Imthe original owner and purchased the car new 4 years ago. At 89,000 miles, the check engine light came on indicating codes for emission controls not working efficiently. Later additional codes indicated problems with the fuel evaporator. When I was told to pick up my car, I asked what was found to cause the brake failure and to highlight the fix in the receipt. I then took it to the Buick dealer,BICAL, and they found a serious issue. The brake vacuum pump had frozen and had actually disintegrated and no longer was functional. Parts from the pump entered the valve shaft area also. The end result was a $3,000 repair bill. The important issue here is the driver safety on the road.Although this was only occasional and at low speeds left unattended would lead to a total brake failure with major consequences and major fatalities!! God only know how many major accidents occurred with major consequences without anyone knowing the true source of the accident details. The full type of this tire is Continental ContiProContact P215/55 R18 94H Also DOT is IP5 OF8PAO 5323. Note there are two letter "O". Either one or both of those could be the number 0. I cannot tell the difference on my tire. When I was driving in a parking lot I heard a loud noise and did not know what it was. I did not think to look at my instrumental panel so I drove around a half mile home
... . Then I noticed the TPMs warning and saw that the tire was completely flat. I saw sidewall damage that look like something cut into my side wall or perhaps that was the blowout. It was cut about a half inch or inch long in the outside sidewall of the tire. The tire only had about 821 miles on it. I check the pressure consistently and it always was the proper pressure as specified by the vehicle door jamb. Also my vehicle shows me the exact tire pressure when on the instrument panel. I checked it the morning before the blowout happened and the tire pressures were fine. Also I look at my tire pressure almost every time I drive (about every day) using the tire pressure indication on my instrument panel. I never hit any potholes or any curbs. The tire looked normal and felt fine when I was driving on it (until the blowout of course). Also according to the DOT it was manufactured late 2023 so it does not sound like dry rot. This seems like it could either be a manufacturing defect or installation defect of some sort. A blowout obviously is a safety risk since this could have happened on a busy highway. Luckily I got home safely. When I brought it in to the dealer for repair they thought maybe something hit the tire from the outside. I believe the dealer got rid of the tire so it would not be available for inspection. No warning before the failure occurred.Read more

Have been experiencing brake malfunction on my 2018 Buick Encore with the brakes getting locked while driving. There were instances where the brakes would lock randomly and the vehicle would start slowing down during driving even with a foot on the gas pedal and I had to turn on the hazards lights to pull the vehicle on the side in order to avoid being rear ended. ... hip and initial diagnostics mentioned that the brake pedal position sensor was malfunctioning and would need a replacement. Agreed to replace that, but after this repair dealership claimed that there was a loose pivot in the brake pedal assembly causing the brake light to be on(Did not have this issue before taking the vehicle to dealership). Since the vehicle was not in a driving condition due to the brake light being "ON" all the time, as per the dealership suggestion I agreed to replacing the entire brake pedal assembly as well. However, the original issue was not resolved and the dealership is now recommending that replacing the master brake cylinder and brake booster might resolve the issue. The dealership has also mentioned that all these recommended repairs are from GM and my vehicle is still at the dealership.Read more

I have not driven my car after dark Jan 113. I am terrified that it will happen again. I keep having more things go wrong. display, collision, lane assist. i have picture of some of the incidents. I bought my car, new, on 10/1/ 2023. The middle of November i noticed the headlights randomly dimming. On 12/3/23 I to the dealership to have them looked at. I was told there was nothing wrong but make an appt. they had my car 3 times in less than 2 months. I repeatedly told them my headlights were dimming and or going off. On Jan 13 after taking my daughter to the airport my headlights went of
... f as i was merging on to hiway at 6:30vam. at that point i filed a complaint with GM.. They won't do anything because the dealer said the lights function'.
