The turbo on my 2016 Buick Encore hasn't been working right for about a year. My engine light has been on consistently everyday for about 8 months. Within first couple months of ownership we had a wheel insert come off. We had it replaced at dealer Dec 2022 and noted it was two small bolts holding on the insert to actual wheel. The screws (2) appeared to have sheared off and are in line with brake rotors, calipers, and wheel itself when dislodging. The actual insert goes forward and can hit other cars and damage finish and other items as a
... projectile. We then had another do the same thing on different wheel 12 months later. Same issue. Same resolve as metal screws/bolts go directly into plastic insert which has no metal lining and no protection against breaking from stress, cleaning, and high speed turbulence thru this area. Less than a year later and we now have one missing insert that came off during highway, one loose we removed and found one bolt missing and sheered plastic, and a third one that is loose. Dealer will repair and replace under warranty but would not put on lift and check all inserts. There are approx 5 inserts per 18 inch wheel. This is a safety issue as the bolt will come out of fall into the wheel brake system. It could get lodged into calipers or pads and cause harm at least. These screw bolts are small but larger than anything nominal.Read more

My husband and I got this vehicle from a used dealership, which they did not tell my husband it had a recall on it before we got it or we never would have gotten it, on March 2,2024. I found out about the driver side airbag recall on March 21, 2024. I called GM dealership about the recall the same day I found out about it, and they ordered the part and told me they would call when the part came in
... . They called me back and we made the appointment to get the recall fixed on April 11,2024. On April 11,2024 I took our vehicle up to the gm dealership and got told that my vehicle recall wasn’t available yet, the recall was released for my vehicle in May of 2023. The lady that told me the recall wasn’t available yet said to call back on May 10, 2024. When I did they told me it still wasn’t available for our vehicle. I double checked the website on June 10, 2024, and it said there was no remedy available. Due to the driver side airbag being recalled and a big safety concern and I’ve got multiple children that ride in the vehicle as well and do NOT have another vehicle that will fit our whole family in it, I don’t really want to drive it around so nobody gets seriously injured if we were to get in a wreck, and I don’t want to put anyone else in danger by driving it around. I feel like it’s not being taken care of in a timely manner and the only reason I say that is because of the type of recall it has. I feel like the dealership doesn’t care about the safety of their customers. The dealership I took it to the people there were nice about everything so there wasn’t any issues there, it’s purely the fact that they don’t seem to know when the recall will be available, and don’t seem to be in any hurry either.Read more

The passenger airbag light started coming on and going off intermittently. After several weeks of this, it was on every time the car is driven. Testing by an ASE certified mechanic revealed that the permanent light results in no front seat airbags. The failed part is the seat presence sensor. The part is - and hasn't been for quite a while - manufactured by GM. Aftermarket parts are costly and the
... installation cost is in the hundreds of dollars. Research indicates that this is a well-known and long reported issue. Why not a recall years ago? Other than brakes and steering, could there be any more unsafe components than those affecting airbags? The only remedy other than continuously replacing the faulty part, is a bypass module. If it functions correctly, the airbag will deploy regardless of passenger weight. This puts any child or underweight rider in danger. And, of course, considering the expense, many owners will do nothing with possibly grave consequences. I think you "dropped the ball" big time on this one!Read more
