXX) I know this condition is abnormal for a vehicle with such low miles even in Michigan. This is my wife’s vehicle, and she noticed that the stopping distance was severely decreased over the months. With driving is treacherous as it is today she needs all the stopping distance that she can get. With the way the rotors were rusted, the rear brakes had no stopping power, and the fronts were minimal at best for surface for the pads to stop with. I checked the front and found the same thing on the inner surfaces of both front rotors. I decided it was time that I replace all the rotors and the pads as the surfaces of all rotors were beyond the point of turning them. I would never expect this to occur on a vehicle with such low mileage. I replaced the rotors and pads with all AC Delco components as I have faith in the design changes that are usually made to products in the same product family. For the rotors, I made sure that they were plated to stop any rust from occurring on the non-stopping surfaces. If anyone were to Google this vehicle, or it’s Cousin the Trax, you can see there are replacements either with coding or different material that prevents corrosion. I am glad I caught this in time as my wife’s safety was in jeopardy. One can see there is a fix for this issue, but the manufacture neglected to take any action to correct it. Delay in acceleration. It is an intermittent issue. Noise when gear is changed. Coming from a stop or slow down, pushing the accelerator pedal slightly, the car does not respond. Pushing the accelerator pedal further down the car jerks(responds), accelerates but faster than needed/desired. The accelerator pedal needs to be released, push the pedal again to increase the speed to as needed/desire

My dealer could not help me either but offered to check the car out for $ 200 bucks. No engine light is/comes on. This is an intermittent issue, so duplicating does not seem to work. I work for this company and I'm thoroughly disgusted. We cannot re-register the vehicle out of Connecticut until this issue is resolved. If we chose the sale of the vehicle, we would have to provide the purchaser a clear and registerable vehicle. Without your assistance in the resolution of this matter that would be impossible to do.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Available for inspection upon request. Please do! Loss of power. Reported same issues a year ago. Brought to dealership, sold on other services that did not solve problem. Opened a case with Hyundai. No solution. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Random loss of power. Hyundai
... rep stated it’s a problem their systems do not actually scan for so it’s common this won’t appear in inspection reports. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Dealer rep drove my car and mentioned he noticed it tries to accelerate when idle, but without a code he can’t do anything about it. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? A Hyundai dealership inspection was completed. Suggestion I buy a new engine. I declined since the multiple repairs paid for already were supposed to fix the problem, but they didn’t. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights for anything in over a year but I am still dealing with same loss of power and acceleration control issues.Read more

... loss of oil pressure. After removing my oil pan, the tensioner was found in the oil pan along with most of the oil pump belts teeth. Ford's recommendation is an engine replacement. Ford recommends replacing the wet belts at 150,000 miles with most failing quite prematurely This failure can happen at any time or speed causing total loss of power or catastrophic engine damage making it a safety concern for the driver as well as others.Read more
