I have to restart the vehicle while stopped in active traffic lanes, which puts me and others at high risk of being hit. I am a single mom with 3 young children. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. A Buick dealership inspected the vehicle earlier this year. They observed the stalling issue but could not identify a single cause. They suggested possible repair attempts, but the issue has continued. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? It has only been inspected by a Buick dealership service department. No other agencies have inspected it. Were there any warning lights, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure? When did they first appear? No warning lights or messages appeared when it first happened. The problem began before I replaced the battery, and replacing the battery did not resolve the issue. Additional Description: When I come to a stop—at red lights, stop signs, or in traffic—the vehicle’s auto start-stop system activates like normal, but instead of restarting, the engine will completely shut off. I then lose power steering and braking support and must restart the car in the middle of the roadway. It is unpredictable and unsafe. If I were trying to unlock the doors due to an emergency, this delay would be an issue. I feel the unlock door button should always work. My 2024 CR-V EX-L FWD has roughly 37,000 miles on it, and the tires have been rotated per Honda's built-in "Maintenance Minder". The inner shoulder of all four tires are worn to the extent that they need to be replaced. The rear suspension suffers from excessive negative camber; It is visually discernable upon approaching the vehicle from behind. I asked the service advisor at my local dealership
... in League City, TX, what they could do about it, since the rear camber is non-adjustable, and his response was that in situations like this, they recommend installation of aftermarket adjustable upper control arms. They, of course, do not install those parts, and, he even indicated that once those were installed, they would no longer perform any alignment of the vehicle. Additionally, that would void any warranty of any rear suspension components. I have since discovered Honda TSB 20-081 for 2017-2020 CRVs (https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10181080-0001.pdf). I know, via comparison of part numbers on honda parts websites, that 2017-2026 CR-V's all share many of the same rear suspension components. Therefore, I think this is a situation where there is an overarching issue in the suspension design used on the 5th and 6th generation CR-V (and therefore, also their contemporaries - Civic, Accord, HR-V, Clarity, and Acura Integra, which also share components with this design). Additionally, the rear of my CR-V looks to be 'sagging', and knowing how suspension geometry functions, it leaves me thinking that perhaps the springs specified for the FWD CR-V (at least) may be too short or have too light of a spring rate, permitting this 'sag', which would then not only result in more negative camber but also increase the toe measurements as well, which would also negatively affect tire life.Read more

I am still making payments on this vehicle, which is barely five years old. I previously owned a Honda for 20 years without encountering issues like this. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve faced a manufacturer-documented defect with no support. My previous vehicle, a Mitsubishi Outlander, suffered from a known transmission issue that was later part of a class action lawsuit. Despite experiencing the same symptoms, my VIN was excluded. The cost of repair outweighed the value of the vehicle, and I ultimately had to walk away from it as a total loss—leaving me without a car. This failure occurred without warning and created an extremely dangerous situation. The sudden loss of drivetrain integrity at highway speed placed both myself and nearby motorists at serious risk of a crash. A component as critical as a differential mount or driveshaft should not fail under normal operating conditions. This incident strongly indicates a serious design or manufacturing defect affecting the vehicle’s powertrain and structural safety. Requested Action: I urge the NHTSA to investigate rear differential mounting and driveshaft failures on this vehicle model. After the use of the brakes, while I was pulling out of a large parking lot, the car functionally went into neutral, the “D” on PRNDL display began to blink. The brakes worked. I pulled over, put the car into Park and then into Drive again. Still, no change.

I was driving very slowly and then went down a hill. As soon as I tapped the brakes, the same thing occurred again. I was only 6 miles or less from the dealership. So, after re-starting the car for the 3rd or 4th time, I learned that using the parking brake did not disrupt the car and the accelerator continued to work. I drove to the dealership’s service department and used the parking brake when I needed to slow down. Today is 10/18/2025. I received a call back on 10/16 and none since. On October 13, 2025, I experienced three separate incidents involving my Jeep Wrangler 4xe while driving in Hybrid Mode at approximately 35 mph. First incident: Around 5:10 PM, the vehicle suddenly lost speed, stalled erratically, and displayed the message “Shift to D to Drive” on the screen while the “D” on the gear selector was flashing. ... o safely pull over and restart the vehicle. Second incident: Around 5:13 PM, less than a mile later, the same issue occurred again while the check engine light remained on. I again pulled over and restarted the vehicle. Third incident: Around 5:20 PM, the same problem repeated for a third time. After the third occurrence, I called the dealership where I purchased the vehicle to report the issue. The service department representative immediately recognized the problem and informed me that 13–14 vehicles had already come in that same day with the same issue. Because I was only about 3 miles away, I drove carefully at low speed with my hazard lights on and dropped off the vehicle at the dealership. At the service center, the staff member stated that it might be an electrical issue possibly related to a recent Uconnect+ software update. However, I had not received any prior information, warnings, or recall alerts regarding this issue — neither through the Jeep app nor by email. I am especially concerned that the dealership was aware of multiple vehicles with the same issue yet provided no notification to affected owners. I later discovered that other Jeep Wrangler 4xe owners have reported the exact same issue — the dash blinking “D” while driving, sudden loss of motive power, and the message “Shift to D to Drive” appearing even though the vehicle was already in drive. The backup camera for this vehicle is starting to fail and the view is blurry. Additionally, it seems that this also is affecting the rear traffic alert as I almost crashed into someone at a parking lot when trying to back out of a space. I will soon have no rear camera or cross traffic alerts.

... o a Honda repair center to seek assistance from Honda on the repair because the clutch failed at such low mileage and they diagnosed the cause as premature wear and tear. We know that a bulletin was put out in September 2022 regarding clutch failures with certain Honda Civic Sport models from 2020 and 2021, so we asked Honda for support. They declined because the 2022 model was not covered by the bulletin, even though our Honda had already been produced before that bulletin was released. We believe that our issue is related to the issues with the 2020 and 2021 models and have found that other 2022 and 2023 owners have experienced similar failures.
