While accelerating onto the freeway the vehicle suddenly loses power creating a serious safety issue. A check-engine light comes on but the safefy issue is that the vehicle goes into a power loss mode ON THE FREEWAY. A truck nearly rear-ended me the first time it happened. Toyota Service was unable to duplicate and so said National Toyota advised them to release the vehicle back to me. The same i
... ssue happened to my boyfriend and his son - total loss of power while accelerating onto the freeway. Then a mechanic recreated the issue 5 additional times (usually in the dawn hours when traffic was light due to safety concerns). Was unable to find the cause of the issue but a loss of power in a vehicle is as serious a concern as an unwanted acceleration. I am frustrated that Toyota is not taking this seriously.Read more

Travel Assist is disabled which includes Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist. The warning lights flash on and off, sometimes multiple times a second, sounding a loud beeping each time. It is triggered at engine start and persists through all speeds. I have experienced it 0-70 mph. The flashing lights and associated rapid beeping indicating the failure is extremely distracting while drivin
... g. Warning lights and warning sounds are designed to alert the driver to a potential safety issue so ignoring the lights and sounds is dangerous in the event it is a different caution/warning. However, also not ignoring it is dangerous because of the frequency of the warnings which causes the driver to look away from the road. After speaking with the maintenance department at my VW dealership, they indicated that this is a widely known problem that is remedied only with the replacement of the steering wheel. There are several other sensors that are triggered by the same issue I was told by the maintenance department. They are uncertain at this time if it impacts the airbag system which is another potential safety concern. The steering wheel can only be ordered after inspection by the maintenance department and there is shortage and/or back order of the part to fix the problem.Read more

The components that failed are the engine and transmission and parts associated with the functionality of these parts. It is currently in the shop but will be available for inspection upon request once repairs are complete. My safety and others were put at risk when these malfunctions occurred (driving incredibly slow on the highway could cause an accident, accelerator malfunctioning that might br
... eak, broken down late at night hours from home, parts catching fire from leaking oil, etc.). The problems have been acknowledged by my warranty company and the two repair shops that have serviced it. My car was inspected by Geico Insurance Company after I got rear-ended and needed to file a claim, however, the inspection was not specifically on my engine/transmission. The warning dash lights didn’t seem to come on until it was too late, especially during the transmission issue. I was driving around for days leading up to this issue thinking it was acting weird because it was due for an oil change but when I got one and nothing improved, I knew something was wrong. The check engine light did not come on until the car started to actively shut down and not move when I pressed the gas. The full detailed complaint is attached and receipts for repairs are available upon request. Attached is an overview of parts and pricing from the warranty company for the two claims.Read more

I am writing to bring to your attention a critical safety concern regarding the Toyota Tundra, specifically related to the rear tailgate functionality. It has come to my attention, and I have personally experienced, that the rear tailgate of the Toyota Tundra can unexpectedly open while the vehicle is in drive mode if the key fob is accidentally pressed. This poses a significant safety risk to no
... t only the driver but also to any passengers and other drivers on the road. The unintended opening of the tailgate can lead to cargo falling out onto the road, causing accidents and potentially endangering lives. I believe that this issue warrants immediate attention and investigation by the National Transportation Safety Authority (NTSA). It is imperative that Toyota addresses this issue promptly to prevent any potential accidents or injuries. I urge the NTSA to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and work with Toyota to implement a solution that ensures the rear tailgate remains securely closed while the vehicle is in motion. Additionally, I recommend that Toyota issues a safety recall to rectify this potentially hazardous defect. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that the NTSA will take appropriate action to address this safety concern and ensure the safety of all road users.Read more

I purchased a used 2018 CRV in January/February 2024. It came with a recall notice. This is concerning and I do not believe I am being told the truth regarding the availability of parts needed for them to comply with the recall repair.

Here are some basic facts on what has happened: On August [XXX] I was in my driveway, in Mt Pleasant, SC, when my car rolled down my driveway with my two kiddos inside, resulting in me reacting and getting knocked over by the driver side door and the car running over my chest. I had 5 broken ribs, 4 are now titanium, several broken bones, a punctured lung and a torn acl. There is a police repor

This safety recall came out on March 26th saying cars rolled away and they are updating software so cars do not move with car doors open. Kia is also stating there have been 16 cases not resulting in injuries. The Kia I had is a 2021 within this range and the VIN is [XXX] . The full type of this tire is Continental ContiProContact P215/55 R18 94H Also DOT is IP5 OF8PAO 5323. Note there are two letter "O". Either one or both of those could be the number 0. I cannot tell the difference on my tire. When I was driving in a parking lot I heard a loud noise and did not know what it was. I did not think to look at my instrumental panel so I drove around a half mile home
... . Then I noticed the TPMs warning and saw that the tire was completely flat. I saw sidewall damage that look like something cut into my side wall or perhaps that was the blowout. It was cut about a half inch or inch long in the outside sidewall of the tire. The tire only had about 821 miles on it. I check the pressure consistently and it always was the proper pressure as specified by the vehicle door jamb. Also my vehicle shows me the exact tire pressure when on the instrument panel. I checked it the morning before the blowout happened and the tire pressures were fine. Also I look at my tire pressure almost every time I drive (about every day) using the tire pressure indication on my instrument panel. I never hit any potholes or any curbs. The tire looked normal and felt fine when I was driving on it (until the blowout of course). Also according to the DOT it was manufactured late 2023 so it does not sound like dry rot. This seems like it could either be a manufacturing defect or installation defect of some sort. A blowout obviously is a safety risk since this could have happened on a busy highway. Luckily I got home safely. When I brought it in to the dealer for repair they thought maybe something hit the tire from the outside. I believe the dealer got rid of the tire so it would not be available for inspection. No warning before the failure occurred.Read more

I have severe safety concerns about the malfunction of the vehicle’s regenerative braking system. Please note that Fisker has responded to customer feedback and issued an over-the-air software update to improve the regenerative system, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is still investigating the braking problems.Read more

Three of the six fuel injectors on a 2019 Honda Pilot failed, with Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0430, P0300, P0304, P0306, and P219A, resulting in the vehicle requiring transportation via tow truck to an independent service center. Research into the history of 2019 Honda Pilots indicates that 2019 model-year vehicles within a certain VIN number range, along with all 2018-2019 Honda Odysseys, 2016-20
... 18 Honda Pilots, and 2017-2019 Honda Ridgelines, had their warranties extended for fuel injectors to 10 years from original date of purchase or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. See Honda Service Bulletin 20-100. The issue is that some 2019 Honda Pilots are failing with these DTC codes, but are not covered by the warranty extension. The problem was diagnosed by an independent service center and we were directed to Honda for further diagnostic and possible warranty service. A technician at the service center stated that he had never seen a customer have to pay for fuel injector replacement on a Honda Pilot from 2016-2019 model years that developed this problem. Regardless, Honda insists that this vehicle is not covered by the warranty extension and required us to pay for the repair ourselves. My family and I were temporarily without a usable vehicle, because our other vehicle was undergoing scheduled maintenance at the time of the failure. Prior to the failure, all of the warning lamps on the vehicle would occasionally illuminate at vehicle start up, but the vehicle operated normally, and the warning lamps stopped illuminating after a few start ups. The warning lamps that would simultaneously illuminate were all of the ADAS systems available on this vehicle, as well as things like Hill Start Assist, Traction Control, Emissions, and the Anti-Lock Braking System. So many errors were simultaneously reported on the dashboard that our service center believed that the problem might be an intermittent Engine Control Computer problem in addition to the issue listed above.Read more

Just this last year EVERYTHING with the suspension and tires were completely normal and healthy! Within that year only putting 10k miles on it, never been off roading or drive crazy- we both have a great driving record. So, all of this is absolutely sudden and worried for our safety. The car has NEVER notified us of low tire pressure at anytime, ever. Having the Honda service center telling us the tires have "adnormal wear pattern of tires" (all of which is, inner wear). Not allowing us to get the normal tire rotation due to that and the tread depth measure was unevenly worn. Just a reminder, not one of the sensors have NEVER alerted us- other than due for oil change. We went in thinking oil change and most safety recall repair would be it. Bridgestone tires P245/60/R18, is the brand we currently have and need to replace immediately. Luckily there were no cars behind me and I was right by the entrance of a subdivision. I was able to turn into the entrance of the subdivision and the car basically stopped by the stop sign, kind of like dead. I was blocking the road and had to restart to car. But luckily I was able to restart and then there was only one warning messages left, the brake (please see photo). It says " Brake system problem, Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer". It was after 7 pm and I didn't think the repair department was open. So I took a photo and slowly drove to Abita Spring. After parked my car for maybe two hours and I then restarted the car, everything seems ok. No warning lights at all. So I drove back home.
